Chapter 13: Chapter 11

In your dreams|James PotterWords: 6010

I look outside the train window. There is a snow storm outside, it makes it hard to see in the distance.

"I wish that I could stay at Hogwarts for Christmas." Sirius sighs from across me.

"You could stay at my house for the holidays. I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind, they love people like you. Everything magical is fascinating to them." I suggest.

That is true. Ever since I got my letter and a wizard came by my house to explain all of this to us, they've been really excited. They always come with me to Diagon Ally to get my school supplies, they always send me off at the train station.

Well except this year, but they couldn't make it, I'm not mad at the for that but they sent my tons of letters apologizing.

They especially love my friends. I always send them pictures of us and they hang them around the house. Marauders are like a part of our family, even though my parents have met them only a few times at the train station.

They make sure to send muggle snacks and sweets to us at Hogwarts. They know how much Sirius and James love muggle food and stuff. I send them sweets and stuff back when we visit Hogsmeade.

Sirius smiles at me. "Thank you and I would love that, but you know my parents. They would never let me stay at someone else's house. I would get in more trouble for that." His smile disappears at the end of his sentence.

We all know about Sirius's life at home. I didn't know how bad it really was until third year. Sirius came back from the Christmas break with all sort of bruises and cuts. His parents had used the cruciatus curse on him. It was horrible.

I get snapped out of my thoughts by James.

"We're here for you mate, we always will be." James places his hand on Sirius's shoulder "And you know that you are always welcome in my house as well."

Sirius gives us all a tight-lipped smile.

I look at Remus who gives me a reassuring smile but you can clearly see through him. He is as worried as the rest of us.

The rest of the ride goes by fast. We all just talk and joke about stuff. The storm outside has finally calmed down and now there are soft snowflakes falling from the sky.

I quickly get of the train and step on the platform. My eyes search through the crowd of people, trying to find my mother and father. It takes a moment but I spot them standing by a wall. I start running towards them.

I crash into my mother's arms and hug her tightly. "Hello, sweetie." She laughs as she hugs me back. I let go of her and pull my father into a hug "We missed you so much." He chuckles as he ruffles my hair.

"I missed both of you as well, so much has happened! We won the quidditch match!" I exclaim excitedly.

"That's wonderful!" My dad smiles.

I hear my name being called and turn around to see the boys heading towards us.

"I'll talk with the boys for a second, be right back!" I inform my parents and head towards the group.

"We just wanted to say goodbye, we all know how much you will miss me." James smirks and messes up his hair with his hand.

I roll my eyes "Yeah, sure."

"I would love to agree with you James, but you're probably the one who will miss us all the most and send letters of how you miss us, especially Y/N." Sirius winks at me and loops an arm around James's shoulders.

I look at Remus who tries to hide his laugh with a cough.

"Shut up Sirius, you're no better with your letters about Re-" Sirius quickly covers James's mouth with his hand.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He gives James a pointed look.

"They're both idiots, but you already know that." Remus chuckles and pulls me into a hug. "Yeah, I do." I laugh.

"But we still love them." Peter points out as I hug him.

"I'm still deciding on that." I smile at both Remus and Peter.

"Oi! That hurt, why would you say that?" Sirius pouts .

I grin at him and pull him into a hug "You know that I love you Sirius."

"Are you being sirius right now?" He asks and I can tell by his voice that he was smirking.

"Why do you always have to ruin the moment." I hit his shoulder.

"Sorry, my bad." He raises his hands in defense.

Lastly, I turn to James and pull him into a hug.

"I know that I'm your favorite and you love me the most." He states.

"You can only dream about it." I snort.

"Oh, I do." He reassures.

"Remus is my favorite." I whisper into his ear and pull back from the hug with a smirk.

"I have to go now, but I hope that you all have wonderful holidays, bye!" I wave at them and hurry back to my parents who have already got all of my stuff. We start walking off the platform to our car.

"What did you say to poor James over there." My mum raises an eyebrow.

"I told him that Remus is my favorite marauder." I giggle.

"If you say so." My dad smirks.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"Oh, nothing, just that you say Remus is your favorite whilst you constantly ramble about James in your letters. 'James this' and 'James that', I think you're lying to both yourself and him." He shrugs innocently.

"Oh leave your daughter alone. She's young and in love, let her be!" Mum scolds with a knowing smile.

"Mum, dad stop! It's not like that he's just a friend and a really good one." I look down embarrassed.

"I used to say the same thing about your mother and look at us now!" Dad exclaims pulling my mum closer to him by the waist with his free hand.

"Okay, we can drop the subject now. Any plans for Christmas?" I change the subject quickly.

We reach our car and my dad loads up the trunk while I hop into the backseat. "We thought that maybe we could spend it with the Evans family this year." Mum announces as she sits into the car and closes the door.

Mum and dad had met Lily's parents while grocery shopping in my second year and after that they started talking. Luckily, they don't live far from us, it's a 15-minute drive.

"That's a great plan!" I say while smiling.

The entire ride home I talk about everything that has happened and regular school stuff. Of course, I leave out the parts where I serve detention with the other four boys.
