Zoey buried her face in Harriet's shoulder as Harriet's fingers traced along the fabric covering her sensitive skin. Her breath hitched, and she bit down softly on Harriet's shoulder, trying to stifle her moans. The last thing she wanted was to let out any sounds that might betray her feelings.
Harriet's touch was gentle yet teasing, and a soft gasp escaped Zoey as Harriet pressed her fingers lightly against her, drawing warmth to the surface. "Well, it seems you're already wet down there," Harriet whispered in her ear, her tone making Zoey blush. In response, Zoey pinched Harriet's back, making her chuckle softly.
"I'm going to slip them in, just let me know if anything feels uncomfortable," Harriet murmured, her free hand stroking Zoey's back. With care, she slipped her fingers under the fabric, easing them inside. Zoey gasped quietly, her face still buried in Harriet's shoulder, hands gripping the countertop for balance.
Harriet used her other hand to gently guide Zoey's legs apart, providing better access. "Just breathe, sweetheart," she encouraged softly, calming Zoey as she increased her pace.
Despite her efforts to stay silent, Zoey's control wavered, and a moan escaped her lips as the warmth of Harriet's touch consumed her. Harriet's fingers were slender and precise, each movement skillful, practiced, and deliberate, making Zoey tremble.
"Zoey, don't hold your breath," Harriet whispered, her free hand rubbing soothing circles on Zoey's back as her rhythm intensified. Zoey felt herself nearing the edge, her breathing erratic.
"Jeez, keep going," Zoey murmured breathlessly, biting down on Harriet's neck.
Harriet's soft laugh brushed against her. "Oh, I intend to," she said, quickening her pace, each movement sending Zoey further into ecstasy. Zoey threw her head back, gripping the countertop edge as Harriet took the opportunity to leave gentle marks along Zoey's neck, sealing the moment with her touch.
Zoey glanced down, her fingers tracing along the defined lines of Harriet's abdomen. "I thought this was off-limits, wasn't it?" she teased, letting her fingers wander as she watched Harriet's reaction.
"Mm, it is," Harriet groaned, closing her eyes briefly as she continued her rhythm, the same steady intensity in her touch. She buried her face in Zoey's shoulder, frustrated but amused, and started to tease Zoey, adjusting her movements between slow and fast, making Zoey shiver as she drew close to her edge.
A soft chuckle escaped Zoey before she bit down gently on Harriet's neck, trailing a light kiss afterward. With a deep sigh, she felt warmth spread within her, caught in the pleasure of the moment, her breath mingling with Harriet's in the quiet intensity between them.
Zoey flicked a bit of water onto Harriet's face as she washed Harriet's hands, sighing as she felt sticky again so soon after her bath. Harriet chuckled, watching her.
"Need me to help get you cleaned up again?" Harriet asked, her tone teasing. Zoey rolled her eyes, laughing as she tried to clasp her bra. "I doubt you'd manage to keep me cleaned up," she retorted, chuckling. Harriet reached over, clasping the bra for her.
"Well, we could always go for another roundâ Ow!" Harriet winced as Zoey flicked her forehead.
"Quit being so naughty, Doctor Harriet Pierce!" Zoey chided, heading toward the stairs. "Alright, I'll take another bath. Will you do me a favor and reheat the food and plate it? Thanks!" She threw Harriet a playful kiss over her shoulder.
Harriet laughed, pretending to catch it and press it to her lips. "Of course, sweetheart," she replied. Picking up her sweater from the counter, she slipped it back on before turning toward the stove to reheat the food, ready to plate it for their meal.
Zoey noticed Harriet grinning at her phone screen and raised an eyebrow, tilting her head. "What's got you smiling like that?" she asked, stepping off the last stair.
Harriet looked up at her, still smiling. "Your picture," she replied simply, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
Zoey's curiosity spiked, and she quickly walked over to Harriet. "What picture?" she demanded, but Harriet just shrugged, slipping her phone into her pocket before Zoey could snatch it.
Zoey narrowed her eyes at her. "Harriet," she said, a hint of warning in her tone.
Harriet chuckled. "What? I just wanted a new wallpaper," she admitted, a playful glint in her eyes.
"Let me see," Zoey insisted, extending her hand. Harriet laughed, gently steering her towards the dining table with a hand on her shoulder.
"We should eat first," Harriet said, pulling out a chair for Zoey before sitting beside her. After a moment, she handed her phone over. "Here, take a look."
Zoey raised an eyebrow, glancing from Harriet to the phone in her hand. Harriet realized and unlocked it, revealing the wallpaper.
Zoey chuckled, shaking her head. "Wow, showing off your loyalty a bit much, aren't you?" she teased, dishing out some pork chops and peppers onto Harriet's plate. "Now, eat up," she added, smiling warmly at her.
Harriet smiled warmly at Zoey, chuckling. "Thanks for the meal, sweetheart," she said before tasting the food Zoey had made.
Zoey watched her intently. "So? How is it?" she asked, curious if Harriet truly enjoyed it.
Harriet nodded, giving her a thumbs-up. "It's great," she replied.
Zoey narrowed her eyes slightly, teasing. "You're not just saying that to impress me, are you? Be honestâdo you actually like it?"
Harriet shrugged, slicing another piece of pork. "You know how I am. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't pretend otherwise."
Zoey smiled, nodding. "Fair enough." She stole a quick glance at Harriet, feeling a warmth she hadn't felt in years. Eating with someone beside her felt surprisingly comfortingânew and refreshing.
"Want to be my wife instead?" Harriet asked casually as she continued slicing her food.
Zoey choked on her drink, coughing in surprise. "W-What?"
Harriet's eyes twinkled. "I'm just askingâ"
"I heard you! It's just... aren't you rushing a bit?" Zoey replied, patting her chest as she recovered.
Harriet laughed softly. "I didn't mean for you to answer right away. It's just a thought." She grinned.       "They say a woman who cooks well makes a great wife, you know."
Zoey shook her head, smiling. "You're so suspicious," she teased.
Harriet laughed and shrugged. "Well, who knows, maybe someday..." she said, smiling as she sliced another piece of pork.
Zoey cleared her throat, her mind whirring. The thought of marrying Harriet felt so far offâdating a Pierce was never part of her plan, yet here they were. Harriet's words lingered, though. Who knows... maybe one day, she'd actually picture herself marrying Harriet. I wonder what that would even feel like, she mused quietly to herself.
