Ye Shenggeâs culinary skills were average, but she could still cook noodles. Before the hot water boiled, she grabbed a bunch of vegetables and started to wash them. After the water boiled, she threw the noodles and vegetables in, and finally, eggs.
Ji Shiting gazed at her, and his eyes softened.
It looked familiar, and in less than ten minutes, Ye Shengge walked to the manâs side. She was satisfied to see that the water in the cup was empty.
âAre you better now?â She asked and took the empty glass from him.
Ji Shiting looked at her and nodded.
âThe noodles are done. Come and eat.â She seemed to treat him as a patient and reached out to help him.
Ji Shiting put most of his weight on her, and he curled his lips when he heard the woman moan.
Ji Shiting picked up his chopsticks and looked at the bowl of noodles.
âEat it all!â Ye Shengge sat across from him and ordered. âDonât worry, I didnât forget to add salt.â
The man paused for a bit, then he picked up a piece of noodles and put it into his mouth. He was still frowning, and he looked like he was struggling to eat.
Ye Shengge bit her lips and couldnât help wondering if her noodles were that bad.
Fortunately, the man finished the bowl of noodles despite the pain.
Ye Shengge couldnât help asking, âIs it good?â
Ji Shiting looked at her and raised an eyebrow. âDo you want to hear the truth or lies?â
Ye Shengge lowered her head and said, âForget it.â
The man smiled and wiped his lips with a tissue. The woman looked up and said, âAre youââ¬Â¦ feeling better? Why donât you go back and rest early?â
Ji Shiting paused, crumpled the tissue and threw it on the desk. He still pressed his left hand against his stomach and frowned, âNot good.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âHow could that be?â Ye Shengge looked worried. âIs the medicine ineffective?â
âI feel much better after taking the medicine,â said the man as he looked at the empty bowl. âBut Iâm starting to feel uncomfortable again after eating the noodles.â
Ye Shengge raised her voice and said, âWhy didnât you say so just now? Donât eat it if you donât feel well!â
Besides, there was no poison in her noodles, so why did she feel uncomfortable after eating it?
âYouâre so fierce.â He clicked his tongue. âIâm afraid youâll hit me if I donât finish it.â
Ye Shengge blushed.
However, Ye Shengge couldnât help feeling sorry seeing him frown.
âDo you want to lie on the bed for a bit?â
Ji Shiting looked at her and said, âCome here and help me.â
Ye Shengge immediately stood up and walked over. The man reached out his arm to her, but before she could touch him, his arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her into his embrace.
Ye Shengge struggled subconsciously, and she heard the man groan, looking more pained.
She didnât dare move at all and could only maintain her posture. âDidnâtââ¬Â¦ Didnât you say you wanted to lie on the bed?â
âIt should be useful if you let me hug you for a bit.â The manâs deep and hoarse voice rang in her ears.
