Veronica furrowed her brows, eyeing Ellinor hesitantly. “Are you suspecting that her husband is…”

There was a shadow of doubt in Ellinor’s mind, but she felt her suspicion didn’t quite add up.

Could it really be Theo?

Even if Sophia managed to snag Theo and elude their investigation, how could Theo willingly stay with such a scheming woman and even have a child with her?

“Never mind; I don’t even know what I’m suspecting. She said her husband’s last name is Rogers, so maybe we’re overthinking it.”

Everyone decided not to mention to Ellinor that she had actually given birth to triplets, fearing it would upset her. Veronica, however, knew the truth. She had a gnawing suspicion that the child Sophia was carrying was the first baby Ellinor had given birth to.

Veronica gritted her teeth. “I’m going to find out who her husband really is!”

Ellinor simply shrugged off Veronica’s intense reaction and sipped her juice through a straw.

She didn’t think a strong-willed man like Theo would willingly stay by Sophia’s side and be controlled by her, let alone have a child with her.

However, she would need to look into Sophia’s purpose for returning to the country.

After dinner with the kids, Veronica didn’t join them in the car, claiming, she was going to visit a friend.

She hailed a cab and left.

Ellinor simply reminded her to come home early and took the kids back home.

Veronica headed straight to the Crescent Society.

As soon as Ida returned from a meeting, she found Veronica waiting outside her office, looking grave.

“Miss Blanchet,what brings you here? Is there something you need?”

She adjusted the gold-rimmed glasses on her face as she asked.

Veronica rose to her feet, nodding solemnly. “Yes! There’s a situation.”

A situation?

Ida instinctively thought it had something to do with the boss. She ushered Veronica into her office.

“Have a seat, Miss Blanchet. What’s the situation you just mentioned?”

Without taking a seat, Veronica began. “Today, Ellinor and I took the kids out. She said she saw Sophia at the preschool gate.”

Hearing Sophia’s name after such a long time made Ida pause and raise an eyebrow. “So she saw her.

Did she do anything to our boss?”

Veronica shook her head. “No, not yet. But Ellinor said Sophia was carrying a child. She also said she’s married now, and her husband’s last name is Rogers. Miss Gipson, haven’t you been monitoring Sophia’s every move all these years? Have you noticed her getting married? Who is her husband? And when did she have this child?”

Ida frowned. “She has a child? We did have people keeping tabs on her and Thaddeus International Corporation, but we didn’t notice anything unusual. Thaddeus is very good at counter-surveillance and often gives our people a run for their money. Also, Sophia has been traveling to various cities on her family’s private jet for years. They have their own airport, which is a hard nut for us to crack.”
