Bryan deliberately leaked some news to Chase. âI heard from a friend that Belindaâs folks are setting her up on blind dates and pushing her to get married. Sheâs pretty much given up on the idea of falling in love, but sheâs all in on the whole marriage thing right now, saying sheâll settle for just about anyone.
Chase, if you donât step it up, sheâs going to be walking down the aisle for someone else.â
Chase quirked a smile and flung himself deep into thought. âIs that so?â
Bryan continued. âI heard sheâs meeting the son of a family friend at S Melodies Restaurant this weekend. It was arranged by her family. You might want to check it out.ââ
After saying this, Bryan quickly turned and dashed to hop into Idaâs car.
Ida was waiting for Chase, but instead of coming over, he went in the opposite direction to get into his own car.
After seeing Chase leave, Ida frowned and glanced sideways at Bryan. âWhat did you say to him?â
Bryan lounged in the passenger seat. âNothing much. He probably had something come up. Letâs go!
Werenât you craving some barbecue?â
Ida sighed, knowing that the impish Bryan was definitely behind this, but she couldnât do anything about it.
With a press on the gas pedal, she drove out of the underground parking lot..
After Tristan woke up, Ellinor took the three kids to the nearest toy store, allowing each of them to pick out a toy they liked.
Baber and Layla were not shy at all and enthusiastically browsed through the various aisles.
Tristan, on the other hand, was a bit reserved. He simply held onto Ellinorâs hand, sticking close to her.
Ellinor looked down at him. âWhy arenât you picking anything?â
Tristan looked up at his beautiful mommy. âDaddy said when weâre out, I canât just ask other people for presentsâ¦â
Ellinor felt a pang in her heart. âAm I still âother peopleâ to you?â
Tristan quickly shook his head. âNo! Youâre my mommy. I trust you!â
Ellinor patted his little head. âThen go ahead and pick out a toy! Mommyâs not just âother people;â
anything Mommy gives you is rightfully yours. Go on, go pick out a toy with your brother and sister.â.
Tristan blinked his big eyes and nodded. He finally let go of Ellinorâs hand and headed towards the shelves to look at the toys.
Ellinor watched her three children from a short distance with a gentle look in her eyes.
âYouâre quite good with the kids, arenât you?â
After hearing a voice behind her, Ellinor paused. She turned to see Sophia strutting towards her in a sexy outfit, Recovering herself, Ellinor raised an eyebrow, âYou flatter me. What a coincidence, Ms. Sophia.
Shopping for toys?â
Sophia stopped in front of her, crossing her arms. âYes. Iâm looking for the latest toys for my son, so I can bring them home and make him happy.â
Ellinor responded. âThe best way to get toys for kidsâ is to let them choose. Kids have their own tastes;
they might not always like the newest toys.â
Sophia sniffed. âYou make a valid point. But my son is at home playing with his dad right now. He didnât want to come out and choose toys.â
Ellinor gave a nonchalant shrug. âIs that so? Your happy family does sound quite enviable.â
Sophia squinted at her, unable to read any anomalies from Ellinorâs expression. Did she know nothing?
âEllinor, whatâs there to envy about me? Iâm the one whoâs envious of you. You had three young children all at once! What a lively household!â
