In the upcoming weeks, the mansion was busy from sunrise to sunset
The children were being educated about all the attendee's making sure they got portraits so they knew what everyone looked like, learning about each family's background, and of course, the most important thing was learning how to dance
As for me, I had many more things to do, I had to send out the invitations, prepare the food, make the decorations arrangements and I still had to pick out the outfits for everyone
Elijah's debut is going to be the party of the year
I decided to invite every single noble and I hoped her majesty would not come because when it comes to royalty they do cause some more extra stress
The party is only a week away and all the invitations have returned confirming everyone is attending
I assume most nobles find this party as a surprise because I never threw parties before or really tried to mingle and get to know other people
But this party will be different, I need to be the perfect host and make some real connections
I let Henry know about the party because I knew word would travel all the way to where he was
The night before we all ended up having an early dinner because we still had more things to do for the party the next day
As we were waiting for dinner to be served
" My children, I just want to say that tomorrow most importantly have fun, make new friends, and please do not cause any problems with other children," I said as taking a sip of wine
" Yes mother," They said looking tired from all they're studying for tomorrow
" Also, his and her majesty will be attending with the prince's remember to be extra nice to them," I said
"Wait, his highness the future king is going to be coming tomorrow," Theo asks surprised as he digs into his food
"Yes, everyone that I sent invitations to is attending," I said as I begin to take bites of my food
" Well that's an honor, but it isn't deciding who is going to be the future king yet, the 1st prince has a younger brother who could prove to be better," Elijah says
"That's right however that's not something we say out loud or in public remember everyone, the 1st prince for all we know will be the future king," I say, getting nervous about tomorrow
But I knew the 1st prince would be killed by his younger brother
However, it still was not time to start changing fate
Maybe later in the next couple of years, I needed to start steering my children to support the second prince but not for now
The rest of the evening we spent talking about our outfits and going over etiquette
I was the first to wake up among everyone, I could only hear the staff already decorating and making the food
I needed to ready myself for the long day ahead
This would be the first step in securing my children's future
I heard a knock and heard the maids asking to come inside
I took a bath, changed into my long sleeve emerald green gown, we had decided on the color green and mine complimented my hair which was swept up in a sort of low bun with braids
I tried not to go overboard with the jewelry
By the time I had finished getting ready my children had just woken up and were about to get ready
I went to the ballroom and made sure that all the arrangements were done, checked up on the food, made sure we had enough wine for everyone and plus some games for the children to play
I went to the office and checked some mail before deciding to go check up on the children
Arabella and Nesrin were wearing similar green gowns but in a parakeet color which was off the shoulder with their hair down
Elijah, Theo, and Jude were all wearing suits in different shades of green, Elijah decided to compliment my emerald green meanwhile Jude and Theo chose more of a sage green
We all matched nicely and now it was time for everyone to have a small breakfast before we continued with the preparations
The attendees were not scheduled to come until 6 pm
and it was still currently 12ampm
But the children still had to practice dancing
I left them after and began looking over the food platters, the seating arrangements, and other things meanwhile the children were left alone to practice
Finally, it was time to commence the party
I lined up all the children behind me from oldest to youngest except Elijah and we began to thank everyone as they walked inside our home
We stood there for almost more than an hour thanking a wide range of nobles who came
Finally, her majesty entered with the two princes following behind
" Your highness, its an honor to have you attend Elijah's ceremony today," I said as I bowed before her
" Your majesty, it an honor" My children repeated as they also followed my actions
" We also greet his highness Lysander and prince, Lucious. " We said at the same time.
The first prince and second prince did not have the same mother and like in most cases this did cause problems
In my first lifetime, it was confirmed that Lucious was abused by the Queen and she paid severely for it
And the first prince was killed
I did not want to tell my children who they should be friends with
I can only hope they make the right choice
After, I went upstairs to get Elijah and finally he was introduced to society
"Now introducing Elijah Lion" The servent called and he descended down the stairs looking dashing as always
I meet with him at the bottom of the stairs and from their we went around to all the families saying our hellos
Finally, after what seemed an eternity, the dances began and Elijah pulled Arabella to dance with for the first dance
I stood with my children as we all watched them dance
They were both in sync and I'm pretty sure my face showcased how excited I was watching them
The dance ended and now it was time for all the small children to dance, then for the teenagers, and finally the adults
I told my children to go make friends and I continued making my rounds and conversing with people
I definitely felt overwhelmed, before I would go out with Henry but we would never stay long
Now I was here by myself and I knew I needed to make connections
***THIRD POV***
As Elijah waited upstairs meanwhile the guest arrived, he already knew his plan of action
A knock disrupted his train of thought and he saw his mother opening in the door
His mother informed him it was time and she left to join the rest of the guest
Soon it was his turn to descend into society and this would be the first step into being able to protect his mother
He was nervous but he knew he needed to be perfect
" You did wonderful" His mother told him when we got to the bottom of the stairs
"Thank you" Elijah replied as he extended his arm for her
"Now we are going to go say hello to her majesty and the princes, then greet the rest of the guests and finally your dance," She said as they made their way toward where the royal family was.
