Evie stretched her limbs as she stood up from her seat. She hated taking flights. Being sat in the same seat for hours in the middle of the sky, what a pain! She preferred the safety of the solid and rigid ground.
When the plane finally landed, she alongside with every other passengers stood up to take her belongings. And with light steps, she made her way out of the giant metal bird. She slithered between people, making her way toward the area to fetch her luggage. She waited a few minutes, pushing her long hair out of her face into a ponytail as she scaned the thousands of suit cases passing by before spotting hers. She grabbed them and once again, sligthered her way out of the heavily crowded airport.
Even after four years back into regular human life, she hated crowded places. She always feared to loose her temper and phase in front of every one. Even though she had the best self control out of all the shifters, no body was spared of a unfortunate incident. Luckily, Evie managed to survive those four college years with no shifting problems.
In the taxi heading to Forks, Evie wondered if she should directly visit her friends. But she really wanted to take a shower first. The many hours of flight took a toll on her. So when she arrived to her cozy house, she directly headed to the bathroom. Nobody was home. Seth and Leah surely were at the Black house. And her mother and Charlie, her step-father, were maybe out on a date, who knows?
A lot of things happened in seven years. And by a lot of things, I mean a lot of weddings and engagements. Sam and Emily got married a few months before Evie left for college. The now Uley girl was even pregnant. Then in Evie's sophomore year, her mother and Charlie got married too. As such, he was told the truth about the Quileutes. He was obviously taken aback and shocked but did not think much about it. It wouldn't change anything to his feelings for Sue or for the children. But as Evie's step-father, it also made Bella her step sister. It was quite a funny situation. Especially because it consequently made Edward her brother in law. Fate really wanted the two of them to be part of the same family. Talking about family, Leah and Aaron were engaged. Leah proposed months ago on a very romantic date. Of course Aaron said yes. He often joked about the fact that Leah beat him at proposing.
Apart from that, Seth and Sarah also went to college. The others where either too young or didn't wish to go. Most of them devoted their life to their pack and to protecting Forks. But they still got job to earn money.
After taking a refreshing shower and dressing up, Evie decided to head to the Black house. She couldn't wait to see her friends and siblings after almost a year. And especially her beloved boyfriend Jacob. They often face time but wasn't the same as seeing each other in real life. She couldn't wait to embrace him and kiss him, to just feel him. Jacob had been very supportive of her studies. Even though distance was hard, he still managed to cheer her up every time she would feel down because of exams or when she would feel discouraged.
But her cheeriness quickly dropped when she knocked on the door of the Black house. She knocked, but no body responded. Actually, there was no one at all. She smelled no scent, she heard no noise. Nothing.
Evie frowned, confused of the situation. She was certain her friends would be there. They were always there, it was their meeting place, their head quarters. Evie tried to call her siblings, boyfriend and friends but none of them answered. She was starting to get worried, thinking something happened. But before assuming anything, she decided to go the Cullens just in case. And if there was no one, then she could freak.
Realief took over her persona when she smelled the scents of her friends. Although, she wondered why all of them where there. The two packs, some elder, the cullens and even her mother and Charlie.
Evie frowned but still headed to the house. And when she stepped into the living room, she froze.
"Welcome back, Evie!" They all cheered joyfully.
The room was beautifully decorated with festoos and a banner congratulating her for her graduation. On a long table was Evie's favorite food. Just by how extravagant the decorations were, she knew Alice was behind it. Everyone was so beautifully dressed. Gowns, cocktail dresses, tuxedos. Evie laughed at them, feeling quite underdressed in her jeans and blouse.
"What the hell? I wanted to be the one surprising you!" She laughed as she dried the few tears that escaped her eyes.
Jacob was the first one to walk over to her. He gently held her chin up and softly landes a kiss on her pink lips.
"Alice saw you crashing the party days ago," he smiled. "We have to change plans in order to surprise you,"
"You're the first college graduate of the family, we had to celebrate properly!" Seth cheered as he rushed to tightly hug his sister. Evie broadly smiled as she hugged her baby brother back. She still had a hard time processing the fact he had grown up so much.
"There was no way you would mess that up," Leah joked as she joined the hug.
It felt so good to Evie to be back. She missed Forks more than she thought she could.
"I'm so proud of you," Sue smiled as she and Charlie both hug their daughters.
"Prepare yourself, it's just the first diploma of many others," Edward joked.
"Maybe I'll collect the cap just like you guys," she joked.
