"Yeah, he's my personal chauffeur now," I reply. "Why, are you jelly?"

"I'm not jealous," He grumbles. "Just stay away from him."

"Just because he's in the rival gang doesn't mean I can't be friends with him," I retort, my arms crossed over my chest. What chest? I don't even know. I'm so flat.

"Yes, yes it does. Just because I warmed up to you doesn't mean everyone else is the same. Kaden Arrow is ruthless. He wants you for something, and as long as he doesn't know you know me..."

"Oh he knows."

"What?!" He breathes through gritted teeth. "You told Kaden Arrow that you know his number one enemy."

When he puts it like that... "Yeah?" I smile sheepishly. "It's fine, I can take care of myself."

"You got kidnapped," He points. Well, he does have a good point there, but I won't let him know that! And I read somewhere that the best way to get a man to kiss you is to tap into his pride.

Wait, kiss? It's not even nine in the morning and you're already horny?

"By you. And you've got the best mafia in the country," I compliment. The corner of his mouth twitches up into a slight smirk.

"I do."

"You may now kiss the bride!" I shout, just a little too loudly. "Shit. Shut me up! Why can't I shut up?!" And that's when a sound escapes Adrian's lips that I've never heard come from him. Laughter. And oh boy, is it contagious.

Soon, I find myself laughing with him. "I made you laugh," I say through laughter. "I made you laugh!"

"It felt good," He laughs.

"It felt good hearing it," I smile, keeping my eyes off his lips as much as possible, but they're so damn irresistible! I just want to kiss him senseless. "You're so hot." And this time, it didn't just slip out. I meant every word I said.

"Funny how just a while ago, my ex told me I wasn't."

"Well, she's blind to not see how beautiful you are. You're so damn hot," I tell him, and for the first time, I mean everything I say to him. Adrian leans closer to me, our foreheads almost touching.

"I want to kiss you," He breathes. A simple movement of his lips forming sounds sends electricity running through me as if I just touched a 10,000 volt wire.

"Then kiss me," I whisper, my voice craving. After that day he gave me a taste of lips, I've always wanted more. And now, he wants to kiss me.

"Not now. Not here."

Nearly two weeks had passed by after that incident. Of course, things haven't suddenly turned awkward between me and that hottie. He gets to leave the hospital today and like finally because hospitals don't have good fashion sense.

Everyday, I would go and visit him. We'd exchange a few insults as well a few jokes. I'd feel his arm muscles, and he'd tell me that my hair smells good. I'd bring ice cream only for it to melt by the time I got there. Then I'd suggest that he should drink the ice cream, but he'd say 'I love strawberry, but not that much,' and then we'd laugh.

He just got his stitches out last night, and has been on painkillers for the past 12 hours because it's supposed to hurt a lot. But he should be fine around now. Still slightly hurting, so he has to rest a lot and take more painkillers, but in a week from now, he's supposed to be all good except he still has a broken wrist.

He was super lucky for someone who got hit by a truck. He only suffered less than half the expected injuries for someone who got hit by a truck. Maybe it's because the truck came from the right side and not the side he was seated in, or because he swerved out of the way, but he's fine.

I just wish the little boy had gotten lucky too...

I open the door to Adrian's hospital room, where he's dressed in a baggy T-shirt and dark pink sweatpants. Oh God, those sweatpants... "Hey, Addy-Baddy," I smile as a nurse does some final check ups on him.

He offers me a slight nod as I take a seat on the couch. "Ready to go back home?"

"Fina-fucking-lly," He grumbles. "I've been on painkillers and depressing hospital food for the past two weeks. And the food you bring me is always melted."

I pout, giving him a sad look. "Of course, it's the thought that counts," He adds in the end and I smile. "How's your new apartment coming along?"

"I'm broke, I'm still saving up to furnish it. Lucky for me, I got a scholarship for the college I'm 'bout to attend, so all I gotta worry about is the apartment and other costs. Oh, and we don't have to live in a dorm first year, so ha! Anyway, how are your injuries?"

