I'm in the Salvatore library reading through more werewolf mating books. Alaric and Hope have gone to investigate a burnt bus that is believed to be Landon who did it Hope found out by doing black magic with Joise kinda sad she didn't ask me but-
"Hey" I look up to see Penelope walking over and snapping me out of my thoughts "Hey what's up?"
I've definitely got the hang of the present day terms but obviously my English accent is still there
"Are you avoiding me?" She asks me I look at her confused why would I avoid her I think for a second what could she of possibly done.
"Um no? Why?"
"Because of our kiss" ohhh she thinks I'm avoiding her because I didn't like the kiss
"Oh no I'm not avoiding you" she looks at me and quirks a eyebrow so I continue "It was nice kiss and everything but I'm not interested" she laughs
"I'm not angry and don't want anything from you just thought you was being all awkward about the kiss"
"Nope I don't mind being friends who kiss sometimes" she chuckles lightly
"So can I join you?"
"Of course im not doing anything interesting though just reading"
She sends me a smile and sits next to me looking at the book after a while of reading and talking a bit we both make our way back to our dorm I walk in and Hope isn't back yet I look over to her side and see the art supplies and decide that I want to paint
I'm pretty sure Hope won't mind I grab some stuff that I need and sit down near the window painting all the trees and grass and sky once I'm finish I sign my name and leave it on Hopes side I go wash my hands. I sit on my bed for a while and finish the book I was reading earlier Hope walks in with an angry look.
"Bad day?" She looks at me and her face softens "Yea Landon burnt a whole bus full of people we are going tomorrow to go look for him?"
"I'll help"
She looks at me confused "You don't even like Landon" I shrug "If I get to help you I won't mind" she smiles and I smile back getting lost in her blue eyes I think blue is my new favourite colour she clears her throat and looks away and gets ready for bed she walks to her side of room and stops in her tracks
"Did you paint this?" She holds up my painting and I look over to her
"Yea consider it a present since I use all your stuff to make it" I look back at my book and I hear thank me while looking at the painting with an unknown look in her eyes. I put down my book and get under the covers "Goodnight hope" and with that I fall asleep.
I wake up to hope calling me "Ava wake up we have to go" I groan and get up "Why did I offer my help?" I hear her laugh as I go into the bathroom and get ready I come out and walk over to Hope "I better be your favourite person after this" Hope smiles "Don't worry you already are" my heart flutters
"Good"
We walk outside to see Rafael underneath Alaric car "Is that the car we're taking?" I look at hope and she nods. We walk over to the car.
"Hello?" Hope says and Rafael slides from underneath the car "Hey" and with that he slides back underneath "What are you doing?"
"Adjusting the sway bar"
"Was it broken?" Hope asks annoyed something snaps and he comes back out "It's is now"
"You're going after Landon. If you want this car to work, I'm going with you"I smirk it's a good plan if he wants to come
"You should stay out of it. He's a liar and a thief" Hope snaps back viciously and I wonder what Landon did to hurt Hope so bad it can't be just because of the knife.
"He took a stupid knife"
"This is a school full of historical magic items so nothing in this school is a stupid" I add into the conversation he just looks at me for second and looks back to Hope
"Look he's my best friend. And you? You seem vengeful"
"Let me show you something. Close your eyes" Hope walks up to him I guess to show him what she saw on the bus she puts her hands on his neck.
"What the hell was that?" He steps away from Hope
"Your best friend did that to a bus full of people on Route 29 last night, and I am the only one who knows how to find him, so give me the engine thingy"I Chuckle and she glared at me and I clear my throat and be quiet.
"No"
"I have actual magic powers"
"And I have a long history of anger issues"
"She also has 800 year old tribrid friend who could snap your neck in a second" I smirk at him and flash my vamp face.
Alaric appears and says "He can come" finally this petty like argument is finished I did enter it but to defend Hope ether way it was still petty.
"What?"
"He knows Landon; he'll be an asset. And we need all the help we can get, so fix the car and hop in" Hope huffs I walk over to the passenger seat and open it for her and then walk to open my car door "And put on a shirt" Alaric says as he enters the car.

We're currently walking through a forest trying to find Landon "Don't know why he's still out here. He has a whole day's lead on us. He could be anywhere"
"Maybe 'cause he doesn't have a reason to run"
Hope scoffs "Logic that would be perfectly believable if he hadn't, you know, ran"
I hear a twig snap "Wait someones here" I look in the direction and I vamp speed over "Wait Ava!" I hear Alaric call after me I stop in front of a woman who has dirt all over her
"Are you okay?" She doesn't answer and Alaric runs over "I-It's okay. We're not gonna hurt you"
"Is she a survivor?"
"I think so she smells like smoke"
Hope and Rafael finally join us "Try to compel her Ava" I nod
"Tell me what happened to you?" She just stares at me "It's not working she must be on vervain"
"Im starting to think you can't actually compel people" hope says with a teasing smirk I walk over to Rafael and look him in the eye "Get on all fours and bark like a dog" he gets on the floor and starts barking "you can stop now" he quickly gets up and brushes himself off I give Hope a smug smile while I feel Rafael glare.
"Look, I need to get her to the police so she she can get some medical attention. Uh, why don't you two go ahead? Don't engage. We don't know how dangerous Landon is"
"He's not dangerous..."Rafael interjects
"I said don't engage"

