Theoâs touch left Ellinor trembling. âWhat are you doing?â
Theo stood up straight and pressed his forehead against hers. âWhat do you mean, what am I doing?â
His voice was warm and inviting, and his nose just missed hers as he tried to lean in for a kiss.
Quick as a flash, Ellinor put a finger to his lips as a warning crossed her furrowed brow. âThatâs enough!â
The man didnât get his kiss, so a regretful look appeared in his eyes. âWhy?â
Ellinor stared at him. âDo you think this is the time for that? Let go of me. I have questions for you!â
Theo was reluctant to let go. âI wonât run away. We can talk later, okay?â
Ellinor almost fell for his charms. She had to gather all her wits to keep her cool. âNo! I canât escape either. You can⦠laterâ¦â
She couldnât finish her sentence. Her face turned a deep shade of red.
Upon seeing her like this, Theo chuckled and gently caressed her cheek. âLater⦠what?â
Ellinor was flushed with embarrassment and pushed the tall, handsome man away with all her strength.
âNothing! Just behave!â
Theo finally agreed to let her go, but only to the extent of not pursuing his *** intentions. He didnât completely let go of her.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
He picked her up, sat down on the office chair with her on his lap, and held her as if she were a precious gem. âOkay. Weâll continue later. Ask your questions.â
Ellinor was in a mess. Her mind was racing, and she was unsure of where to start her questioning.
âLet go of me! How am I supposed to question you like this?â
Theo simply leaned in and nuzzled her cheek. âWhy canât you? I havenât gagged you. Or is it that you canât keep calm with me so close? Are you distracted?â
Ellinor frowned and pushed away his flawless face. âIâm not! Iâm going to ask you now, so listen! First question, does Sophia know youâve run off?â
After hearing Sophiaâs name, Theoâs eyes flashed with annoyance. âShe didnât know yesterday, but she probably does now.â
Ellinor stared at him. âSo, whatâs your plan now?â
Greenhaven Hotel.
Sophia had just woken up. After causing trouble at Belindaâs wedding yesterday, she found a bar to drown her sorrows.
Normally, when Marcus was around, she didnât drink much. Marcus didnât like her drinking. Whenever she did, he would stop talking to her and keep his distance.
She was afraid of Marcus disliking her, so she rarely touched alcohol.
After sending Marcus off on a plane to M State, she felt a lot more at ease. At least for the time being, she didnât have to worry about Ellinor possibly trying to get Marcus back.
The house in M State was well guarded. Even if Ellinor went to M State, she couldnât get into their yard, let alone take Marcus away.
She should be happy, relaxed, and victorious. But for some reason, she felt a heaviness in her chest. It was a discomfort that wouldnât go away.
She went to a bar and drank a lot.
She used to be a social butterfly, with many friends. They would often gather for meals, drinks, and parties.
But ever since she started keeping Marcus by her side, she had become cautious. She was unwilling to be away from home for too long. She was afraid that Marcus would be gone when she came back.
Gradually, she lost touch with her friends.
