I wake up to a loud ringing I know it's not my alarm so I'm guessing it's Hopes so I unwrap myself from behind Hope and gently wake her
"Yes?" Is she serious? "can't you hear that loud ringing?" She gets up and looks to the corner "There's a new monster" I groan and bury my head in the pillow "Get me when it becomes a immediate threat" I hear her chuckle and leave and I fall back into a dreamless sleep
I wake up to Hopes voice and her placing kisses on my face I open my eyes and i am greeted by her beautiful blue ones
"Morning gorgeous" I smile at her "Morning love" she smiles and kisses me again "Get up we have classes soon" I groan but get up anyway and get ready when I'm finished Hope is waiting with a big smile
"What's got you so happy this morning?" She laughs "Being your girlfriend" she says as she reaches out a hand I raise an eyebrow but take her hand and we walk to the cafeteria to get some breakfast we sit with Landon and Rafael
"Hey!" Hope says rather happily not that I don't like her happy mood this is kinda weird
"Hey Hope, Ava" I nod and send a smile to them I decided to be nice to Landon because if my theory is right then I'll have to win him over for the anchor task
"Mmm. Sweet, sweet carbs" Hope says as she picks up some pastry I raise an eyebrow "Somebody's in a really good mood" I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks she acting strange
"Hmm. Just woke up on the right side of the bed, I guess" she looks at me and gives me a wink and I give a tight lipped smile. Ok something is definitely wrong
"For the first time ever?" Hope giggles as the twins walk up
"Good morning, Rafael" he looks to them awkwardly I must have missed something "Hi uh how was your trip?"
"Excellent. Thank you. And welcome back, Landon"
"Didn't you vote me out?"
"That's all in the past" they turn to me and smile at me which I return "Thank you for the birthday gift"
"Of course"
"Now, is everyone as excited as I am about tonight?" My eyebrow twist in confusion "What's happening tonight?" Hope laughs "The school's annual talent show. All the factions compete. You know, the witch performance wouldn't be the same without you two" now she's complementing Lizzie maybe they made up?
"Thank you" they both say and Hope looks at me with a look I don't understand and I narrow my eyes "what?" She chuckles "we should do a talent together" I fake a chuckle
"No thanks" she gives me puppy dogs eyes "Please I never got to do it before since I would be alone but now I have you, We can be the tribrid duo" them puppy dog eyes are definitely convincing me but she leans forward and whispers in my ear "I'll let you do anything you want with me" my eyes widen
"I'm in" some sort of music comes from the speakers of the school and then Alarics voice comes through
"If I could have your attention. Last night we were able to capture a monster here on the grounds. We have everything under control. But given this potential danger, it is with a heavy heart that I must postpone the talent show. Hopefully, we'll be able to reschedule this... unique event... at a later date. A much, much later date" students groan in protest and I frown I definitely didn't want to do a talent but that anything from Hope would have been good
Hope chuckles "Kind of overkill if you ask me. I told your dad that a unicorn barely counts as a monster" the twins storm off in the direction of Alarics and after awhile the music happens again
"Good news, friends. The talent show is going on as previously scheduled" students Cheer at the announcement
"So, Lizzie's acting weird" Landon says and I turn to him "She not the only one" I say as I direct my attention to Hope she just looks at me with a bright smile "I'm going to library come get me when you figure out what you want to do" she leans in and gives me a passionate kiss I pull back "Bye gorgeous" I sigh
"Bye love" I walk to the library and once I get there I make my way towards the section of the library that I haven't read yet I start vamp speeding finishing multiple books after a hour or so I see Landon walk in and I walk up to him
"Hey Landon" he looks at me confused which isn't surprising since I never speak to him unless I have to "Hi?" I sigh
"I wanted to apologise at the way I have been treating you I was angry at my father and then you can along having history with Hope and to distract myself I focused on jealousy" it was a complete truth after Emma confronted me about it. I thought on it and it made sense I'm not sorry though especially since he tried to kiss Hope and was speaking to his mother about Hope I still don't like him but if he is to be the anchor then I have to play nice
"Why is everyone being weird today?" I raise an eyebrow he's probably talking about Hope and Lizzie I'm pretty sure it has to do with the monster but Hope seems happy and I don't want to ruin it
"Yea I'm pretty sure it's the monster that's making them that way but I'm being serious"
"Oh okay then your forgiven" I smile that was easier then I thought now to play nice until my suspicions are confirmed I could just snap his neck now but it's a 50/50 that my theory is right so I'll let nature take it's course just as he's about to say something else Hope walks up and kisses me on the cheek "Hey gorgeous i know what we're doing for the talent show" I mentally frown but smile at Hope.

"If it's gooey, then it's not done" Hope says as she pulls a stick from the cake I mumble in agreement never in my life have I made a cake but I don't think cake decorating is a talent "Are you sure cake decorating
counts as a talent? I could just make some pretty explosions with magic"
"Well that sounds like a safety hazard so it's ether cake decorating or synchronized ribbon dancing" I frown at synchronized ribbon dancing yea there's no way I'm doing that
"Cake decorating it is" she chuckles "Don't worry your gonna like it" I smile as I jump up on the counter "I'm sure I will maybe as much as this new attitude you have"
"Yeah?" She stands between my legs "The only thing..." she leans closer to me about to kiss me "that would make this day better..." she's inches away from my lips and I believe I'd give her just about anything right now "...is if we went and got rid of that urn" I freeze urn? Hmm I definitely heard that before. urn? My eyebrows knit in confusion
Oh it's the artifact that definitely shouldn't just be thrown away "Okay you've had your fun, Time to get rid of whatever infection you got from the monster" she chuckles and ignores my reply "It'll be fun. It'll be like a road trip. We'll just grab the damn thing and take it wherever it leads us."
"As much fun as a road trip sounds taking the urn is a bad idea come on we're taking you to Alaric" I say as I stand up from the counter and grab her arm "We can talk about it on the road" I smell burning and look to the oven and see it's smoking
"The cake!" I rush towards it and open the oven and smoke fills the room "Hope, turn on the vent" she goes to vent and presses a switch "Oh, my God!" I turn towards her a she's looking a some slug crawling I grab a knife and stab through it and it screeches
"What is that?" I shrug looking at the weird slug

