When I woke up this morning, Sky was already gone. His side of the bed was cold, the faint scent of his cologne lingering on the pillow. It didn’t take a genius to figure out where he was. He’d probably buried himself in his office with Win and Dew, already knee-deep in plans.

I clenched my jaw as I got dressed, the irritation simmering under my skin. How dare he not wake me up? We’d talked about this. I wasn’t some helpless bystander in this fight. If I was supposed to be the key to this plan, then I damn well needed to be in the room where they were planning it.

When I reached the office, the door was slightly ajar. I pushed it open without knocking and stepped inside.

The scene was exactly as I’d imagined—they are standing around the large table, which was covered in maps, surveillance photos, and stacks of files. Their conversation was intense, voices low and focused, but the tension in the air was palpable.

“You wake up?” Sky’s voice cut through the discussion, his eyes snapping to me. He looked surprised—and maybe a little annoyed—but I didn’t care.

“You should have woken me up,” I said, crossing my arms as I walked further into the room. “If I’m not mistaken, I’m supposed to be the ‘star’ in this little show.”

Sky’s jaw tightened, and he ran a hand through his hair. “You need to rest. Let us handle this.”

“Don’t you dare,” I said sharply, my voice rising. “Don’t you dare kick me out again. You said you trusted me. If that’s true, then I need to be here.”

Win cleared his throat, his gaze darting between me and his boss. “He’s got a point, Boss. Maybe doctor can give us some input on the plan. After all, it revolves around him.”

Sky shot him a warning glare, but Win stood firm. Then Dew, leaning against the edge of the desk with his arms crossed, spoke up.

“If he knows the full details of the plan, he can play his part better,” Dew reasoned. “He’ll understand what’s at stake, and he won’t make mistakes because of things we kept from him.”

I beamed at Dew, silently thanking him for taking my side.

Sky’s gaze swung back to me, and for a moment, he just stared at me, his expression unreadable. The weight of his stare made my chest tighten, but I didn’t back down. Not this time.

Finally, he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Alright,” he said, his voice low and strained. “You can stay. But you must listen to me and the team. Follow every instruction we give you, and don’t do anything unnecessary that could jeopardize your life. Do you understand?”

“I understand,” I said firmly.

Sky stepped closer, his voice softening but his eyes burning with intensity. “Nani, this isn’t a game and there is no turning back. I can’t lose you. Promise me.”

I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of his words. “I promise.”

Win leaned forward, tapping the map spread out on the table. His finger traced a route leading out of the city to a marked location. “The goal is simple: draw Hong out of hiding and force him to make a move.”

He looked at me, his tone steady. “We’re using you as bait, to bring him out.”

“How?” I asked, my eyes darting between the three of them.

Win smirked. “The plan is we’re sending you to a safe house. Or at least, that’s what Hong’s mole will think. The story we’ll feed them is that Boss, out of ‘desperation,’ is hiding you somewhere out of reach. We’ll let the mole report back to Hong, and he’ll make plans to strike.”

“But the safe house is a decoy,” Dew cut in, his voice crisp. “You won’t actually be there. We’ll send you to another location.

I frowned. “So, I’ll be… alone? What if he finds out?”

“You won’t be alone,” Dew said firmly. “I’ll be with you, along with a small team of guards.

“Wait,” I said, holding up my hand. “You actually hope Hong to come to me?”

Sky, who had been quiet until now, finally spoke. “Yes,” he said, his voice low but resolute. “This isn’t just about keeping you safe anymore, Nani. It’s about ending this. This bastard has been pulling the strings for too long. If we can draw him out, we can finish this once and for all.”

“Okay,” I said slowly. “But how do we make sure Hong believes the story?”

Win paused, his eyes flicking to Sky, who raised an eyebrow. There was a beat of silence before Win spoke again.

“You and Boss will need to… act like you had a fight,” he said carefully, his gaze steady but amused.

