Zulaid and Inara didn't have the conversation about her career again. They spent their next days of vacation in utter happiness.
Inara was enjoying everything. Once she used to dream she would tour around the world and now her dream was coming true. Zulaid was going to attend a medical conference in Baku and they had already decided that she would accompany him there.
Life was fun for her these days unlike the past few years she spent in the medical college and hospital.
"I can see the happiness on your face that means It was a good decision to take you here" Zulaid asked her softly.
They were sitting on the edge of the pool in their suite. It was night. The infinite stars were twinkling in the darkness.
"Yes, I am very happy to be here" She nodded with a smile on her face.
"I am glad it made you happy"
"The place doesn't matter I will be happy anywhere in the world with you by my side" She rested her on his shoulder.
"I am flattered" He pressed his lips on her head.
"Hmm you know what I was thinking" She said after a silence of a few seconds.
"What?" He encouraged her to speak.
"If you would have married another woman and taken her on trips like this one. How would I have felt about it?" She looked up into his eyes and asked him innocently.
Zulaid wanted to laugh loudly at her innocence if he had married another woman then Zoi and Nara were never meant to be together so that shouldn't have hurt her but he knew she always liked him and deep down in her heart it would have hurt her badly.
"Why would I have married someone else. Kiya sochti rehti ho pagal larki!" He patted her head.
(Why do you even think like that silly girl)
"Still" She mumbled.
"Okay. I wouldn't have shown her the same interest, love and care because it wouldn't have been you" He lied because he knew it would make her happy and what was even the point about talking about something that was never supposed to happen.
"You are so nice" She wrapped her arms around his and hid her face on his shoulder.
"By the way how do you think about such matters. You and me were supposed to be each other's. Then why do you think otherwise" He wanted to know because he himself couldn't imagine himself with anyone else.
"I don't know" She shrugged her shoulders.
"You are so silly" He shook his head.
"I just love you so much" She replied, looking up.
"Oh God! Why are you so cute!!" He kissed her cheeks.
"You were supposed to say 'I love you too" She told him.
"If I don't say in return that doesn't mean I don't love you anymore" He chuckled.
"That's rude to not reply when someone tells you they love you" She explained to him.
"I acknowledge that you love me and you know how much I love you" He replied.
"But you didn't say"
"Does that matter if I don't say it in return every time" He genuinely asked.
"Yes, it does to me" She told him.
"Okay. Okay. Darling! I love you so much. More than anything in the world!" He didn't take a few seconds to surrender. If that makes her happy then that's what he will say.
"Good boy!" She patted his arm.
"Oi! I am not a boy. I am a man" He didn't like the choice of her words.
"Stop disliking this word. Once you were a boy too" She chuckled.
"When you had a crush on me" He grinned.
"Ewww! I was only a child back then. You were so older than me. I didn't even know the meaning of crush at that time. I was that young. Astaghfirullah"
"Fair enough" He nodded.
She rolled her eyes at him annoyingly.
"Nara! When was the first time you had a crush on me?" He asked interestedly.
"Hm long ago" She muttered.
"When?"
"I was fourteen at that time" She was embarrassed to say it loudly.
"My goodness" He muttered.
Inara smiled remembering that day.
Inara shut down the TV. The show she used to watch was over now. She rose up from the carpet and grabbed her dupatta lying at the back of the sofa. She wrapped it around her shoulders and walked downstairs to see Hamad.
She entered the lounge only to see Zulaid sitting there. He was busy on his Mobile phone.
"Aslam o alaikum" It wasn't polite of her to leave without greeting him.
"Walekum salam" He looked up from the screen and saw her standing near the staircase.
"Wo Hamad hy?" She asked him.
(Is Hamad at home?)
"Hoga" He muttered, looking back at his phone.
(Maybe)
"Okay I will check in his room" She replied before taking steps to his room.
"Inara!" His voice stopped him.
"Jee Zoi bhai" She turned towards him but the frown on his forehead scared her.
"I mean Zulaid bhai" She rectified.
"Come here!" He pointed near himself.
In her mind she was thinking about the possible cause of his sudden interest. She certainly didn't do anything.
