Side Story Chapter 148 - Tower of Creation (6)
[The âGod of Ruptureâ sponsors you with 200 Nebulas!]
[The âGod of Thunderâ sponsors you with 2,300 Nebulas!]
[The âGod of Ruptureâ sheds tears of blood!]
[The âGod of Ruptureâ sponsors you with 332 Nebulas!]
[The âGod of the Sunâ sponsors you with 3.500 Nebulas!]
[The âGod of Ruptureâ collapsed in desperation!]
âAhhh, I can feel the shower.â
Nebula was showering down from the night sky like a meteor shower.
âLooks like I managed to pull tons of attention.â
Kang-Woo smiled as he stared at the constant sponsor notifications.
âYeah, Iâd be pretty upset if I didnât get any sponsors after I put on that huge show.â
He had pulled off the unprecedented feat of climbing twenty floors in one day. He had not only just climbed; he even spun on his head like a human beyblade to the point that he caused a tornado. It was so stimulative that even the God of Games, who had been enjoying watching Kang-Woo, was shocked.
âBut it was worth it.â
Kang-Woo managed to engrave his name into the Constellationsâ minds. He was at least sure there had never been anyone crazy enough to climb the tower as they spun on their heads. He had pulled off something so unprecedented that it would remain in the towerâs history for a long time.
[The âGod of Endearmentâ sponsors you with 1,500 Nebulas!]
[The âGod of the Battlefieldâ sponsors you with 3,000 Nebula!]
As a result, the Constellations were showering him with endless Nebula even now.
âWow~ Thank you very much for your support~~!â
Kang-Woo bowed toward the influx of sponsor notifications. Unlike before, the average sponsor amount had reached four digits.
âI guess itâs only obvious. They all want me to be their apostle.â
He had reached the twentieth floor in one day without borrowing the power of the Constellationsâ while doing a handstand and spinning like a top, no less. What mattered was not his eccentric methods; what mattered was that he easily climbed the tower as he performed such eccentric acts.
âIn other words, they must be giddy with anticipation about how high I could go when I take things seriously.â
The Constellations werenât wrong; Kang-Woo could easily climb to the fortieth floor in one day if he took things seriously.
âThough the difficulty skyrockets the higher you climb, thatâs all there is to it.â
None of the floors he encountered had been difficult in any way so far and he doubted any of the higher ones would be either. Kang-Woo, who could now stand shoulder to shoulder with the Titans, would never have trouble with something created to select a guardian deity.
âBut Iâm not gonna climb all the way just yet.â
Kang-Woo could easily reach the top of the tower any time he liked but there was no need to climb it so quickly.
âI will be counting on your further support!! Thank you very much!!â
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ sponsors you with 3,700 Nebula!]
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ suggests you become his apostle!]
After all, squeezing the Constellations dry was of greater importance to him than conquering the tower at the moment.
âThank you for the kind offer.â Kang-Woo bowed courteously and continued, âBut I would like to keep climbing without assistance for now. I will consider becoming an apostle after some thought.â
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ expresses disappointment!]
Kang-Woo continued to get offers from here and there. As he expected, the apostles were opening the wallets they had been hiding to have Kang-Woo choose them as their apostles at whatever cost.
âYeah, Iâm sure youâre getting anxious.â
They would want to monopolize Kang-Woo as soon as possible before the big shots arrived.
Riiing!
[The âGod of Heavenâ is examining you from high above!]
[The âGod of Adventureâ is focusing on your story!]
âTheyâre here.â
They were the zeroth-tier big shot Constellations with the most influence in the Tower of Creation.
âLooks like the God of Depravity hasnât come yet.â
It didnât matter; he would also be latching on to Kang-Wooâs pants soon enough, begging Kang-Woo to be his apostle.
[The âGod of Heavenâ sponsors you with 10,000 Nebulas!!]
âHoly fuck. Ten thousand right off the bat?â
âWooooooooow~~!!!! A whopping ten thousand Nebula from the God of Heaven...!! A-Arenât you pushing yourself a little too hard?â
[The âGod of Adventureâ sponsors you with 10,000 Nebulas!!]
âMaaaaaaaaaaan~!! Ten thousand from the God of Adventure this time...!â
It was no wonder why they were called the big shots among the Constellations. The sponsors that had only been in the low thousands so far suddenly jumped up to five digits.
âYeah!!! Thatâs more like it!!â
Kang-Woo couldnât help but smile.
[The âGod of Heavenâ glares at the God of Adventure.]
[The âGod of Adventureâ snorts.]
Kang-Woo could easily tell there was a war of nerves going on between the two Constellations even without the message windows.
âThis is only the beginning.â
The big shots would compete against each other, sponsoring Kang-Woo more and more Nebula the more competitive they became.
[The âGod of Heavenâ sponsors you with 15,000 Nebula!!]
[The âGod of Adventureâ sponsors you with 20,000 Nebula!!]
[The âGod of Heavenâ sponsors you with 25,000 Nebula!!]
The Nebula sponsors continued to rise. Kang-Woo was bombarded with more Nebula than he had collected until now. The other Constellations were standing back in silence as the two whales went at each other.
[The âGod of Compassionâ sponsors you with 1 Nebula!]
âWhy does this one Nebula motherfucker keep sponsoring me?â
***
There was a killjoy in the midst but the sponsor battle between the God of Heaven and Adventure was getting hotter by the second.
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ turns around as he sighs deeply.]
[The âGod of Ruptureâ punches a wall in outrage.]
The other Constellations had turned away, unable to compete against the big shots. Kang-Woo stepped up as he was watching the battle unfolding.
