Chase rubbed his forehead, sighing with resignation, âThis ainât easy, you know! You know how irresistible I am. How could she give up if sheâs not hurt a bit?â
Ellinor rolled her eyes at him, âDidnât I warn you from the start not to mess with those loveâstruck girls?
Theyâre too fragile and prone to overthinking things. Youâre just asking for trouble!â
Chase made a face. âAlright, I get it! Wonât happen again.â
Ellinor hummed with exasperation and ignored him.
Chase looked around the hospital room curiously and asked, âWhereâs Mr. Blanchet? Why isnât he here with you?â
Ellinor glanced out at the clear blue sky. âHe had some business, so he left early in the morning.â
Chase complained discontentedly, âYouâre in the hospital, and he can still go on a business trip as your husband? Does he even care about you?â
Ellinor frowned slightly, not responding to Chase.
www Belinda splashed her face with cold water in the restroom. She had a gloomy expression as she looked at her damp reflection.
She had been through a failed relationship before and almost married a bad guy. Now, she found herself attracted to another notâsoâreliable man.
Could it be that she was a magnet for bad guys?
She felt useless, unable to continue or give up on her feelings.
âI thought you had high standards! Turns out you like bad boys, huh?â Veronica appeared in the mirror with her arms folded, looking arrogant. Belinda snapped back to reality and glanced at Veronica, âAnd you have good taste? I havenât seen you with a highâclass boyfriend!â
Veronica huffed unhappily, âThe guy I like is highâclass. I havenât won him over yet; Iâll tell you when I do!â
Belinda sneered disinterestedly, âA truly highâclass guy wouldnât go for a shallow girl like you.â
âYouâ¦â Veronica put her hands on her hips angrily. She hadnât won over her crush, Moran, and felt she wasnât good enough for him. But hearing Belindaâs sarcastic remarks made her furious, âHey! Belinda, youâre really ungrateful! I wanted to warn you that guy doesnât seem trustworthy, but now youâre attacking me?â
Belinda dried her face with a paper towel, âI might not be a love guru, but I donât need advice from a love newbie like you.â
With that, she tossed the paper towel into the trash and walked past Veronica.
Veronica wasnât one to back down easily. She quickly turned around and chased after her, âWho are you calling a newbie? You should be calling me auntie; you have no manners!â
Belinda ignored her and quickened her pace.
Veronica caught up to her, asking cautiously, âBy the way, whoâs that guy? Why does he call Ellinor boss?â