"Sit" He pointed next to him on the sofa.
Kahin marne warne ka irada to nahi inka. She thought dramatically.
(Is he planning to kill me)
"Where are you going?" He asked her seriously once she sat down next to him maintaining distance.
"To look for Hamad" She replied.
"And where are you exactly going to see him?" He asked again.
"In his room" She muttered not understanding his question.
"Why would you go to a boy's room Inara?" He asked monotonously. His face was expressionless.
He is a robot. She thought.
"Jee" She mumbled.
"Remember this Inara! Never go to a man's room. You shouldn't trust anyone with your safety..." Zulaid tried to make her understand in as simple words as he could use.
Inka bus chale to shadi ke bad shohar ke sath bhi na jane dain. She mentally laughed at his words.
(If he wants he wouldn't even let me go to my husband's room after my marriage)
"Inara! You aren't a kid anymore. It should be Chachi who should teach you but I know she doesn't have time for important things..."
Inara didn't hear his words properly because she was busy checking him out. She never actually saw him from this much closer ever before. Her gaze was fixed at his adam's apple which was moving up and down with every word. He was clean shaved in those days. She looked at his chiseled jaw. It was in perfect shape.
Her hands touched her own only to find a double chin. After having her periods she had gained weight in the last two years.
Ye qareeb se kitne handsome hain. Her eyes were now fixed at his hands. His nails were neatly cut. His fingers were long.
(He is too good looking from the closer look)
He was still saying something.
"Okay" She just nodded in response. Her heart was racing at the moment.
"Are you alright?" He asked her.
"I am fine" She mumbled.
"Your face is flushed" He commented.
"It's hot here" She uttered without thinking about the month of the year.
"It's November" He reminded her.
"Oh. Yeah, it's November" She looked away.
"Always remember my words. Hamad is in his room. Knock at his door and come back here. No need to go inside" He reminded her.
She nodded and rose up instantly. Without sparing a glance at anywhere else she rushed upstairs to her room.
She was always impressed by Zulaid and his achievements but after that day she started admiring his personality. She started to get closer to him but it didn't happen.
"What are you doing?" One day he asked her furiously when he served him coffee which he asked from his mother.
"Serving you coffee" She smiled at him softly.
"Take it and leave!" He frowned.
"What happened?" She muttered.
"You are invading my personal space constantly" He didn't need to use more words to warn her to not disturb him again.
"S-Sorry" She mumbled sadly before leaving.
Little did she know she started having a soft corner in her heart for him.
"You were so rude to me. You scolded me because you thought I was invading your personal space" She tried to make him remember which he clearly didn't remember.
"You must have done something to make me mad" He defended himself.
"Han. Janab ke paise chori kiye the jaise" She huffed.
(As if I stole your money)
"Abto chain wain sab chura liya hy tum ny" He smiled at her.
(Now you have stolen my peace completely)
"You are just so different now. Otherwise you always used to have scowl while talking to me. You were so mean at that time" She removed her hands from his.
"Why are you moving away from me?" He asked dumfounded when she moved away.
"Because you were a mean person to me" She gave the reason.
"I were once but I am not anymore" He didn't know how to defend himself now.
"But I am hurt" She looked away.
"Okay come here love!" He tried to hold her hand.
"First say sorry" She pushed his hand away.
"Why?"
"Because you have always scolded me" She reminded him.
"Mohtarma! Yeh nah cheeze ap ko dantne ke lie dil se sharminda hy" He patted at his heart.
(Madam I am truly sorry for scolding you)
"Ab bohat ashiqie nikal rahi hy apki tab to zuban se sirf shole nikalte thy" She shook her head.
(Now you are acting living at that time you used to utter fiery words only)
"Ufff Toba hy! Maaf kardo!" He joined his hands together.
(Forgive me)
"I will think about it" She acted.
"Come here sweetheart! Let me make up for you" He pulled her in his direction but before he could lean at her she pushed him into the pool.
She started laughing at him who was drenched. He was running his fingers through his wet hair, grinning at her.
"I am not sorry for this" He pulled her into the pool and burst into laughter, embracing her in his arms.
