Before Ellinor could utter another word, Balfour gently pressed his finger against her lips. “Listen, your main priority right now is to rest. Leave the other matters aside for now, okay? You need strength to see your baby, don’t you?”

Ellinor fell silent.

Without leaving any room for her to argue, Balfour quickly made arrangements. “Ida, stay here with her and let her sleep a little more. Chase, Ms. Wesley, come with me, please. We don’t want too many people in the room since Ellinor has just given birth.”

Everyone agreed without question. Those who needed to stay did so, and the others followed Balfour out of the room.

As the room quieted down, Ida tucked Ellinor in. “Boss, you should sleep a little longer. When you wake up, you’ll be able to see your baby.”

Ellinor, drained and weak, could barely keep her eyelids open. “If Theo comes, wake me up, okay?”

A complicated look flashed across Ida’s eyes, and she managed a weak smile. “Sure, if Mr. Blanchet shows up, I’ll wake you up immediately.”

Satisfied, Ellinor slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Outside the room, Balfour turned to Chase and Belinda with a serious expression.

“I can’t leave the hospital, but I’ve sent people to search for Theo. However, the more, the merrier.

Chase, you should also gather some people and begin a search. We must find that scoundrel and the first child before Ellinor finds out!”

Chase nodded without hesitation. “Alright, I’ll organize a search team.”

Belinda snorted. “I’ll lend a hand too. I’ll head over to the Blanchet residence and see if Uncle has returned home.”

Balfour nodded. “If you find out anything about his whereabouts, contact me immediately.”

After coordinating their plans, they went their separate ways.

Balfour stayed at the hospital, avoiding the room so as not to disturb his sister. He went to the nursery instead, his heart melting as he watched his niece and nephew through the glass.

Thinking about the other child who couldn’t be properly cared for in the incubator made him grit his teeth in frustration.

Nobody had expected him to just take the first child without saying a word.

Outside the hospital, Chase and Belinda went their separate ways.

Chase led a team to the major transportation hubs to search for Theo, while Belinda hailed a cab and headed straight for the Blanchet villa.

Upon arriving at the villa, she was led into the courtyard by the Blanchet family’s butler. There, she saw Veronica tending to the flowers with Marissa.

Not wanting to alarm the elder Blanchets, Belinda casually greeted Marissa before pulling Veronica aside for a chat.

Veronica looked puzzled. “What brings you here? Do you need something?”

Belinda leaned in closer and lowered her voice. “Veronica, has my uncle been here?

Veronica frowned in surprise. “You mean Theo? No, he hasn’t. Why?”

Belinda felt a surge of disappointment. “Are you sure he hasn’t been here?”