Sky straightened, his eyebrows shooting up. “You want me to do what?”

“A lover’s quarrel,” Win repeated with a perfectly straight face. “Think about it—Hong needs to believe you’re emotionally compromised. He’ll expect you to be desperate, irrational. The fight will make it look like you’re pushing the doctor away to ‘protect’ him, which will make him think he’s had an upper hand towards you.”

Sky pinched the bridge of his nose again, clearly regretting every life choice that had led him to this moment. “You want me to stage a fight with Nani?”

Win nodded eagerly. “Exactly.”

Sky crossed his arms, clearly unimpressed. “And how exactly do you suggest we ‘stage’ this fight?”

“How do i know, i'm not your lover, figure it out,” Win said, shrugging nonchalantly. I can see Sky almost rolled his eyes hearing that. And i hear Dew chuckling at the side.

“Just make it convincing enough that the mole believes it. We need Hong to think this is Sky’s desperate move to protect his lover.” Win continued further.

I glanced at Sky, amused by his reaction. He was still glaring at Win, his jaw tight, but I could see the wheels turning in his mind.

Dew, ever the pragmatist, chimed in. “It’s not a bad idea, Hong isn’t just watching what you do—he’s watching how you react. If he thinks you’re emotionally off-balance, he’ll be more confident in his approach. That’s why this fight has to feel real.”

“Outsmarting that Son of bitch is one thing, but I’d rather shoot him than playact for him,” Sky said. He really not fancy of the idea.

I glanced at Sky, whose jaw was tight enough to crack. “Sky,” I said softly, “we can do this, we will find a way.” i tried to ease him up.

He looked at me, his eyes searching for mine, and after a long pause, he nodded. “Fine.

Win tapped the map again, pulling us back to the details. “Once the mole reports back to Hong, he’ll think you’re being sent to this location.” He pointed to a marked safe house just outside the city. “But this is the decoy. We’ll set it up to look like it’s lightly guarded—just enough to lure him in.”

“And where will I really be?” I asked.

Dew straightened, his sharp eyes meeting mine. “At another retreat house, deeper in the forest. We’ll make it look abandoned, but we’ll have a full team hidden around the perimeter. Cameras, traps, everything. Knowing Hong he will plan and outsmart us by bypassing the decoy and going straight for you.”

“Won’t he suspect a trap?” I asked.

“He will,” Dew replied. “Hong likes to be in control. He’ll assume he’s the one springing the trap. He won’t expect us to be ready waiting for him.”

Win leaned back against the table, arms crossed. “And the only people who’ll know the real plan are the four of us and several our trusted man. Not even the guards will know which location you’re actually in. That way, if Hong’s mole tries to dig deeper, they’ll only get the decoy.”

I nodded slowly, the weight of the plan settling over me. “So… what happens when Hong shows up?”

Sky’s voice cut through the room like a blade. “We finish this.”

-----

Before we finalize the meeting, Win cleared his throat. “The crucial part is The lover fight. Need to make it real and public, so get ready  and maybe you two can start to practice.” there is a hint of amusement at the end of his word.

“Practice?” Sky asked, his tone flat.

“Yes,” he said, trying to hide his smile. “remember It has to look natural. Believable.”

I raised an eyebrow at Sky, a faint smirk tugging at my lips. “What’s the matter? You don't have the heart to fight with me?”

His glare was withering. “This isn’t a game, Nani.”

I shrugged. “Maybe not, but if we’re going to do this, we might as well make it convincing.”

Dew crossed his arms, clearly amused despite himself. “This might be enjoyable to watch.”

“He’s not exactly an actor,” I say as a matter of fact, and smile brightly to Sky. Then Dew deadpans, “Neither are you. But if anyone can push Sky’s buttons, it’s you.”

Sky shot him a sharp look. “You’re both insufferable.”

Win leaned back, smirking faintly. “Let’s just hope Hong’s mole buys the act.”
