As my carriage traveled further from my home
The more I felt unease
I decided to take out my journal and think about what had happened in my past life during the preparations for the banquet
My "husband" was a person that grew tired of his mistresses very easily
If I remember one mistress in particular, Camila caused a big scandal at the end of the party because he had refused to see her upon his return, he was deeply embarrassed afterward
Perhaps if I stopped that from happening I could use this to my advantage
It took a whole day of travel to arrive at the main estate and I was ready to arrive
Upon my arrival I was greeted by Lucy, she is the head maid in charge of the estate
"Greetings my lady," she said as she bowed before me, however only she came to greet me
Normally when the lady of the house comes home every employee welcomes them back but of course, this was not the case with me
"Hello Lucy," I said as I got out of the carriage
"Please follow me" she said leading me into the home
As I entered, the house looked exactly the same as when Henry left for war which was 2 years ago
Soon we climbed the familiar set of grand staircases that led to the second floor of the estate
The second floor broke into wings, the west was for the family particularly the master bedroom, and the right-wing was for guest's such as me
We made our way down the right-wing and she opened the door for a guest bedroom
"I hope this room is adequate for your stay," she said as she walked into the room
"It is" I said as I entered the room
My luggage would later be delivered to my room, right now all I wanted to do was rest but I knew I needed to take this time to plan what I was going to do
Lucy closed the door behind me and then when we're alone
Suddenly she launched herself at me, embracing me in a hug
Unbeknown to everyone, Lucy and I were very close
I met her when I first married Henry and formed a close bond with her
"I feel as if it has been forever since I last saw you" she exclaimed
" Same here, I did not think my husband would be coming back for the war so soon," I said as I decided to sit on the bed
" Everyone here was also surprised, we were informed just a couple of days ago and the preparations have already started," She said sitting beside me
"Lucy, what else has been going in the mansion since I left," I asked
"Nothing really, everything here has stayed the same as always, and now that the master is coming back it has begun to become very busy," She said as she began preparing my bath
"Lucy, I need to tell you something important I decided to adopt 5 children," I said as I watched her grab the fragrance for the water
" WHAT! Does the master know about this?" She asked after spilling some of the fragrance out of the tub
"No he doesn't not yet at least, I have to come up with a way to tell him and hopefully he'll support me" I said, as I waited for her to finish and help me undress
" Evelin, the master is not someone who is kind to those that do not abide by his rules. You know that better than anyone" She said as she finishes preparing the bath
"I know, but I just wanted to be a mother and I have grown to love those children very much" I said as Lucy began to undress me
"Evelin, you are to kind and I already know those children probably already have you wrapped around their finger, but think about what the master could do to those kids if he does not approve. You can put your life at risk but do not put those children's life at risk" She told me as she began walking away with my dirty clothes
"I won't let anything happen to them," I said as I got in the tub,
"I will be back, I need to make sure your luggage is brought to your room and bring your night clothes but this conversation is not over," She said as she left the room
As I sat in the tub I thought about Henry's tendencies, in my past life he tried to divorce me a couple of years later into our marriage
My family at this point had risen to power and stopped him
But I suffered some consequences because of it
I already had multiple backup plans in case of the worst-case scenario
But I hoped I wouldn't need to use them
Lucy came back in with my luggage and finished bathing me
We talked about my children a bit more and she left for the night
The next morning
Began the real challenge, about being able to prepare the banquet
I needed to approve the list of attendee's
What food was to be made
And many other details
The week went by and
A day before the banquet, Camilia came to the estate demanding to be let inside
This had occurred in my last life and I pushed her away
I needed the same events to occur and thus I did deny her request to enter the estate
That day I finalized everything and fell fast asleep thinking about my children