"Mr. Williams, we need your help. Dr. Saltzman's been MIA, and this creepy slug came out of my ear" Dorian holds up a jar with the same looking slug that came out of Hopes ear "did it look like this?" We nod
"This one tried getting into me. I was hoping it was the only one. I think our harmless friend the unicorn brought it onto school grounds to infect all of us" all of a sudden the unicorn falls to the ground and dies
"See...Harmless" we all head to Alarics office and sit down and discuss how we are gonna find out who is infected
"Okay, we have no idea how long the unicorn was infected before it keeled over, so we should figure this out right now"
"I thought only one monster comes for the urn at a time"
"Except the unicorn wasn't the monster. It was just the host to this thing. A parasite. It hitched a ride here in that Trojan horse, and then it moved on to us" he pauses for a second
"From what Hope describes, it sounds like it latches onto the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain associated with inhibitions"
"So, I was slug-drunk?" Hope interjects and I let out a small chuckle.
"Since we have multiple slugs, it must replicate inside the host, and then lie in wait for the opportunity to infect someone else"
"I'm good on the gory details, thank you" Hopes says as she grimaces and shifts in her seat
"How do we stop it?"
"That's the weirdest part. I can't find any ancient legends about a creature like this"
"Hope wanted to take the urn someplace. I'm guessing Malivore. So, it's like an infection. It gets worse as it spreads. Stage one, it-it lowers your inhibitions. It makes you act out of character. Stage two, once you're susceptible to suggestion, you'll do whatever the slug wants..."
"Till stage three You go the way of the unicorn" Landon finishes the rest of my explanation
"We just need to figure how to shock the infected and without killing them" everyone nods and Hope looks at the slug again
"Did you see this? Parts of this thing
look bioluminescent"
"Let me check that out" Dorian grabs a light from Alarics desk and lifts it to the slug and slowly moves it to to Hopes face and it has a bunch of slug trails on her face which are lit up from the light we all grimace
"See that?" Dorian says
"Yes and ew no more kissing" Hope looks at me and raises an eyebrow "I don't want to know, do I?" We shake our heads
"You know what? We can use these lights to find anyone who's been infected" she passes us some lights and we go on the hunt for and infected

After Rafael spoken poetry and him obviously pointing out his crush on Hope during it we find out everyone is infected and run out spelling the door shut
"You danced with Rafael?" I say looking at Hope with a raised eyebrow "I was helping him for Lizzie birthday"
"And now he has a crush on you" I chuckle and she narrows her eyes at me "No he doesn't"
"Agree to disagree we need to figure out how to shock everyo-
"What are you three doing out here?" Hope and Landon quickly grab Lizzie and tie her to a chair "Have you two gone crazy?"
"You've been infected with a mind-controlling parasite. That's why you've been so nice all day" Landon explains to her
"Um before we do anything more drastic maybe we should check her first" I lift the light and no slug trails are on her "She isn't infected"
"Then why are you acting so weird?" I start untying Lizzie once I'm done she stands up
"I'm not acting weird, I am turning over a new leaf. With this... I spelled it to zap me whenever I said anything mean" I chuckle
"That's why there's no slug in her. She's been zapping herself"
"Have any of you seen Josie?" We all shake our heads but I have an idea who she's with
"She's been acting weird all day and then she just bailed on the performance"
"She probably infected"
"We need to find her now"

After finding Josie kissing Penelope which I was very happy about those two just need a push in the right direction and they will be together again. We got rid of the infection from all the students and everyone went back to their dorms to recharge I'm sitting in my dorm reading through my journal while Hope showers she walks out
"Hey So it took three showers, but I think I'm finally clean. what you doing?" She comes and sits on my bed our shoulders brushing "Reading through my notes for the other side. You should have invited me in the shower with you" she chuckles and smacks me on the shoulder but then returns her gaze to look at my journal and groans "Do you have to write in Latin I can't read it" I chuckle "That's the whole point so nobody can read it" she huffs "Read it to me?" I smile and get more comfortable reading through everything I have so far leaving out the fact I'm bringing people back
"All we need is an anchor I have a theory but I waiting for that theory to take its course" She raises an eyebrow "What theory?" I explain to her what creature I think Landon is I've only ever heard of it once but it makes sense she just looks at me shocked
"We just have to wait until he dies and being in a supernatural school I don't think we have to wait long"
"You can't say things like that"
"Well it's just a theory but it's most likely going to happen ether way a have a present for you" I smile as I get up she smiles "You need to stop buying me stuff" I chuckle as I grab a box out of my draw "It's my love language" I open the box to reveal a gold ring "Are you proposing?" My eyes widen but then I see her teasing smirk
"Not just yet" I gently grab her hand and place the ring on her finger "It's spelled with that immortality spell I made" she smiles and get on her knees and kisses me "Thank you I'm gonna have to start getting you expensive jewellery"
"No I don't want anything in return these gifts are for your protection too" she kisses me again and our kisses get more heavy and passionate she falls back and brings me on top of her she places rough and passionate kisses to my neck and I let out small moans
"Did....you maybe...um want..." I look at her and know what she's means and only a stupid person would decline I nod and kiss her again and the rest of the night of the night is filled with moans sweat and whispers of sweet nothings.
