Zulaid sat down on the bench to catch his breath. He splashed some water on his head from the bottle and went back on the track.
Yesterday night he slept very late but woke up at the same time he used to wake up daily. After spending so many years in the medical field, he was used to getting less hours of sleep.
He pushed his sleeves to his elbow. His eyes found red marks on his arms. He smiled looking at them.
"Jungli bili" Her shy face appeared in his mind. How would she meet his eyes today. It's surely going to be a sight. He was looking forward to it.
When he entered their bedroom, she was soundly sleeping at her side of the bed, dressed in her nightgown. He went to take shower. After changing into his formals, he came back into the room and went straight to his sleeping wife.
"Hy Inara! Get up" He patted her cheeks lightly to not freak her out.
She slowly opened her eyes, found him sitting beside her.
"It's morning. Get up!" He made her sit. She pushed her hair back her ear, stared at the blanket lying on her lap. Her cheeks were tinted crimson.
"Itna bhi bura nahi dikhta main ke tum mujhy yoon nazar andaz karo" He played with her hair.

"Please" She pushed him away.
"Please what?" He wasn't going to leave her today.
"Na tang karain na" She hissed like a child.
(Don't tease me)
"Tang kahan kar rahoon hoon" He hid his smile.
(I ain't teasing you)
She covered her face with her hands now.
"Okay relax! I ain't saying anything. Tell me how are you feeling now?" He asked gently.
"I am tired"
"Just take rest. You will be fine. Sorry for waking you up. I just wanted to give you the pill" He took out a pill from the packet and handed it to her.
"What's this?" She questioned.
"Morning after pill" He told her.
"Why are you giving me this?" She looked at him dumbfounded.
"Why it's used for Inara? I know we didn't have that conversation yet but still I couldn't ignore the fact that we hadn't used protection last night" He explained.
She took it from and silently gulped it with the glass of water he handed to her.
"You don't want kids?" She asked uncomfortably. She never thought he didn't want one. She was praying to get a different answer.
"Of course I want kids. It's just that you are still studying. In a few months, you will be doing your house job which is a very hectic part of a doctor's life. I can't risk your health like that. Neither wants to burden you. We will plan the baby in the last months of your house job" He smiled at the end.
"I got scared for a second" She told him shyly.
"I know that because one needs to have a brain to think and you don't have one" He joked.
"If I don't have a brain then why are you wasting your time on me. Stay away from me" She clearly minded his words.
"Okay I am sorry. I was just kidding. Please lay down and sleep" He laid her down.
"I will be leaving now. Allah Hafiz!" He bent down to kiss her forehead before leaving the room.

"I always wanted you to be polite to me as you are now" She told him.
Zulaid looked at her face. Her voice had so much unknown pain in it. He once again felt a pang in his hurt for hurting her unknowingly. He couldn't imagine what she had tolerated on her own without opening up to anyone.
"I was a fool back then to ignore a sweetheart like you" He tried to enlighten her mood and as expected she burst into laughter.
"Who calls himself fool" She asked.
"The one who makes mistakes. By the way what else did you want from me?" He held her hand in his gently.
"Not much. I just wanted us to spend some time together. I wanted to discuss what's happening in my life with you. I wanted you to not ignore me" She said with longing.
"When did you start liking me?" He asked curiously.
"I always liked you a lot. I was always very impressed with you" She said truthfully.
"To be very honest Inara! I never thought that I would fall for someone but you made me prove so wrong. I am in love with you Inara!" He caressed her cheek and looked into her eyes that twinkled on his words.
"You do?"
"I do" He kissed her eyes one by one.
"You are the most important person in my life. You have changed me. You brought changes in me that I never even thought about. Always remember that it's only you who rules my heart!" He said intensely.
"I never thought you would be so loving. I used to think you would behave as a subordinate with your wife" She told him, playing with the button of his shirt. They were talking peacefully lying in each other's arms late at night.
"Fair enough. I used to pretend myself like that" He smiled.
"But you are different. Very loving and caring. I still don't believe you are mine" She said.
"Only yours" He kissed her hair and wrapped his arms around her tightly. He closed his eyes in peace that he never had in his life before. She brought a different kind of peace and comfort in his life.
Inara peeked at the salesman standing behind her. He was glued to her the moment she entered the shop. She was getting uncomfortable not because the salesman was doing something inappropriate but she wasn't actually comfortable with a stranger roaming around her even if he was there to help.

She looked for her husband. She couldn't find him anywhere.
"If you are looking for the man with you. He went to the male section" The salesman told her respectfully.
"Thank you" She said awkwardly.
"Hmm. Can you show me this one-in black color?" She pointed at a frock.
"It's not available in black ma'am!" He replied.
Inara nodded and started looking at other clothes but nothing got her attention. She never shopped alone. She would hardly come to the malls. Farida would buy everything for her and she had no problem with her mother's choice.
"You chose something!" Zulaid asked coming closer to her.
"Why you left me alone?" She snapped at him the moment he stood next to her. Zulaid's eyes fell at the salesman he had heard them. He awkwardly smiled at him. He didn't understand what put her off suddenly.
"I was just here finding something" He pointed at the male section.
"Still you should have told me" She wasn't happy.
"Okay I am sorry" He gladly accepted, "You haven't selected anything yet"
"I can't decide it on my own. Help me!" She asked.
"Sure. No problem" He helped her in finding clothes. He was shopping for a woman first time. His choice was great. Inara was at ease with him at her side.
Walking down the lane away from mall, there was a food street and a few shops. They were walking side by side on the lane, he was holding her hand. Their fingers enterwined.
"It's too crowded" She complained.
"It's supposed to be as it's a famous food street" He said to her.
"Can we just leave?" She muttered looking at the the people around her. She was getting anxious.
"Why? What happened" He looked at her distressed face.
"Nothing. I don't feel comfortable here" She told him.
"Why aren't you comfortable when I am right next to you" He increased his grip on her fingers.
"I don't know" She smiled awkwardly.
"Relax. I think we should just dine in here. It's not much crowded" He pointed at a rooftop which wasn't much crowded.
Inara was looking down at the crowd. Her heard was pounding inside her chest. She was at unease just by looking at the number of people walking here and there.
Zulaid was silently observing her. He smiled when she looked at him. She tried to smile back at him but she couldn't. Shr was feeling a familiar pain in her chest.
"Are you fine?" He asked worriedly.
"I am" She nodded. Rest of the night, Zulaid couldn't avert his mind from her. She had problems. Her every move was showing it to him. He couldn't ignore it anymore.
