After noticing Dominicâs stunned expression, Chase gave the table a friendly rap. âWell? Donât believe my business card is legit?â-
Dominic picked up the card, casting a skeptical glance at Chaseâs sharp Armani suit and the commanding air only a top executive could pull off.
âIf you want me to believe who you say you are, get me a job at Crescent Society.â
At Dominicâs audacious demand, Chase laughed. âYouâve got some nerve, donât you?â
Dominic crossed his arms with a challenging grin on his face. âWhatâs the matter? Canât do it? If you canât, youâre a fake!â
Chase chuckled. âI donât need to prove anything to you, but seeing as youâre a top graduate from a prestigious university, I wouldnât mind having a talent like you in our company.â
Belinda gave Chase a surprised look after hearing this.
What was he thinking? This guy was all talk and no action. Why would Chase want someone likeâ him?
Dominic was thrilled. He may not have won Belinda over but securing a job at a top company was a bonus he hadnât expected.
âMr. Larios, you indeed have an eye for talent. What position do you have in mind for me?â
Chase smirked. âYouâll find out tomorrow. I promise I wonât waste your skills.â
Dominic pocketed Chaseâs business card as his face beamed. âMr. Larios, itâs a deal. Iâll be at your companyâs HR department first thing tomorrow morning.â
With that, he got up to leave, not wanting to disturb Mr. Larios and Belinda any longer.
After all, he was only attracted to Belinda for her looks. He didnât mind letting Mr. Larios have her.
âHold on.â
Chase called out to him.
Now viewing Chase as his future boss, Dominic couldnât help but be a little more polite. âYes, Mr.
Larios? Is there anything else you need from me?â Chase sat back in his chair with an eyebrow raised.
âI didnât mention the condition of your employment. Why so eager to leave?â
Condition? Dominic asked curiously, âWhat condition?â
âAs youâve seen on my card, Iâm only the vice president. Our CEO is a woman. Her rule is that all employées must respect women, and your remarks towards Ms. Wesley earlier didnât seem very respectful, did they?â
Dominic furrowed his brow and tried to explain himself. âMr. Larios, I didnât mean what I said earlier.
She was the one who insulted me first!â Belinda, who had been silent all this while, couldnât help but speak up. âWho started it? How can you lie so blatantly? You were the one who insulted me first!â
Dominic glared at Belinda, but in front of Chase, he didnât dare act out. For the sake of a decent job, he put on a fake smile. âMs. Wesley, letâs not argue over who started it. In any case, I apologize if I offended you.â
Belinda looked at his hypocritical face with distaste. I donât accept your apology!â
Dominic didnât care whether Belinda accepted his apology or not. He was putting on a show for Chase.
âMr. Larios, Iâve apologized to Ms. Wesley. Thatâs respect for women, right?â
Chase, who had been leaning back in his chair with one hand propping up his head, looked at him with an amused smile. âWhen I walked in, what were you about to do to Ms. Wesley?â
Dominicâs face stiffened, and he started laughing nervously. âI was just angry then⦠and besides, Mr.
Larios, you stopped me in time. I didnât actually do anything wrong.â
