Thank you for all your questions! Sorry if I didn't answer your question, I got lazy after a while and skipped some that I already had answered from other questions.
PixelatedQuota Q: What was your biggest challenge while writing this book?
A: Getting the plot where I wanted it to be. The plot changed a lot from what I originally had planned, so I was sort of replanning and outlining while I was writing and that was difficult and also made chapters come out slower. I got the result I always wanted, but it was just getting to certain plot points that I struggled with. I also originally wanted this book to be way shorter (like 30 chapters) and I struggled with condensing it, obviously, since it's like 20ish chapters longer than I wanted it to be.
Karixme_ Q: All of your books are connected, but for this one what was your main idea that started it all? What has been your favorite chapter in the story?
sellmysoul2bewithu Q: What was your favorite scene to write for this book?
A: I wouldn't say all my books are "connected." They just all take place around the same area and around the same time. The idea for this story came about because I just really wanted to have Wren as a main character. I would say I was pretty close to the end of On Thin Ice when I got the idea for Wren and Landon which is why Landon gets a bit of a redemption at the end of that book. My favorite chapters to write are always the scenes that I have had planned from the beginning because it's super satisfying to finally be able to write the scene (I don't like pre-writing scenes), so in this book one of the biggest scenes was Fox confronting Wren about Landon. I love any scene with the brothers because I love writing about siblings. The other big scenes that had been planned since the beginning were Landon confronting Wren about the "I love you" thing, Landon getting hurt by his dad and Wren going there and confronting the dad, and Wren writing the love letter.
whoisdaisyjones Q: What intrigued you about Landon and Wren in the first place?
A: I just loved writing Wren's character so much in On Thin Ice, I knew I wanted to write him a book. I felt like he would be a waste of a character just to have him as a side character in someone else's book. I just thought that putting him with Landon made sense and it would make for a good book since it would cause a lot of drama. Obviously Landon has a lot of layers to him and I thought he would be a good character to dive deeper into. They both have big personalities. It just made sense in my head. I can't pinpoint the exact moment that I thought of it.
donteatbutter123 Q: Will there be an Anthony and James book?
lhnfiwtw Q: Will James and Anthony get a book? If not, will it be different characters from this book or new people?
A: No. I'm sorry to all who want an Anthony and James book, but they were just some fun side characters I put in here for a little more drama. I think we know all there is to know about them and they're back together now as of the end of this book, so I have no idea what I would write about if I were to write them a book.
My next book is about brand new characters.
justinshero Q: Do we think Landon and his mom ever reconnected/had a conversation to kinda give them closure? Did Livi end it with Jimmy?
A: I'm not sure that Landon will reconnect with his mother. I don't think that he feels the need for closure because he just sees her as someone who was complicit in his abuse. She didn't protect him and then she was awful to his sister. For him, there's no forgiving that and he wants to move on. As for Livi and Jimmy, they're done.
HmmUhhIdk Q: Will there be another chapter where it's them in the future? Like a wedding?
geminigirl32Â Q: Will there be bonus chapters?
letsplayludo Q: Will there be extra chapters?
A: There will be bonus chapters. There may or may not be a wedding involved.
user86655468 Q: Did you plan on this couple when you were writing On Thin Ice? Or after finishing the story you found that they were a good couple?
minighostie_Â Q: Was this story inspired while you were writing OTI or before it?
A: It was toward the end of On Thin Ice that I decided I was going to write them as a couple. Somewhere around chapter 46.
idontcare13333 Q: Will we get chapters from Wren's POV?
A: If you're asking about for bonus chapters, the answer is probably. It depends what I come up with for the chapters.
Toasty_Tea913 Q: Did any major original plans ever end up changing as you continued to write?
A: YES!! Wren and Landon were originally supposed to be friends with benefits for a while. That was like the whole plot when I first thought of this story. They were supposed to be friends with benefits, Landon would fall first and Wren would push him away. I kinda turned away from that plot because it was going to be more smutty than I wanted it to be. Fox and the rest of the family weren't supposed to find out about Landon until after Christmas and I was struggling with figuring out how to make them all find out. As I was plotting it out, them all finding out happened before Christmas. Wren was supposed to take a trip to Boston to talk to Fox after Fox found out to try to fix things between them.
German774Â Q: Does Landon's dad ever get legal consequences for the fucked up things he did? Does Landon ever bottom? Would there be a bonus chapter of them and Fox and Elijah on a double date?
A: The consequence Landon's dad gets is that his daughter doesn't have to live with him anymore, so he lost both of his kids. The police did get involved with removing Livi from their care, but the only evidence she had was what they had done to her, not what the dad had done to Landon so there were no legal consequences for that.
Originally, there was going to be a scene where Landon bottomed, but I couldn't find a spot for it so I just got rid of it, so I'd say he eventually does.
There could potentially be a double date bonus chapter.
Aloserlikeme182Â Q: Do you think Landon's parents would ever change their views, maybe when they've grown older, and have gone many, many years without speaking to their children?
A: I think that they are too set in their ways. Landon's father will blame Landon's sexuality on why he turned out the way he did and he'll blame Landon for why Livi left. I don't think Landon's father thinks he did anything wrong. Their mother might be a little different and regret losing the both of them and grow to resent her husband for it.
voidstylidia Q: Do you think you'll ever publish these books?
A:Â I don't think I will, at least not right now. They need MAJOR revisions (all my books on here are technically first drafts) and they need to be cut way down because they're super long for traditionally published romance books. I'd rather focus on writing more new stories than fixing these ones to try to get them published, but that could change in the future. I'm just not sure yet, but there are no plans.