We're once again walking through the woods and once again Rafael and hope are arguing I tune out until I hear
"So I can be as popular and well-liked as you? Yeah, I've been at the school for two days and I've already heard all about Hope Mikaelson and her sunny disposition" I definitely don't like the way he speaking to Hope for some reason I feel the need to protect her.
"Watch it Rafael" I say in a low tone and flash my vamp face "Stop trying to make powerful enemies" he sighs
"I'll get you the stupid, not-stupid knife and the answers you want. I promise"
"And why should I believe you?"
"Because I don't lie" Hope chuckles as he says this "Everyone lies" I frown thinking on how she must of gotten hurt in the past.
"He's in the root cellar. You have three minutes to do this your way"
"Wait, the headmaster said don't engage"
"Two minutes, 59. Two minutes, 58" And with that Rafael runs into the root cellar Hope turns to me "Thanks for having my back" her cold look has now change to a soft smile.
"It's no problem at all we're friends Right?" I walk closer to her and I can smell her scent she's like a magnet for me when I see her I just want to be close to her
"Yes" she smiles "Come on" she grabs my hand and starts walking towards the cellar I feel the feeling I felt in the woods that night with the white wolf it suddenly hits me it's Hope.
Hope was the wolf that night I pull my hand back and she looks at me "It was you in the woods" I blink frantically
"Come on we can speak later" and with that she walks into the cell and I stand there shocked I don't walk in I stay trying to figure out my thoughts it's not that I mind hope being my mate but she knew and didn't tell me and for some reason that hurts more than anything else maybe she doesn't want me as a mate.
I'm pulled from my thoughts when Alaric grabs onto me and pulls me into the cellar
"There's a fire breathing woman running through the woods" What the hell did I miss
"Did I or did I not say "don't engage"?"
"He's only dangerous if crappy apologies can kill"
I just sit on the stairs to the cellar keeping quiet
"-I lost it in the woods. I was running around in circles all night trying to find a place to hide" I hear his heart skip a beat at the mention of him losing it.
"He's lying" I tell them
"What the hell, Lan"
"I'm sorry I panicked" he takes the knife out of his pocket the door start to open I'm guess the woman has found us I stand up
"Adiuuatur" I chant the spell and the doors close and lock tight
"I need a phone"
"Take your pick" Landon says as he points to a barrel with a lot of stolen goods I sit back down near the door ignoring the conversation once again.
So after a long conversation with Darion we find out that the dragon needs to be killed with a sword and we need to find a soft spot I open the doors and the dragon is no where in sight until we hear a massive screech
"Ok humans and werewolf's need to take cover" everyone looks at me "I have a plan but I can't exactly save you guys from getting brunt to crisp and do it" with that Landon and Rafael go to the car Alaric looks at me for a second but complies and goes into the cellar I look over to Hope
"Look I know a spell but it's dark magic I'm immune to it so I'm doing it by myself"
"Like hell you are"
I turn to see the dragon now coming towards us Hope holds out her hand and I grab it hesitantly "Repeat after me"
I start chanting the spell and Hope joins in after a second the dragon gets smaller and smaller until it at our feet. Hope walks towards it with the knife.
"Where did you come from?.... Why do you want this so badly?..... What's so special about it?.....Say something" Hope questions but the woman doesn't answer after a moment the woman's eyes start to glow orange I vamp speed over and take the knife from Hope and stab the dragon lady in the chest.
Alaric walks out and bends down and picks up a piece of paper "What this? This is isn't earth magic Hope" it seems Hope had a plan of her own I don't listen in and I walk into the cellar to get a shovel that I saw earlier I walk out and dig a grave for the woman everyone deserves a resting place.
Once I'm done digging a grave I see Hope sitting on a log crying all I do is wrap her in a hug and rub her back.

We walk back over to the car and don't see Landon or Rafael.
"Where are they?"
"Gone. I found this on the windshield when I got back"Alaric passes Hope a letter
I jump into the backseat of the car as alaric gets in the drivers seat waiting for Hope to finish. After a while she gets in and we drive back to the school.
"So are you going to tell me why you didn't tell me about us being mates?" I sit on my bed and look at hope.
"I'm sorry I did try to tell you twice but we got interrupted and then I couldn't find the courage to try again" I sigh I lie down disappointed with the answer
"Okay Hope, Good night" And then I fall asleep thinking about the days events.

A/N Hope your enjoying this is a secondary book so it won't be updated as frequently as my main book. Also I added a little bit of a Penelope romance because I liked her in the series I know a lot of people don't but I did in the end so she gonna be a recurring character. Have a nice day/night :)
