I wake up to the sound of whimpering and look to my left and see hope having what looks like a nightmare I gently nudge her
"Hope? Wake up" she doesn't wake so I try again "Hope Wake up" suddenly she jumps out of her sleep and I go flying into some paints next time wear my necklace to bed
"Oh my god Ava, Are you okay" I stand up and look at her "umm...are you?" She looks at me confused "What happened?"
"You looked like you were having a nightmare and I tried to wake you and you flung me across the room with your magic" I look down at my body and see I'm covered in paint I look back at her and see that she looks guilty. I smirk and jump back onto the bed rubbing the paint all over her while she giggles "Now we both are covered in the paint this requires a shower" I smirk at her and she gets up and drags me to the shower
Once we finish and were ready yesterday it was revealed that Landon is a Phoenix just like I thought he was so today I'm going to be trying to convince him to be the anchor. I go to Alaric's office as much as I think he's incapable to deal with supernatural problems he seems to know Hope the best I knock on his office and he tells me to come in.
"Hey, Alaric can we talk?" He looks up from his papers "Yea of course" he motions me to sit down I sit and look at him "what are you working on?" As much as I don't care I've been told that it's nice to make a little small talk to humans he raises an eyebrow "some Phoenix research for Landon"
"I can give you my research I kinda had a suspicion that Landon was Phoenix but no actual evidence"
"And you didn't tell me why?"
Because You're a human trying to control the young minds of the supernatural world
"I wasn't a hundred per cent sure" he just goes back to looking at his paperwork "so what did you want to talk about?"
"Hope I'm worried about her she- I see he's looking at my neck weirdly I raise an eyebrow at him "You have a little-" he motions to his neck I wipe and pull my hand back and see some blue paint and sigh "Hope threw me into some paints this morning I think her magic might be acting out a bit" he nods at me
"I'll speak to her in our training session" I nod at him and stand up "Thank you Alaric" it seems he's not useless I walk out and walk back to my room and see Hope getting ready for training "Hey, can you give this to Alaric?" I grab all my Phoenix research out of my draw and pass it to her "Yea" I look at her suspiciously because of her one-word answer
"Are you okay?" She looks up at me from the papers I just gave her and nods "Okay then I'll see you later" I kiss her on the cheek and walk out to search for Landon I spot him outside on the dock
"Hey Landon" he looks up from the book he's reading "Hey Ava" he smiles at me, okay Ava remember humans like small talk even though now Landon is a supernatural being he spent all his life thinking he's human so smile and be friendly "How are you doing with the whole Phoenix thing?" I sit beside him on the dock and watch his reaction he smiles gently
"I'm grateful that I finally know what I am and that I belong at the school" I smile at him "and all it took was for you to go through a traumatic death" he chuckles lightly and I realise that maybe I was a bit hard on Landon he seems nice
"I gave some information to Alaric about being a Phoenix it should help you out a bit on finding out about yourself"
"Thank you, to be honest, I thought you hated me" I did at first and it's gonna take a while for me to like him for real but at this moment he swaying me towards liking him "well I did but now I'm hoping that you can consider me as a friend?" He smiles and nods lightly
After a while of talking to Landon he returns inside well I sit at the dock for a while and that's when I hear a light tapping noise in the woods I brush it off at first but once it seems to be in a pattern I look carefully in the woods and I see the figure of someone run away once I do I stand up and walk over following them while listening to the heartbeat of the person once
Once I'm deep in the woods I'm suddenly pinned against a tree my eyes widen as the figure walks out
"Mother?" She smirks slightly and lowers me from the tree but keeps me pinned against it my eyes can't seem to leave the woman "Hello my little witch" I grimace at the old nickname she use to call me. I look down at my necklace trying to figure out why it isn't working "I'm the one who spelled that necklace I made a loophole"
I snap out of my surprised expression and send her a glare "How are you alive?" All she does is chuckle "Silly girl immortality spell I raised you better than to ask stupid questions" the only person on this earth that can make me feel like an imbecile "Yes right up until you help my father to dagger me and put me in a coffin for centuries"
"We did it because you lose control" I scoff "Because you treated me like a weapon instead of a daughter" she doesn't seem to like that since now her hold on me is starting to hurt
"I made you a powerful being! You should be grateful!" I shake my head a let out a chuckle "I didn't ask for it you trick me into it and even after that I embraced what you made me!" she starts choking me with her magical hold after a few seconds she lets me go again "Always ungrateful" I roll my eyes
"What do you want?" This piques her interest and she lets me go completely "I need you to kill somebody" I let out a loud laugh at her and she glares at me "Why would I do anything for you?"
