Belinda burst into laughter. âOh, youâre so easy to scare! I was just testing your boyfriend. If he was that easy to scare off, he wouldnât be worth it anyway.â
A pouty expression appeared on Veronicaâs face. She was clearly not pleased.
Moran, with a smile, put his arm around Veronica. âI know her well. Sheâs got a temper, but it doesnât scare me.â
Belinda raised her glass to him with a smile. âWell then, hereâs to you whisking our Ms. Veronica off her feet soon.â
Moran picked up a cocktail from the bar and toasted her back. âThank you; Iâll do my best.â
Belinda took a sip of her drink as her eyes showed a hint of admiration. Then she patted Veronica on the shoulder. âGood catch! Make sure you treasure him.â
Veronica huffed at her. If it werenât for her wedding day, sheâd definitely pick a fight with her.
Belinda left to join her husband, Chase, in greeting their guests.
Moran, with his arm around Veronica, guided her in a different direction. âLetâs go. There are desserts over there. You love sweets, donât you?â
Veronica was in a bad mood and shook her head. âNo, I donât want to go. I donât feel like eating.â
Noticing her low spirits, Moran leaned down. âWhatâs wrong?â
Veronica stayed silent. Her tight-lipped expression clearly showed she wasnât happy.
Moran patiently waited before saying, âIf somethingâs bothering you, you need to tell me so I can explain. If you donât, itâs hard for me to understand.â
Veronica still refused to speak.
Feeling helpless, Moran let go of her. âWell, go enjoy yourself for a while. I seem to be the root of your bad mood, so Iâll leave.â
Veronica grabbed his hand. âDonât⦠donât goâ¦â
Only then did Moran stop and turn back to her. âReady to talk now?â
Veronica nodded honestly. âIs⦠is my temper really that bad?â
Moran understood the problem and laughed cheerfully. âWhat do you think?â
Veronica pouted unhappily. âIâll try to change. I⦠Iâve been like this my whole life. You have to give me time to change.â
Moran frowned slightly in resignation. âWho said you had to change?â
Veronica looked up at him. âYou wonât leave me because of my temper, right?â
Moran patted her head. âIf I were bothered by that, I wouldnât have been with you from the start.
Everyone has their flaws. Iâm far from perfect, too. Iâm more worried about you finding fault with me.â
Veronicaâs face finally lit up. âNo, Moran, youâre perfect! You have no flaws in my eyes. I would never judge you.â
Moran laughed. âWell then, I better be careful.â
Veronica blinked, feeling confused. âCareful of what?â
âCareful that you donât discover my imperfections and dump me. I need to keep pretending to be perfect.â
Finally, a smile broke through on Veronicaâs face. âNo way! Youâre the best in my eyes. Youâre my dream guy. I feel super lucky to be with you!â
Moran pulled her into his arms. âYouâre also great in my eyes. I feel lucky too.â
