It was Monday morning!! School has finally resumed and students were running to the school for Assembly.
The were lined up according to their classes e.g jss1 boys, jss1 girls.
Kimberly and Hassan the two assembly Prefects were at the front conducting the assembly as Prefects stayed at every corner of the hall.
Ashley and Jace were seated at the entrance of the Hall .They were on duty today.
Ashley was dozing off while Jace went to sort something out.
Then a girl eleven years old to be exact walks into the hall quickly as she gets stopped.
"Stop . right . there." The low voice said as Ashley raised her head and looked at the girl.
She was in jss1 a new student to be clear and she was trembling as she stood there.
Ashley adjusted in the seat as she took a good look at the girl.
"What's your name??" Ashley asked as the girl stuttered.
"My....my...my name....is.... Bo....Boma!!" She said as she tried to smile a little as she noticed Ashley was not smiling.
"Boma. Why are you late?" Ashley said as the girl shook in fear.
"I....I..I...I overslept" she said as Ashley raised her brows confused.
"Overslept?? How ?? The Principal told the Junior secondary students to retire to their dorms by 8:00 and you say you overslept?? What were you doing?? Abi didn't you retire??" Ashley bombarded the girl with questions as she gulped.
"I retired when the Principal said , But I didn't sleep right away ,I was gisting with my roommate" Boma said as Ashley frowned.
"But your 'friend' is in the assembly and you are not " Ashley said as the girl's face changes immediately.
I'm dead
Boma thought in her mind.
"You know what?? Bisola abi what did you say your name was.... Boma! Just stand here , this is where you will do your own assembly and first period" Ashley said as Boma whimpered in fear.
Then Jace came as he saw the girl standing at the back of Ashley's chair as Ashley closed her eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Jace asked as Boma whimpered again.
"Senior Ashley punished me for being late" she said as Ashley opened her eyes staring at Jace.
"Don't do that again, try to wake up early you are a student okay?? Now go to your line" Jace said as Boma smiled and nodded but before she even moved she could feel the aura of Ashley's anger boiling.
"Don't . Move" Ashley said as Boma trembled in fear. The last thing she wanted was the seniors to fight then her case gets to the principal and she gets seriously punished.
"I said Go" Jace said as he and Ashley started a glaring competition , as Boma ran to her line.
"Look Jace if you want this to work mind your business, the head boy is in charge of the boys and other affairs while the head girl is in charge of the girls that doesn't mean we can't punish boys or girls but don't do what you did today again "Ashley said as she stood up angrily as the bell rang and students went to their classes.
IN THE SS3 CLASS....
IT was a free period for the Sss3 class because the teachers were busy addressing the new students that is the younger ones.
Most of the Sss3 students were in the lab, some were in the library and the rest were in the class.
Dera and Ashley were in the class as Ashley rested her head on the table as Dera studied her textbook.
Tolani and her clique were also in the class while Lois was in the lab and Kim , peace and Hailey were in the library.
"Seriously.....I don't understand..... The year Prefect posting is partial!!! It's rubbish!!!" Esther said as Tolani nodded at her in agreement.
"I can't believe it maybe the principal was sleeping or something when he was choosing them!!" Misturah said as Dera tried to turn a deaf ear .
"And the head girl post sef mtchewwww of all posts it was only this one that vex me die!!!" Tolani said as dina supported .
"I can't believe he chose a depressed person to be the head girl of Frost Academy.... What a shame!!!" Tolani said and then Dera had enough of it.
She slammed her hand on the desk as Tolani was shocked.
"Hey!! Tolani or whatever you call yourself!! Why do you like picking on people sef!!!! You try to find the worst in them and bring it out!!!! Don't think no one doesn't want to confront you o !!! They are just waiting for your cup to full!!! And then you will be wondering why they didn't choose you for prefect!!! Be doing yourself!!!" Dera shouted as Tolani was dumbfounded.
Dera dragged Ashley and went out of the class, as they were heading out, Emeka was heading in and bumped into Dera as she quickly hurried away.
She tried to keep herself from asking Ashley if she was suffering from depression , but she couldn't, Even though she really didn't relate with Ashley, Ashley had her way of showing kindness.
Ashley hugged Dera as she was shocked, Ashley didn't look like the type that did hugs. Dera accepted her hug warmly.

It was break time and Everyone was eating in the hall.
There was nothing like 'keep my food or keep my chair for me' when you come back you seat will disappear.
The place was full but neat. That was a trait of the Frosties, they knew how to keep their places clean.
Dera stared at the food wierdly... It was fried rice with chicken and salad with yogurt.
She saw how the others were eating without hesitation and then she gathered herself to ask.
"Girls... Is fried rice a normal thing here??" She asked as they all stopped eating and stared at her.
"What do you mean?" Hailey asked her as she gulped.
"Okay so... Back home .. if you are eating fried rice... That means there's something festive happening, like me I only eat fried rice on birthdays and Christmas" Dera said as they all burst into laughter
"Sorry o Yewande are you serious?? Fried rice here is like garri in your side o, fried rice is nothing" Kimberly said as Lois held my hand.
"Don't worry sis, you'll get used to it soon" she said as Dera smiled and nodded.
Then Ashley screamed as a hot liquid dropped from her shoulder down to her clothes

Tolani really hit the soft part of Dera,
She saw the defensive part of Dera today.
Tolani called Ashley a depressed person.