"Because this affects you too there is another tribrid and we want her dead she breaking nature's cycle" my face remains neutral but my inside is shocked there is only one other tribrid and that's Hope at my silence she continues "The ancestors want her dead and they are mad at me for creating you this will redeem me and you"
"The ancestors aren't connected to my magic how does this affect me"
"This tribrid is a Mikaelson and the Mikaelsons are mad at us so I believe that this tribrid is a danger to you" I smirk Hope is no danger to me "you mean the Mikaelson are mad at you and father for your and his betrayal"
"You are a Williams you are a part of this too if the Mikaelson come for you-
"Then I'll be fine on my own" I'm sure that if the Mikaelsons were a danger then I would be able to handle them myself but they're not and I would consider us more allies than enemies I look to my mother who seem like she going to pop a vein any minute now "I have to go" I start to walk off
"Your father is alive Ava, and you will do this task or we are all in danger" Anger courses through my veins at the mention of my father as I continue walking. I don't know how she found out I'm here and not Hope but she is in for a surprise when she finds out my true relationship with Hope.
I find myself about to walk back into the school that's when Hope grabs my hands and pulls me towards a bunch of animals I didn't see before "what's going on?"
"Mystic falls pageant" I sigh as much as Hope has calmed me down just by being in my presence my anger doesn't seem to thin any less and hearing about a bloody pageant doesn't make me feel better "Great" she looks for a second "Are you okay?" I can't tell her about my mother she already seems to be unstable and she will definitely freak out and that's probably not best in a school full of humans
"I'm fine I'm guessing we have something to do?" She doesn't seem to buy it but explains what we are doing which is to sort out the animals after a while of me only listening to Hope's instructions instead of any other talk Landon approaches with some sort of animal
"Hey, Hope. Do you have any idea where these guys go?" Hope looks at him "Yeah, anywhere but with the birds. The ravens and the finches are fine, but the rats drive the owls crazy" he follows the instructions and walks back over I don't listen to their conversation because all I can think about is the ways I can kill my father. I walk over to them after I've finished my job "Need me to do anything else?"
"Nope everything is done-" she looks over my shoulder and I see a blonde man standing there and sends a wave to Hope "Who's that?"
"My ex-boyfriend roman" my anger seems to escalate when I hear his name Hope told me how he helped kill her mother but she has forgiven him for some reason he walks over and I send him a fake smile but Landon steps in front I'm guessing Hope also told Landon since he kinda puffs out his chest and tries to seem intimidating my eyebrows knit in confusion
"I'm Landon I'm a Phoenix" I look to Hope to see if I'm imagining this but it seems real since she looks confused too I step forward "Don't worry he's harmless" I send him a fake smile and extend my hand he takes it with a smile and once our hands connect I crush his hand breaking it I lean forward "If you ever hurt her or anyone she cares about again I will kill you...painfully" I whisper maliciously I lean back and smile at him with our hands still connected "Understand?" I squeeze a little hard and he winces and nods I let go
"Well my name is Ava Williams nice to meet you Roman" I send him the fakest smile even though my insides are burning with rage he rubs his hand and backs away "I better go find Dr Saltzman" he walks off I turn back to Hope and Landon "That was a bit alpha male of you..." she says to Landon then turns to me "....and a bit alpha female of you"
"No that was a threat" she narrows her eyes at me but all I can think about at this moment is my mother and father being alive and still trying to control me "I'm going to ask Alaric for another task" I walk off not bothering asking Alaric for another task so I head to the library to try and find the spell my mother spelled my necklace with I can't let her get the upper hand like that again.