"You already have one ahead of me," Bella said. Renesmee was standing just beside her, grown and arms wrapped with Jay's.
After the battle of the Cullen House, to everyone's relief, especially Edward's, Bella woke up as a vampire. She was completely changed. The frail, clumsy and fragile human no longer existed. She was way more confident, strong and independant. She no damsel in distress anymore and it was refreshing to see. Now she and her family were living peacefully. Although, at first there were some worried concerning Renesmee. She was growing up quite fast. They feared her life span was would be shorter. Turned out it was not.
As everyone thought there would be no more fight, the Volturi stepped in after Irina misuderstood Renesmee's real nature. The Italian coven wanted to kill the child but the Cullens managed to dismiss the situation. No fight broke, but Irina died.
"Not only the first graduate of the Clearwater family, but the first graduate of the Black back. You're making history, V," Emrby joked.
The of them tightly hug. She had missed her best friend. It felt really good to be back.
They broke away and Embry came to stood next to a young woman with short black hair. He wrapped his arms around her as she congratulated Evie on obtaining her diploma. Emy Cote joined the Black pack weeks before the confrontation with the Volturi. Aaron didn't like the idea of his cousin who just phased to fight against the deadliest vampires of the world. But they had no choice. He was not the only one worried about the new member. Embry found himself very protective of her. Turned out that Embry imprinted on Emy, and Emy imprinted of Embry. Evie was more than happy that her best friend had found someone for him. His soul mate.
Every thing was doing well. More than well.
The party lasted deep into the night. The atmosphere was light, full of joy and happiness. Everyone were carefree, quite reckless even. It was the first time that all of them were all reunite in the same place, at the same moment. It was the first time they felt so genuinely happy in a long time.
"Shouldn't you be inside," Evie heard. Jacob entered the balcony and walked to stand beside her. He wrapped his arm around her waist as she leaned against him. "It's your party after all,"
"I just needed some time to process," Evie giggled. "You all really threw a graduation party for me,"
"Of course," he smiled. "It is something to be celebrated. You finished college. That's big!"
"Yeah well thatâs kind of a weight lifted from my shoulders,"
"Yeah, I remember when you would call me to cry about your exam," he laughed.
"Hey! That was hella stressful!" She playfully nudged him.
"Well, you nailed it anyway," he smiled.
"And now that I am here," Evie smiled as she hugged his waist. "We'll finally be together,"
"Tell me about it," Jacob smirked as he leaned in.
Only a very small gap was separating Jacob's lips to Evie's. So small they could feel the other's breath on their lips. Evie's heart was beating at the speed of lighg. She did not even know it could beat so fast against her rib cage. Her stomach twisted, flipped flopped as her breathed got stuck in her throat seeing his face closer and closer. She had waited for this moment for monthes. Dreamt of it even. Being so far away from Jacob was painful, killing her inside. But now that they found each other once more, she felt complete. As if everything was at its right place. Just were it needed to be.
Jacob softly cupped Evie's face as he closed the gap between them. He pressed his lips against hers. As a response, Evie gripped the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back. They closed their eyes, enjoying the moment fully as their lips moved in sync. The Black boy wrapped his other arm around Evie's waist, pulling her closer. Her body collided against his as she leaned into the embrace. The female shifter slid her hand from his torso to his neck, then into his soft dark hair. Jacob deepened the kiss as his hand traveled on her back, as the other found its way on her hips. Evie but his bottom lips earning a moan from him as he parted his mouth. Their tongues danced with each other as Evie released another little moan, pressing her body even more against his. Their minds were blank, they were just living the moment, enjoying the feeling and sensation of each other. They were on the same page, on the same line. They hearts were beating at the same pace, resonating with one another. They felt complete, as if the last part of the puzzle was finally completed. The feeling, the sensation, the touch of the other, they had been craving for it for too long.
They eventually broke away, panting for air.
"I love you so goddamn much," Jacob breathed. Evie chuckled.
"I love you too, Jake," she smiled as she pressed her lips against his once again. "I'm not leaving anymore,"
"You better be, because this time I won't let you go," he joked. "I'm done living alone in this house,"
"Well, I'm back now so you better make some space in your bed for me," she smirked.
Jacob softly smiled.
"You wonât regret it, I promise," he said. "We came a long way. I will stay true to my feelings for you. For as long as I shall live,"
"We have all the eternity to love each other," Evie smiled. "My love for you is endless, Jake,"
"And my love for you is limitless, Evie,"
And once again, they sealed their love through a kiss.
After the storm, always comes the sun again.
THE END.
