Ellinor wasnât sure if she was overthinking, but she always had this hunch that Theo was watching to see what dish sheâd pick.
Sophia enthusiastically offered Ellinor some fried chicken wings. âMoon, try these wings; theyâre my absolute favorite! They taste fantastic!â
Ellinor happened to love wings too, but she didnât feel like having any today because she felt nauseous.
She thanked her with a smile and continued eating food she normally didnât like, just wanting to finish this meal that shouldnât have happened in the first place.
However, because she was eating food that she didnât like and because her pregnancy had made her lose her appetite, Ellinor started feeling uncomfortable and was on the verge of throwing up.
She stood up calmly and said, âExcuse me, I need to go to the restroom.â
She left in a hurry, forgetting to take her phone with her.
Not long after she left, Ellinorâs phone on the table buzzed twice.
Sophia reached for it, but Theo stopped her in a low voice. âDonât touch other peopleâs stuff!â
Sophia shrugged. âI wasnât going to. I just thought Iâd take her phone to the restroom. What if thereâs an emergency and someone needs to reach Moon?â
Having said that, Sophia picked up Ellinorâs phone and stood up to take it to the restroom, but she accidentally glanced at the phone screen, and her eyes froze.
Then she handed the phone to Theo. âTheo, look at this!â
Theo took a sip of water. He wasnât interested in checking someone elseâs phone, but since Sophia had pushed Moonâs phone in front of him, even if he didnât want to, he ended up seeing it.
Theoâs pupils suddenly contracted.
Ellinor threw up in the restroom. After cleaning herself up and coming back, she didnât notice anything unusual on the dining table.
Sophia reminded her. âMoon, your phone was buzzing while you were away. Seems like someone was trying to reach you.â
Only then did Ellinor realize that she had forgotten her phone. She tensed up, but after noticing that the phone was still in its place and untouched, she let out a sigh of relief. After thanking Sophia for the reminder, she picked up her phone to check and saw a message from Bartlett.
âBaby, where are you? The driver said he didnât pick you up.â
Ellinor didnât scold him for casually calling her baby and replied. âIâm having dinner with Mr. Blanchet;
have the driver pick me up here!â
Then she sent him the address of the restaurant.
Upon seeing that Ellinor was having dinner with Mr. Blanchet, Bartlettâs smile faded slightly. He was worried and wanted to call her, but considering she was with Theo, it might not be convenient for her to take the call. He held back and cautiously texted back. âAre you okay?â
Ellinor quickly replied. âIâm fine.â
He felt relieved to know that she was alright.
But it was better to get her out of there as soon as possible to minimize her contact with Theo.
