Finally, I woke up on the day of the banquet
The estate seemed to be in controlled chaos as the final details needed to be done before the banquet began
The maids came in and surprisingly took their time preparing me for the banquet
I settled on an emerald green gown that complimented my red-hued hair and dark green eyes
I decided on simple makeup and the maids went overboard with the jewelry, which Henry always requested to show off the wealth he had
As soon as they finished, I was left alone as the final preparations had to be done
This gave me some time to prepare my plan
Thinking about my plan made me think about my children
If they were okay
If they were having fun all these past couple of days
Soon I was deep in thought and I heard a knock on my door
"Come in," I said as I stood before the mirror to double-check my appearance
" Everything is ready and the master will be marching in with the troops in 15 minutes" Lucy informed me as she walked in
" Very well, lead the way," I said as I grabbed a shawl in case it got cold
" Of course, follow me," She said
I had almost forgotten that when a general returns back from war they come marching through the town, similar to a parade in their honor
Henry and the troops will march straight to the estate and the banquet will begin
I will greet them all at the door
Playing the beloved wife role
As I followed Lucy I couldn't help but be nervous
Henry had caused many hardships in my life
But for my children, I was willing to do anything
I stood outside waiting with all the employees and through the gates, Henry came marching in
He still seemed the same to me with blond hair and dark blue eyes
His face did seem more hollow and he seemed much thinner too
They reached the estate fairly quickly and Henry dismounted automatically
" My beloved wife, how I have missed you," He said as he came closer to me and gave me a peck on the lips
"My dear husband, I am glad you arrived well," I said smiling but inside I felt pure disgust
I followed him inside and the rest of the employees followed
"Lucy, tend to the troops make sure they rest a bit before they attend the banquet and Evellin begin to greet the guest's," he said as he left to bathe
I made my way to the banquet hall and soon people began to arrive
I stood by the entrance for about 30 minutes and it seemed like people would never stop arriving
Soon Henry finally arrived and we both stood greeting more families
At last, everyone seemed to arrive and now the real work began
As Henry took my hand to begin our rounds going around and talking with each family individually
"Evelin, make sure to get invited to more tea parties and you must ensure an invitation to the queen's private tea," He told me as we walked to the first family
He was honestly asking for the impossible
The queen was a very private person
Even in my past life I was only ever invited once to her tea parties
But I shouldn't be surprised he had asked me this in my past life as well
And I was not able to make it happen as a result I had my wrist broken
I had to make sure not to let that happen again
We made our rounds speaking with each family and the questions were all the same
"How were you able to defeat the other troops?"
"Evelin I would be delighted if you could join me for tea"
"When will you have children?"
That question was always the toughest but not anymore
Soon the king and queen entered the banquet
"My king and queen, we are honored by your presence," Both me and Henry said as we kneeled before them
"You may rise," The king said
"Henry I want to thank you for winning the war and continuing to let my people live their lives in peace," The king said to us
"My king, it was an honor to risk my life for this country," Henry said
I just wanted to roll my eyes at him
"Evelin, I hope you were not lonely during these two years without your husband," the queen told me
This was the moment I had been looking for
"Of course not your highness, I did miss my husband terribly but thankfully I had other's to keep me company" I replied
"Do you mean the employees? Having a close relationship with the help of the home does lighten one's own mood at times" The queen replied
"Yes, I find that with some of the employees I have become quite fond of," I said
"I am glad, I hope to invite you to tea some time soon," She told me
" I would be honored," I said
In my past life, the queen was very close to her servants
I knew talking about that would help me win her over
Soon after the dancing began and it seemed as though the party was coming to close
I knew Camilia would be appearing soon and so it became time to put my plan to action
She would come in through the servant door and barge from the kitchen door that leads to the banquet hall
I decided to bring a guard with me and fake that I heard a weird noise in the kitchen
At that exact moment, Camilia is seen barging through the servant door
"HEY, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED IN HERE" The guard hells as he grabs her arm dragging her back the door
"I'll go back to the party," I tell him as I watch him struggle with Camilia as she yells for him to let her go
Back at the party I approach Henry and inform him of the situation
The banquet continues until finally, it comes to a close
As we say farewell to the last of the guest's the guard who took Camilia announces to Henry that she has refused to leave the premises
Henry follows him through the back doors and I make my way back to my room
The maids help me prepare for my bed and I hear a knock on the door
