Amelia's POV

I arrive at the party a little after 7 p.m. The grand house is alive with music, laughter, and the soft glow of lights spilling out from the open windows. As I step out of the car, I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. This is it. Time to face whatever Aiden has planned.

Inside, the place is buzzing with energy. People are laughing, dancing, and chatting in clusters. I scan the room for familiar faces and spot Maya and Fran near the bar. They wave me over, and I weave through the crowd to join them.

"Hey, you look amazing!" Maya says, giving me a quick hug. Fran nods in agreement, her eyes twinkling. "Ready for tonight?"

"Thanks, you guys look great too," I reply, trying to muster enthusiasm. "Yeah, I'm ready. As ready as I'll ever be."

We chat for a bit, catching up on the latest gossip and plans for the summer. But my mind keeps drifting, half-expecting Aiden to appear any moment. When he doesn't, I excuse myself to get a drink, needing something to steady my nerves.

As I head to the bar, I spot Madison in a corner, surrounded by a group of admirers. She catches my eye and smirks, her expression dripping with disdain. I ignore her, focusing on the task at hand-finding Aiden and figuring out what he's up to.

With a drink in hand, I move through the house, scanning the crowd for any sign of him. After what feels like forever, I finally spot him near the back patio, talking to a group of guys. He looks up as I approach, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

"Amelia," he says smoothly, stepping away from his friends. "Glad you could make it."

"Of course," I reply, trying to keep my tone neutral. "You said you had something to tell me."

He nods, leading me out to the patio where it's quieter. The cool evening air is a welcome relief from the heat and noise inside. We find a spot near the edge of the patio, away from prying eyes and ears.

"Okay, so what is it?" I ask, crossing my arms and looking at him expectantly.

Aiden leans against the railing, his gaze steady. "I meant what I said earlier. I want to clear things up between us. No more grudges, no more games."

I raise an eyebrow, skepticism clear on my face. "And I think a public apology is going to do that!"

He shrugs. "Whatever! I'll do."

I scoff. "You really expect me to believe that? After everything?"

"Yes," he replies simply. "Because it's the truth."

I shake my head, feeling a mix of frustration and confusion. "Why? Why do you care so much about clearing things up?"

Aiden steps closer, his expression serious. "Because I've realized something. You and I, we make a great team when we're not at each other's throats. And I don't want to waste that potential."

I search his eyes for any hint of duplicity, but all I see is sincerity. It's unsettling, to say the least. "Fine," I say finally. "I'll give you a chance. But don't think for a second that I trust you completely."

"Fair enough," he replies, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Now, let's go inside. It's almost time for the announcement."

We head back into the hall, the noise and energy of the party washing over us. As we make our way to the main room, I can't help but feel a sense of anticipation. Whatever happens next, I know it's going to be interesting.

The room quiets down as the organizers step up to announce the winners. My heart pounds in my chest. Aiden stands beside me, his presence a steadying force despite everything.

"And the winners of this year's competition are..." The speaker pauses for dramatic effect, the silence stretching out painfully and then recall the names of all the winners including us.

The room erupts in applause, and I feel a mix of relief. We did it. Despite everything, we actually won. Aiden turns to me, a genuine smile on his face. "Congratulations, partner."

"Yeah," I reply, my own smile breaking through. "Congratulations."

As we step forward to accept our prize, I can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning. Working with Aiden is never going to be easy, but maybe, just maybe, it might be worth it.

............................

The celebration was alive with energy, the hall ablaze with twinkling lights and fragrant blooms. Laughter mingled with the soft strains of music, echoing the joy of our recent triumph.Me,Rose, France, and Maya were having a good time.

Rose, exuding her usual charisma, dazzled in a flowing emerald long dress that complemented her radiant complexion. The room buzzed with a medley of styles-bold, classic, and everything in between-a testament to the night's festivities.

Amonh the lively chatter, a sudden silence fell. I turned to see Madison glide in, a champagne flute in hand. Known for her cutting remarks and calculated demeanor, she approached us with a glint in her eye that spelled trouble.

"Well, well, look who's here," Madison drawled, her tone laced with a hint of mockery as she raised her glass in a mock toast. I tightened my grip on my own glass, sensing trouble brewing.

"Madison," I replied evenly, bracing myself for what was to come.