"I greet her majesty," Elijah said as he bowed to show his respect
"I also greet his highness Lysander and prince, Lucious," Elijah said also bowing for them
"You may rise, Evelin, you have such a dashing boy" Her majesty complimented
" Thank you, your majesty" His mother replied beaming with joy
They left to greet everyone else and Elijah found Arabella as the music was to begin soon
"Ara, when we finish, continue with my original plan," Elijah told her as they got into position
" Understood," She said taking a deep breathe before the music began
They danced perfectly as they had practiced nonstop for the past month
Soon the music stopped and everyone clapped for their performance
Now it was time for the plan to begin
Elijah, Nesrin, and Theo left to find his first highness, meanwhile, Arabella and Jude went to look for the second prince
Tonight everyone is looking at Elijah but no one is really looking at the other children
All Elijah needed to do was just research and look to tell which prince had more potential
The first prince was a snob, who did not look like a true prince who would become a king
Meanwhile, the second prince showcased that he was malnourished a bit but he had great potential, it seemed his spirit was not crushed
Elijah had a plan A and a plan B depending on which prince seemed more ready to be king but they were both 12 years old
Elijah, Nesrin, and Theo were nervous but knew that their part was easy, they found the first prince already surrounded by many more children
Theo pushed the other children aside from behind his highness and Nesrin tripped on his highness just as planned he caught her
" Your highness, I am so sorry I was just so clumsy because I wanted a better look" Nesrin replied looking up at Lysander hoping he would take the bait
" HAHAHAH if you wanted to look at me all you had to was say it," Lysander exclaimed, boosting his beauty
From there Theo interrupted to apologize for Arabella and Elijah stepped up to make sure Nesrin was alright
From then on Theo and Elijah were able to start a conversation with Lysander and keep him distracted meanwhile Arabella and Jude made their next move
Lucious had been told he was not welcome to come by the Queen but his Father had forced him to go
To Lucious, his father was nothing but a stranger even worse than that actually
His father knew the abuse he received but still did nothing
He moved to a balcony to get some fresh air meanwhile he waited to go back home
His mother was ill, as long as he did as instructed by his father, a medic came to give her medication but it was still not enough
He hated being away from her for fear of her death and he never expressed his mistreatment to not worry her
Lucious had not been paying attention when he suddenly felt someone next to him
" Your highness," He heard and saw a pretty girl next to him with her little brother too, their names Lucious could not remember
" If you want to make connections with me you're wasting your time, I have nothing of benefit to you," Lucious said without hesitation as he returned to stare out the balcony
" I am not trying to make connections through your highness" Arabella replied as she leaned against the rail to stare out the balcony as well
"Then? " Lucious replied curiously
" Here," Arabella said as she quickly put a small bottle in Lucious hand
" What- -
" --It's medicine from the holy temple, I know your mother is sick and we both know that medic isn't doing their job properly" Arabella replied as she turned around as if to walk back inside the party
" I know it's hard to trust me but my family is on your side" Arabella replied as She left with Jude back into the party, leaving Lucious in a daze
No one had ever said they were on his side before and no one had ever truly tried to help him or his mother
But he first needed to make sure the medicine was real, if it was this could be the beginning of something great
Lucious hid the bottle in his pockets and tried to calm his thumping heart
Soon the celebration came to an end and all the guest left
" Well my lovely children," Evelin asked as they all made their way inside to their rooms
"I hope this party was to your liking of everyone," She said taking a look at their tired faces
" Yes mother, thank you for everything" Elijah replied as he gave her a giant hug
All the other children joined in as well and everyone retired to their rooms
Arabella and Nesrin went to the boy's room to follow up on their plan
"Well Arabella, how did it go," Elijah asked as he sat on his bed
"It went well he took the medicine, but what about for your guys," Arabella asked as she looked at Theo
" It went as you planned, he took a liking to Nesrin for sure and he definitely seems like an idiot just how you predicted" Theo replied getting into bed
"Now what happens," Jude asked, as he did not help as much with the plan
"We need to start hosting tea parties and making those connections" Elijah replied as he also started getting in bed
Arabella and Nesrin left to go to sleep and Elijah was left in deep thought
It was harder to find information about the second prince than to get the holy medicine
Besides the fact that he has mistreated , information about his mother was almost impossible to find, but thanks to his family he was able to get it
One of his cousins had to go to the palace for a job and pretended to be lost in order to see the sick women in the room with Lucious asleep
A guard came running and escorted him away but the glimpse was all he needed
To get the holy medicine, it did cost a fortune and it was not the cure, it would just relieve the symptoms for up to a year
Now he needed to find a way to keep in communication with Lucious and support him in becoming king
Just the first step out of 100 more Elijah thought but one step none the less