âJust a moment, everyone,â he said to calm down the two Constellations.
The big shotsâ sponsors were important but he couldnât let that chase the other Constellations away.
âAt this rate, theyâll give up completely.â
He couldnât let the other Constellations leave because they felt inferior to the big shots.
âIâm gonna suck everyone dry.â
Kang-Woo had no intention to give up on any Nebula sponsors, big or small.
âConstellations, thank you all for your precious support. Youâve given me the courage to continue climbing the tower.â Kang-Woo smiled and turned around. âRight, then. I will resume the climb!â
He was on the twentieth floorâ to be more exact, he had only risen to the twentieth floor.
âItâs too early for them to go all in.â
Nebula was power and authority for the Constellations. Kang-Woo had climbed to the twentieth floor in one day but they were unsure whether Kang-Woo could conquer the remaining floors since the difficulty continued to rise with each floor. In other words, they might seem like they were showering Kang-Woo with Nebula but were likely hiding much more.
âThatâs probably why the third big shot isnât joining.â
Kang-Woo needed to prove his value even more.
There was also one more group of Constellations.
[The âGod of Victoryâ is anticipating your climb!]
[The âGod of Victoryâ sponsors you with 500 Nebulas!]
Some Constellations sponsored Nebula simply to be entertained, like the God of Games. No, there were a lot more than some.
âI heard there werenât that many, according to my research.â
It seemed the Constellations who observed humans for fun had all gathered toward Kang-Woo because of how shocking and fresh his process of climbing the first twenty floors was.
The Constellations looking for entertainment approached Kang-Woo in ways differing from other Constellations, such as this:
[The âGod of Victoryâ offers you a mission.]
[Reach the twenty-fifth floor using only your left arm.]
[Mission Clear Reward: 10,000 Nebula.]
âA mission, huh?â
Kang-Woo had no reason to refuse. However...
âMmm... the twenty-fifth might be a little difficult.â Kang-Woo shook his head as if troubled.
[The âGod of Victoryâ lowers the condition to the twenty-third floor.]
âHaaa. And I have to climb using only my left arm too...â
[The âGod of Victoryâ raises the Mission Clear Reward to 15,000 Nebula!]
The reward rose. Kang-Woo frowned in displeasure.
âGreat God of Victory, are you trying to bribe me with Nebula?â
He couldnât be more disgusted. He couldnât believe he was being bribed with mere Nebula to be a jester simply for the Constellationsâ enjoyment. Acting crazy to draw attention was different from acting crazy for someoneâs sake. He was the Demon King who formerly ruled the Nine Hells.
âYou expect me to play along with your stupid games?â
The Constellations were under a massive misunderstanding; they thought of Kang-Woo as a monkey in a zoo.
âI, Oh Kang-Woo, am not one to be swayed by mere Nebââ
[The âGod of Victoryâ raises the Mission Clear Reward to 30,000 Nebula!]
âI have only had one arm since the day I was born.â
Kang-Woo ate with only his left hand. He also beat his meat with his left.
âBecause you need your right hand on the mouse.â
âAlright, then! Here I go, climbing the tower with only my left arm!!â
Kang-Woo got into a handstand again but used only his left arm this time. He didnât find it to be an issue.
âOne arm is all I need.â
Hop! Hop!
He threw himself forward with one arm on the ground to head to the Gate.
[The âGod of Gamesâ offers you a mission!]
[The âGod of Shadowsâ offers you a mission!]
Kang-Woo continued to climb as he cleared various missions with ease.
[The âGod of Gamesâ bursts into laughter as he clenches his stomach!]
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ prepares more snacks!]
The Constellationsâ reactions grew more passionate as Kang-Woo kept clearing missions. Even the Constellations who had initially approached him to make him their apostle were now watching him purely for entertainment.
âWRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!â
It was only natural since it was their first time seeing a human clearing each floor so easily after they had gotten used to humans clearing a floor after years of effort. Kang-Woo had become an irreplaceable form of entertainment for the Constellations.
[The âGod of Heavenâ offers you a mission!]
Even the big shot, sponsoring Kang-Woo solely to have Kang-Woo be his apostle, was offering missions.
Kang-Woo reached the thirty-fifth floor after clearing various missions. Kang-Woo smiled and looked up after being summoned to the thirty-fifth floor.
âHehehe!! Right, then. Whatâs the next mission?!â
[The âGod of Gamesâ looks away awkwardly.]
[The âGod of Heavenâ checks his Nebula balance.]
[The âGod of Malevolenceâ checks on the other Constellations.]
The Constellations were beginning to act indecisively.
âLooks like theyâre getting reluctant to splurge.â
Naturally, no Constellation would invest all of their Nebula on someone purely to be entertained. However entertaining Kang-Woo was, Nebula was the most valuable currency for Constellations.
âIn that case.â
It was time for Plan B.
âOh... it looks like there arenât any missions this time.â Kang-Woo sighed in disappointment.
[The âGod of Gamesâ cheers you on!]
âHahaha,â Kang-Woo laughed dryly. He frowned and continued, âHow do you expect to cheer me up with just words?â
[The âGod of Gamesâ is flustered!]
âSeriously, do you Constellations have no shame? Huh? After all this shit Iâm doing to climb the Tower, all I get is a cheer?â
Kang-Woo couldnât be more offended.
âFive minutes,â he said as he extended five fingers. âIf I donât get a sponsor of at least three thousand Nebula or above in five minutes, I wonât be climbing the tower today.â
âIf youâve got a problem with that, shoot me some donos.â