Disregarding the tension she'd stirred, Madison glanced over my dress with a cunning smirk. "Such effort, Amelia," she remarked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. With deliberate carelessness, she tilted her glass, spilling soda onto my dress.

Gasps rippled through the crowd as I felt the cold dampness spread. Anger rose within, but I maintained my composure, mindful of Madison's games. Rose stepped forward, her expression a mix of concern and anger

"Madison, that was uncalled for," Rose chided sharply. "Apologize to Amelia."

Madison's smirk widened, seemingly unaffected by the tension she'd created. "Oh, relax, Rose. It's just a dress," she said carelessly.

Taking a deep breath, I met Madison's gaze, wiping away the drink with a I'm so glad for wearing a dark colored dress as it's going to hide the stain for tonight. In a split second, an idea struck. Without second-guessing, I grabbed a glass of water from a passing server and pretended as if to throw it towards Madison.

Madison's eyes widened in panic, instinctively stepping back and flinching, momentarily thrown off her usual composed facade. As the realization dawned that I hadn't actually thrown the water, a small smile played on my lips.

"It seems like it's not just a dress for you, Madison," I remarked pointedly, emphasizing the word 'just'.

With that, I turned away, leading my friends from Madison's stunned silence. We moved through the hall, leaving the disruption behind. Though frustration lingered, I refused to let it overshadow the night.

The music swelled once more, reclaiming the party's vivacity. Glancing back, I caught Aiden's gaze across the room. There was understanding in his eyes-a silent solidarity in the glamour and discord.

In that moment, I realized that dignity and grace were my armor against those who wanted to disrupt. Straightening my shoulders, I focused on the joy of the evening, surrounded by true friends who stood by me through it all.

............................

The celebration was in full swing, the energy in the room electric. Music pulsed from the speakers, and laughter filled the air. As I navigated through the crowd, my eyes searched for Aiden. Despite our earlier conversation, I couldn't shake the feeling that he was up to something.

Finally, I spotted him near the center of the room, surrounded by a group of students. As usual, he commanded attention effortlessly, but tonight there was a tension around him, an anticipation that seemed to hum in the air.

I pushed my way through the throng of people, my heart pounding. As I approached, the crowd parted slightly, and Aiden's eyes met mine. He stepped forward, and suddenly, the room fell silent, the abrupt quiet almost deafening.

"Everyone," Aiden's voice rang out, commanding immediate attention. "I have something important to say."

A murmur ran through the crowd, faces turning toward us with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. Aiden, the king of the university, rarely addressed everyone unless it was something significant. I felt the weight of their stares, the anticipation hanging heavy.

He took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving mine. "A few days ago, I made a mistake," he began, his voice steady but intense. "I let my pride and arrogance get in the way, and I hurt someone who didn't deserve it."

A ripple of shock went through the crowd, and I saw Madison's eyes widen in disbelief. This wasn't the Aiden everyone knew. The Aiden who never admitted fault, never showed vulnerability.

"I want to apologize," he continued, his gaze unwavering. "Amelia, I treated you unfairly, and for that, I'm truly sorry."

Gasps and whispers broke out around us, the crowd struggling to process what they were hearing. Aiden's eyes were intense, filled with a sincerity that took me by surprise. Despite everything, I couldn't deny the impact of his words.

"But actions speak louder than words," he said, taking a step closer to me. "So, I'm going to prove it."

Before I could react, Aiden sank to one knee, his eyes still locked on mine. The room fell into a stunned silence, every eye fixed on us. This was the last thing anyone, including me, expected to see.

My mind went blank, and I froze in place, unable to process what I was seeing. Aiden, the dominant, unyielding figure who never bent, never broke, was on his knees in front of me. The shock held me in place, my breath caught in my throat.

"Amelia," he said, his voice steady but low, "I ask for your forgiveness. In front of everyone here, I admit my mistakes and ask for a chance to make things right."

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I felt the weight of everyone's stares, the disbelief and curiosity palpable in the air. My mind raced, struggling to process what was happening. This was Aiden, the dominant, unyielding figure who never bent, never broke. And here he was, on his knees, asking for forgiveness.

I finally snapped out of my shock, my heart pounding. "Aiden," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "Get up."

He stood, his eyes never leaving mine. The room was still, the tension thick. I could see the shock in everyone's faces, the disbelief at what they had just witnessed.

"What just happened was....... unbelievable ," I said, my voice steadying. I'm still in shock.

"Tonight changed everything"
