Sophia noticed Theoâs mood swing, and her curiosity for this designer named Moon intensified.
âMoon, what are you still hesitating about?â
Ellinor clenched her teeth, pulling off her black mask and revealing her real face.
Her face was heavily wrinkled, and apart from her sparkling eyes, her nose was flat, her lips were thick, and her face was unusually big, making her unattractive.
Sophia was startled by the wrinkles and scars on her face, suddenly understanding why she chose to cover up so much.
She was really unattractive!
The light in Theoâs eyes was instantly extinguished, and they fell just like ashes from a slowing fire.
Ellinorâs eyes were cold. âSeen enough now? Satisfied?â
Sophia asked sympathetically. âMoon, what happened to your face?â
Her skin looked like it had suffered some injury, with wrinkles reminiscent of burn scars.
Ellinor put her hat and mask back on and said, âA fire. I survived but ended up like this. Thatâs why I initially didnât want to attend the Blanchet Corporationâs ribbon-cutting ceremony. I didnât want to scare people with my appearance.â
This ugly mask was deliberately chosen by Bartlett, and it worked fantastically, scaring them all.
Sophia felt sorry. âUh⦠Iâm sorry. I didnât know; I was a bit harsh on you just now.â
Ellinor didnât want to dwell on it, nor did she have the time to. She just wanted to leave.
âNo worries, can I go now?â
Sophia nodded. âDo you need us to arrange transportation for you?â
ã¾ Ellinor waved her off. âNo need; a friend is picking me up.â
With that, she felt she could make her exit, turning to leave.
ã ã âHold on.â Theoâs cold voice rang out again.
Ellinor stiffened and was forced to halt her steps. âMr. Blanchet, is there anything else?â
With his indifferent tone and expressionless face, Theo said, âSince youâre here, letâs have a meal together. I have some questions regarding this building. Our previous correspondences via email left some things unclear.â
The reason Theo gave made it hard for Ellinor, in the role of the designer, to refuse. He was raising some after-sales issues, and it was her responsibility to answer.
Reluctantly, she agreed to the meal.
To her relief, Theo didnât notice anything off about the mask on her face.
Sophia felt guilty about her initial attitude towards Moon and decided to join them for the meal to make up for hurting Moonâs self-esteem.
As a woman, she understood the importance of appearance to a girl and the depth of the hurt of being disfigured.
They went to a restaurant near the new Blanchet Corporation building.
Theo and Sophia sat together, with Ellinor sitting alone opposite them.
When ordering, Theo politely passed the menu to Ellinor as well.
Ellinor didnât hold back and purposely ordered some food she didnât like before to avoid giving herself away.
After ordering, she handed the menu back to Theo, who ordered his own food before passing the menu to Sophia.