"He should be all better in a week as long as he doesn't work out. Or use his right arm too much," The nurse answers for him. At the last sentence, my mind instantly begins to drown in the gutter. Adrian looks at me, and shakes his head disappointedly as if he knew what I was thinking.

Pfft, what does he know?

"That's good," I nod, pretending as if I didn't think anything dirty just now. I've been reading too many steamy romance novels. I should shift to mystery for a while. But no matter what genre I read, my mind will always be in the gutter and I'll always be horny around Adrian.

I need holy water. A lot of it.

"Adrian, guess what?" I grin and he looks up at me, his intense green blue eyes nearly setting me on fire. He doesn't say anything, but the look on his face says it all. And it says 'yeah, go ahead, tell me. It's not like I'll be able to ignore you anyway.'

"Nothing," I snicker until I burst out laughing. Oh my, I crack myself up. Adrian smiles slightly, rolling his eyes.

"Well, Mr. Ro- Mr. Black, you're all set to leave, just need some last minute formalities. But they won't take long," The nurse tells him cheerfully. Either she's happy for him, or she's happy he's leaving.

But considering the fact that I walk in here every morning before work and crack dumbass jokes, I'm sure she's happy he's leaving. "Well, I gotta go. I'll see you later I guess," I tell him, waving him goodbye as I leave the hospital room.

Then I ring Cabby. He's actually a sweet person when you get to know him more. He's a way better flirt that Dylan, but he's scary at times too. Of course, I'm still wary of him, because I know that he wants something from me.

As long as I stay behind my boundaries, we'll be fine. "I'll be right there, princess," He says through the phone.

Ten minutes later, a red car pulls up at the front of the hospital. That's Cabby's favorite color and after that one day he used his white car, he's been using this red car. I walk over to the car, and take a seat in the passenger seat.

"Where to, darling?" He asks with a smile on his gorgeous face. His face was soft, with a narrow nose, almond eyes and perfect shaped lips. He was the perfect golden boy, but that was just his surface. Underneath, he was anything but soft. He was dangerous.

"Work."

"How come I've never dropped you off to work before?" He questions, slightly frowning.

"You were always busy during this hour. I remember you telling me almost daily that there was some asshole not giving you money," I remind him.

"Oh. But why do you even have to work? Adrian's your friend," His voice turns cold when he mentions Adrian.

"Please, he's a friend, but that doesn't mean I'll let him pay for all my things. I'm no freeloader."

"But Adrian's loaded."

"That doesn't change anything," I almost snap. "Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be independent, and now that Adrian's in my life doesn't mean I'll let go of those dreams."

"You have five rich people in your life. Blake, Dylan, Adrian, Anna and me. That amounts to more than billions of dollars. Not once have you considered getting some money off them?" He asks, clearly confused.

"All I see is five people that are nice to me. Five friends, although Anna and I are not on the best terms right now," I reply, my voice slightly bitter. Did Kaden really think I was going to use him for his money? His taxi services? Sure. But not his money. "I don't see fucking bank accounts. If I did, I'd have robbed you blind by now."

I look up at Kaden, only to see his eyes shining not with mischief, anger or evil. And this is an expression I've never seen in someone before. Or at least towards me.

"Wow, princess. I really respect you for that."

I don't reply, because I don't know how exactly to reply to a compliment. After a moment of awkward silence, Kaden speaks up again. "Princess, mind if I ask you something?" There's a slight uncertainty in his voice which I've never seen or heard in him either.

"Sure?"

"There's a ball on August 5th. For the gangs. All of them. It's the biggest party ever thrown in the summer. I wasn't sure who I wanted as my plus one, but would you mind coming as my plus one? As friends of course. There will be lots of food."

All gangs? Wouldn't that mean Adrian is going too? I want to go with him. But what if he doesn't even ask me? Then I'll be a lonely pickle at the party.

"Sure, Cabby," I smile. "For the food."
