Siennaâs POV.
The man who approaches us is over 6 ft, heâs huge. He has ridiculously wide shoulders and a broad chest.
His face, oh sweet Moon Goddess, his face.
He has black unruly hair that is long on top and cropped short at the sides, piercing green eyes, an impressive jawline, and beautiful lips.
Before I can stare and embarrass myself further, I quickly lower my head to look down at my feet. The last thing I need is to disrespect a high-ranking member of the Black Mountain pack.
âBeta, this is the female we found on our territory,â the bitch announces, and I bite my lip to keep my mouth shut.
I will wait until the Beta addresses me to let him know this is a simple misunderstanding, it would be rude to just talk without being addressed first.
My heart begins beating wildly as he comes over and stands in front of me, my eyes widen as I take in his thick muscular thighs, stretching the faded jeans he wears. Itâs almost comical, his large combat boots in line with my small ones.
I resist the urge to raise my head, even when his mouth-watering, masculine scent washes over me. My head spins with the tantalising aroma.
Wow, he smells good.
I jump as he raises a big hand and holds my chin, lifting my face up so that my eyes meet his.
The moment is truly surreal. His delicious scent overwhelms my senses, his rough hand sends wave after wave of tingles across my skin, and his green eyes bore deep into mine, full of shock and excitement.
Holy mother of Moon Goddess, Iâve found him.
My mouth falls open in surprise of finding my mate, and his penetrating eyes drop down to my lips. I swear I nearly faint at the sudden flash of need in his eyes.
Neither of us say anything, and I shift uncomfortably, causing the handcuffs around my wrists to chink together. The noise seems to snap him out of a daze, he drops his hand and takes a small step back, I miss the contact immediately.
âBrianna, hand me the key to those cuffs,â he speaks for the first time, and shiver of pleasure runs down my spine at the sound of his unbelievably deep and husky voice.
Brianna looks startled for a moment, and then hurries to get the key out of her pocket.
âBeta,â she mumbles, placing the key in his upturned hand.
His eyes donât leave me until he moves behind me to unlock the cuffs, he gently holds my wrists as he does so, sending tingles up my arms. He hands the cuffs to Brianna and comes round to face me again.
âWhat is your name?â He asks, his eyes never leaving mine.
I open my mouth to reply, but someone beats me to it.
âSienna!â Cadeâs voice calls out and everyone turns to face him as he runs over to us.
Relief washes over me at the sight of him, he can get me out of this situation. He runs over to me, and I throw my arms around him.
âCade, thank god youâre here!â I tell him, relaxing as he puts his arms around to hug me.
âItâs okay, Iâm so sorry I was late I-â A growl cuts Cade off, and out of nowhere Iâm grabbed and pulled away from Cade.
The Beta, or rather my mate, shoves me behind him and holds me there with both of his hands. I look over his shoulder at a very confused Cade.
âDonât touch her,â my mate hisses, and Cade looks even more confused.
I cautiously slide my hands down my mateâs back, down to his waist and gently squeeze him. I canât resist smiling as the growls emanating from his chest abruptly stop.
âSi? What is going on?â Cade asks curiously and I step out from behind my mate.
He quickly puts an arm around my waist.
âUm, heâs my mate,â I reply, looking at him sheepishly.
I feel awful as a look of horror comes over Cadeâs face and he turns to glare at my mate.
âNo way,â he says angrily, which, in turn, pisses off my mate who growls and tightens his grip on me.
âSheâs mine,â he seethes, and I am reluctant to try and disagree with him whilst he is in this mood.
Cade seems to have brought some sense back into my head and I realise we are still in the forest surrounded by guards; this is probably not the best place to chat.
âUm, I think we should do this somewhere else, as Cade can explain, this was all a big misunderstanding,â I say, looking over to where the bitch Brianna glares at me.
âYouâre right. Come on, Si, come back to the house,â Cade replies glumly and turns around, walking away from us.
I hesitate for a moment, risking a glance at my mate, I roll my eyes as I see him glaring at Cadeâs back. I thank the guard who hands me back my handbag and go to follow Cade. My mate grabs my hand and spins me back around to face him.
âYouâre mine,â he reiterates, and I only nod silently, unsure of what to say right now.
We all make our way through the forest, towards Cadeâs house, an awkward silence surrounding us.
What a weird day this is.
