Bears pitifully squealed with fright. Rather!
Patricia put on her best scared face, and like a bat out of hell, she ran into the terrace. "This is a disaster, Puma, Varta, Veronica! Get out here, Elinorâs been hit by a car!"
She saw a picture of stock panic and what it must say.
"Elinor saw the car coming, but she didnât have time to move. But she insisted she wouldnât let me go without walking me home. Then a car came darting out of an alley and hit her before speeding off!"
At the sound of the commotion, Marissa turned as white as a ghost, nearly passing out. She tried to catch herself before she fell.
"Whereâs the pit now? How is she?"
Staring down at the sweet Elinorâs side, there was so much blood.
Patriciaâs voice cracked, âI tried, but there was no responseâ¦â
Fear was imminent.
Stock took her hand and said, âNow is not the time to panic. We need immediate action. Bring her to the emergency room and get our family doctor to assess the situation.â
The room was filled with concerned murmurs.
âPatricia, call them immediately.â
They moved quickly to the car and drove towards the hospital in a rush.
Upon arriving, the family doctor was waiting.
Marissa, clutching her chest and weeping, said, âElinor mustnât have anything serious happen to her.â
The doctor hurried over to examine Elinor.
Vernon, standing to the side, was pale and tense, his face showing signs of distress.
The waiting room entrance could be read as a text. The air was filled with the scent of antiseptics.
The hospital smelled of death and damage. The anxiety was evident on everyoneâs faces.
People who tended to injuries moved in a frantic state, reading the roomâs tension.
Tom Collins, baffled by what had been brought to his attention, named the situation an emergency.
Seeing Theo standing outside, he demanded answers and questioned him sternly, âIs this how you take care of my daughter?â
