Chapter 11: Chapter 9

In your dreams|James PotterWords: 6892

I read the ingredients in the right order for Lily to put in the caldron. We're in potions and finishing up our potion. If we get it right, it should turn green at the end.

"And now stir clockwise three and a half times." I read from the book.

Lily does as I say. She finishes stirring and both of us lean closer to see if it's changing color. It takes a second but the red liquid turns from red to green.

"We did it!" Lily cheers happily. "And we are the first ones to complete it!" I proudly state as I take a look around the room to see everyone else still working on their potion.

"Well done miss Evans and Y/L, 15 points to Gryffindor!" Slughorn announces when he sees our potion.

"Thank you, sir!" We say in unison.

I hear groaning from few tables back and look to see frustrated Remus and grinning James. Oh god somethings going to definitely explode.

"No James, you can't just put random ingredients in the potion. Don't you remember what happened last time?" Remus tries to argue with James.

"It will be fine, don't worry! And it will be funny." James brushes the brunettes concern away and continues whatever he is trying to do.

"Poor Remus has to be paired up with that douchebag." Lily observes the two.

"I would defend him, but right now, you're right." I watch as his face turns into a frown as nothing happens. Remus's face washes over with relief.

"Looks like Sirius and Peter aren't doing well either," Lily points to their table "but it's kind of expected."

Sirius and Peter both have a bored expression on their face as they lazily add ingredients to their potion. Well, it's more like Peter is adding the ingredients, because Sirius is on the edge of falling asleep.

Lily and I sit and talk as we wait for others to finish their work. Or we try to do that until something that we all expected happens.

There is a bang from the back of the class followed with a groan and a laughter. Everyone turns their heads towards the sounds source.

Remus is holding his face in his hands as James just grins next to him.

"Mr. Potter and Lupin, the potion isn't supposed to explode and from the looks of it, it wasn't an accident. 30 points from Gryffindor." Slughorn says with disappointment lacing his voice.

"Nice one James!" Sirius cheered from his table.

"No, it's not Mr. Black. You and Mr. Pettigrew better finish the potion without anything exploding or catching on fire." Slughorn warns the two boys while walking by their table.

"Can't make any promises Professor." Sirius taunts as he adds something to his potion.

I shake my head and turn back to Lily who has a look of annoyance and disappointment on her face.

The rest of the lesson goes by without any complications. I tell Lily to go find our other friends and have lunch with them while I will have it with the boys. I lean against the wall outside of the classroom, waiting for them. Finally, they exit the classroom whispering about something again. When they spot me they stop the whispering and head towards me.

"Y/N, already missed us?" James wraps his arm around my shoulders as we start walking towards the great Hall.

"She definitely did." Sirius adds.

I snort "You wish."

"Potions went well, I assume?" Remus spoke from the other side of me. "It did. Can't say the same about you though." I recall the memory from earlier.

"Don't remind me," Remus mumbles running his hand through his hair.

"C'mon Remus it wasn't that bad, you got to have some fun in life!" James beams as he lets go of my shoulder and messes up his hair.

We reach the great hall and search for a sitting place.

"So, quidditch is this weekend." Peter began in between bites.

"Gryffindor against Ravenclaw, with me and James on the team, we're winning for sure." Sirius states.

"Which reminds me,  we have practice today, at six." James reminded Sirius "You're going to come and watch the match on Saturday, Y/N?"

I take a sip from my drink before answering. "Sure, I'll be sitting with Remus and Peter."

"Better keep your eyes on the game then, Jamie!" Sirius teases James while ruffling his hair.

James swats his hand away with an annoyed glare. "First, we have talked about you not calling me that and second, I don't have a problem with focusing on the game."

I raise my eyebrow looking at Remus with a questioning face. He just shrugs. I look at Peter and he just smiles.

I sit in front of the fire in the common room while reading a book. A blanket is wrapped around my shoulders to keep me warm. The common room is practically empty, with two other students doing their homework. Two fifth years studying for their O.W.L's probably.

Everything is quiet and peaceful, the fire is crackling slightly. I turn the next page when the painting flies open. In runs a giggling Sirius.

"Wow, you look awful." I comment as I take a look at his appearance. His black hair is tangled and messy, which is rare, because it's always neat. His clothes are muddy and dirty. Then again, the weather is pretty bad outside.

"Thank you, you look dashing as well," He bows down slightly. He reaches for his pocket and frowns when he seemingly finds it empty.

I give him a confused look.

"I may or may have not stolen James's glasses. I thought I put them in my pocket while I was running away from him." He explains still patting down his pockets.

The portrait opens again and in walks the rest of the Gryffindor quidditch team including James. Everyone heads to their dormitories, expect James.

I take a good look at him. He looks just like Sirius - muddy and dirty clothing, plus his black messy hair.  Can't even say that his hair is messier than usual, because we all know that it's never neat. But he does have his glasses.

"Very funny, Sirius." He smiles sarcastically at Sirius who innocently smiles back.

"What? Is something wrong? Y/N, do you know what's funny?" Sirius looks at me with a fake confused look on his face.

"No, I don't Sirius. I think James is just, you know, James." I shrug.

"Ha-ha, you two are incredibly funny. Sirius, you dumbarse dropped them while trying to put them into your pocket. How can you fail this bad?" James asks while sitting down on one of the couches.

"I was running, and it's hard to pocket something while you're running from someone, okay? Next time, run slower, and I will pocket them and my plan will succeed." Sirius sat next to him on the couch.

"Both of you are dumbarses." I mumble to myself, continuing to read my book.

"You know, I should get a girlfriend and let her wear my quidditch jumper to our game," Sirius began "I could even kiss her at the end of our games."

I roll my eyes at his idea. Of course.

"Good idea," James agrees "Hey Y/N!" He calls.

"No." I close my book and stand up from where I was sitting.

"You didn't even hear what I was-" He began again.

"I'm going to bed, goodnight!" I yawn.

I quickly walk up the stairs as I hear some laughter from the common room.