Beeps21Â Q: What will be your next book?
Gavinhe Q: Do you have plans for a next book?
A: My next book is called "Alone Together" and I'll start posting it soon. I also have plans for two more books that are interconnected, but not connected with any of my other books (kind of like how On Thin Ice and Ice Cold are connected).
UKILOVEITÂ Q: Will you make a book for Jake?
A: I'm going to be honest. I did have plans to write a Jake book and I have even written a couple chapters of it, but I never got further than that. I want to say there's a slight possibility that I write a book for him, but it's very slight at this point. I've kind of already closed the door on it. I'd rather focus on the new ideas I have.
telleryazmine Q: What makes Landon and Wren your favorite couple?
A: I just had the most fun writing them. I think they're the most interesting couple out of all the ones I've written, partly because of their complicated history. I also just feel like they're two guys that probably shouldn't work as a couple, but do, and I love couples like that.
Unknown-Number-Â Q: What do you see Landon doing with his life post college?
A: He might continue working at a youth hockey camp over the summers during school and that could inspire him to open his own hockey camp/facility so he could continue with hockey after school without having to try for the NHL.
myboywoowon Q: When is the wedding?
A: Some day.
telleryazmine Q: Have you ever gotten super emotional while writing/creating Landon's story? Were there moments when you had to take breaks from writing his story so the you could recuperate and finish writing?
A:Â No, his whole story lived in my mind for a long time, so it wasn't particularly emotional for me to write it. I don't tend to get emotional when I'm writing. I do when I'm reading things, but I think writing is kind of in a different head space for me so it doesn't make me emotional.
guccigasms Q: What were the sequence of events that led to James and Anthony finally getting together?
A: James finally realizing how bad he wanted Anthony and he got jealous seeing him with other guys at the bar, which made Anthony mad, then James kissed him the next day in front of Wren and Landon. They talked after that and they agreed not to commit to anything with each other before going on winter break and they would talk again after the break. They kept in touch during their winter break and even visited each other at some points, then when they got back to school they reconnected.
amboisemiloveda Q: Are you going to be doing any side stories of our favorite characters or couples? What's everyone's majors? What are their hopes and dreams?
A: There's always a potential for bonus chapters for any of my books. If something comes to me, I'll write it.
Wren's major is cognitive science, Landon is undecided but will probably go into some type of business major. I don't know their hopes and dreams.
huaaaerxl Q: Do you see Landon and Wren growing old together?
A: Yes, I think they're together for the long haul.
Arizaaaidk Q: Will Wren and Landon have a baby and if so, what would be the name?
A: I don't know if I see them having kids to be honest.
Zuray_Â Q: Will there ever be a bonus chapter of when Landon got outed at church?
A: Probably not. I was going to do a flashback scene to this moment in this book, but I decided against it.
lancexwrench Q: What does Wren think about being Landon's first person he ever had sex with?
A: I don't think he thinks about that much. He's confident that he and Landon make each other feel good, so it doesn't really matter to him that he's the only one he's been with in that way.
IS483LL4Â Q: Was Wren and Landon being together something you had in mind before you started posting On Thin Ice? Were they always meant to be together?
Would there be a bonus chapter where Landon and Livi visit Peter (their dad) in jail if he's faced with legal consequences?
Was this book going to be a slow burn like how you thought On Thin Ice was going to be?
Will there be a bonus chapter where Wren and Landon adopt a pet or a child?
A: No, I didn't decide this until toward the end of On Thin Ice. I didn't always have a plan for them. To be honest, when I first started writing On Thin Ice, neither of them even existed in my head.
No, there won't be a chapter like this because their dad isn't in jail. There could be a chapter where they interact with him again, but I don't know yet.
Yes and no. This book was supposed to be shorter, but it was also supposed to have Wren and Landon as friends with benefits and not getting together until toward the end of the book.
There could be a pet chapter!
vedica02Â Q: Were there some things you wanted to write differently but didn't for some reason?
A: Yeah, there were some things that didn't really pan out the way I thought they would, but that happens a lot. Sometimes as I'm writing, I get to a spot where I need something to happen, but it wouldn't make sense within the context I created so I have to tweak it. This happened with the whole part about Wren's family finding out about Landon.
Dekuspamms Q: Are all of your books in the same universe?
A: Kind of. I want to say yes, but I hesitate because I don't want people to take that answer and think I'm hinting toward crossovers. I have no plans to write any crossovers. I didn't write these books thinking about them not being in the same universe.
boobsiess Q: Will there be any more spinoffs in the universe?
A: I don't currently have plans for any spinoffs.
january87432Â Q: Full middle names for the Ridleys.
A: Robin Leonard Ridley, Raven Lilian Ridley, Wren Lucas Ridley, Fox Lee Ridley, Fawn Lydia Ridley, Colt Liam Ridley.
gaybagpipe Q: Do any of your characters remind you of yourself?
A: I think there's a little bit of me in all of them, but I don't think any of them are 100% me writing myself into the story.
rab4life Q: Were there real people that inspired Landon and Wren in your life or just imaginary? Which character would you say you relate to the most out of all your books?
A: They're just imaginary. I don't know anyone like them.
I probably relate the most to Carson.
axesmellsterrible Q: Are there any scenes/moments you decided to eliminate from the story or any that were included that you considered taking out?
A: Â There are a couple flashbacks to Landon's life with his father that I eliminated just because I felt like some of them were things we already knew (like him being outed at church) and having the flashback wouldn't add anything to the story, so I took them out. There's nothing in the book that I considered taking out.