After vamp speeding around and through about a hundred magic books I find nothing so I retreat to my room searching through some of my grimoires and find nothing again. I look down at my bracelet and see that it's glowing I sigh and get up and I walk to where my bracelet is leading me and I find myself in front of the twin's room.
"Hello?" The twins and Hope are in the room and they all look at me "Great your here" I look to Hope "This bracelet is for emergencies and you don't look like you're in danger"
"Sorry, but we couldn't find you" I look to Lizzie "What do you want?" It may be harsh but my anger is taking over at the moment "Your gonna be Hope's date for the mystic falls pageant"
I look to Hope "You're going to enter the pageant" she nods "Are you sure your magic is freaking out and I don't think added stress is gonna help you" she scoffs "Suddenly everyone's got a psychology degree around here"
"No, you are showing signs that you are losing control and I just didn't think blinding lights and everyone's attention on you is gonna help that"
"I'm fine!" The room rattles at her outburst and I raise an eyebrow "If that didn't just prove my point I don't know what will"
"It's fine I'm sure I can find someone else to do it...like Landon" my anger doubles tenfold and I feel my vamp face come out while Hope and I have a stare down I hear Lizzie clear her throat "No Ava will do it she's well spoken and she can charm the judges" my glare goes to Lizzie I don't know who she thinks is bossing me around my anger doesn't die down
"Believe it or not Lizzie you can't control me like the rest of the school...Now please be quiet before I silence you permanently" yes it was harsh but my anger seems to have control of me at this moment I walk away from them while they all have shocked faces in search of anything that can calm me and with Hope also on the verge of losing control I don't think she can help at this moment.
I enter my room to carry on looking through my grimoire I have two left from my coven I took a tiny trip yesterday to get. After a while of looking through them, I find a similar spell I'm guessing my mother improved it improves my mood so I make my way out of the room to apologise to Hope I enter the main area where I see people about to practice a dance
Hope is standing with Landon and I walk over they look at me "Still need a date?"
"No Landon has filled in" I scoff and look to Landon and I know I'm about to ruin this new friendship we've made "Landon please busy yourself elsewhere so I can accompany my girlfriend" he looks at me trying to keep a stern face I'm guessing finding out he is a Phoenix has made him a bit brave "No" is all he says
"Landon leave before I show all these people how to kill a Phoenix" his face drops into one of fear and walks off I smile to Hope and as I do everyone seems to get into the position I hold out my hand to Hope and she takes it with an eye roll
"Honor your partner," judge Vera says and everyone follows the instruction me and Hope bow to each other and stand back up straight "I'm sorry about earlier"
"Right hand around, flirt with your eyes"
"What made you lash out," she asks me and I avoid eye contact "I'll tell you later"
"Left hand around" me and Hope comply with the instruction
"You know if you stopped keeping secrets then life would be a bit easier for you" my eyes widen I wasn't expecting that
"Both hands"
"You're a good dancer let me guess Rebekah taught you?" she scoffs and looks away for a second to see Josie fake to fall but Penelope caught her which earns praise from Vera "I only suspected you were keeping secrets and now I know you are since you deflected the question" I don't know which secret she talking about but either one can't be discussed now "Just tell me," she says in a demanding tone and the room shakes and glasses smash I look to Hope and we step away from each other as we look around
"You know life would be a lot easier if you listened to me," I say mocking her tone from earlier and referring to the fact that I told her not to do this pageant
Before Hope could say anything Lizzie comes over "Hope you're coming with me" she drags Hope away I sigh in annoyance as I walk back to my room I sit on my bed and close my eyes thinking about the two problems I have I can't exactly deal with the second now so I deal with the other side problem first. The other side is being created today with Landon as the anchor.
