C-3
I take my Mathematics book from my locker and head to class. One more subject after this and I'm done for today! I really want to go home already because of some things from class.
I take my seat and put the book on my desk as quietly as possible. I look at the person who's sleeping on his desk beside me. My new seatmate.
"Settle down everyone, I have something to announce!" Mr. Gong, our class adviser says. "I know some of you have already heard about your new classmate. He's from class D and since class A lacks one student, he's being transferred here."
My classmates start whispering with each other.
"Let's get this over with. Hey kid, come in now!" Mr. Gong calls the new student.
Our new classmate walks in and just like that, the whole room goes silent.
"Lee Minho," he says with a poker face.
I can hear some gasps coming from my classmates and I can't blame them. I'm surprised too! After avoiding the rooftop for the past few days, he's going to appear here in our class?
"Okay, take your seat at the back," Mr. Gong says.
Wait a minute! I sit at the back that's next to the window with a vacant seat on my right. Does that mean...
I see him approaching the seat beside me and that's when it sinks in.
The school's resident bad boy is my seatmate?!
"So the no-show girl is my classmate," he says with a scoff.
"Just take a picture, it lasts longer." I'm startled when Minho suddenly talks and opens his eyes. "Staring is rude, you know."
I instantly divert my eyes in front. "Sorry..."
"Hm, sure."
He lazily fixes his sitting position just as our Maths teacher comes in.
"Good afternoon, class," Mr. Ho greets us. Everyone hates him because if you don't bring your book in his subject, you'll either get a punishment or go to detention.
"Good afternoon, Professor."
"Bring out your books, I'll be going to your desks to check it," he says.
I look around and see my classmate in front of me slightly sweating. It's the top student in our class, Seungmin. I peer at his desk and see why he's acting like that. He doesn't have a book.
"Hey, Seungmin," I whisper to him.
He turns around and smiles meekly. "Yes, Y/n?"
"Where's your book?"
"I..." He sighs. "I forgot it at home."
"Why?"
"I reviewed the last topic because it's confusing, but I forgot to bring the book earlier this morning." He looks down sadly, his glasses casting a gloomy shadow on his face.
Poor Seungmin, even I am nervous for him! He's always been a good student and he unintentionally helps me with Maths a lot of times because he lets the class copy his review notes. If not for that, I would have a failed grade on my report card now--not counting History.
I take a deep breath... and then I give him my book.
His eyes widen. "What about you?"
"It's okay." I smile and pat his shoulder.
"Thank you..." He accepts the book reluctantly.
"Why did you do that?" Minho asks. I forgot that he's my seatmate for a moment.
"Uh... He needs it more than me. It's not like I have a grade to maintain," I tell him. He frowns but doesn't respond.
Mr. Ho reaches our desks. "Moon, Lee. Where are your books?"
I gulp. "I... I d-don't have it, Professor."
"How about you?" He asks my seatmate.
Minho just shrugs.
Mr. Ho looks at us sternly. "Minho, detention. Y/n, you're cleaning my desk."
I dislike him very much!
