Diana snorted with undisguised contempt.
âCome on, youâve known me long enough to know that I want to be the center of attention, the only one in the spotlight. If thereâs something in my way, Iâll just bulldoze right over it. And if you piss me off, youâll end up the same way. So do yourself a favor and toe the line.â
Their gazes clashed in the mirror.
Dianaâs hand playfully slapped the manâs cheek. Rather than provoking anger, he seemed to thrive on her touch, his excitement growing. He loved that rebel streak in Diana, that undeniable edge.
âAlright, cut it out. Donât hang around me like a lost puppy. Get out of my dressing room before someone sees you,â Diana dismissed him after she had her fill, with no second thoughts or worries.
This man had been under her thumb for years, a mere plaything to while away the time, always trailing behind her âFine, at least let me rinse off and change before I leave,â he said.
The man was one of the lifeguards from earlier, the same one who didnât want to take responsibility.
Nobody could have guessed he was in cahoots with Diana, plotting against Ivy.
Initially hesitant when Diana approached him with the sinister plan, he had reservations despite his love for her. However, when she looked at him with those deep, affectionate eyes, he felt he could sacrifice everything for her, even his life.
How many years had it been since sheâd looked at him with such emotion?
Diana knew he would agree, and deep down, he knew it too. It was just a matter of time.
In exchange for his help, he managed to steal a kiss from Diana.
Despite her strong dislike for Kael, she eventually allowed him to take a quick shower in her dressing room. Letting him leave soaking wet would practically broadcast to the crew that a lifeguard had been in her room.
Unexpectedly, just as he finished his shower and was about to leave, someone knocked on the dressing room door.
They exchanged panicked glances.
âWhoâd be knocking at your door?â
âDid someone see you come in?â
Both fired questions at each other.
Kael, frowning and tense, shook his head. âI made sure no one saw me before I came in.â
Diana hurriedly ushered him back into the bathroom. Now was not the time for slip-ups. She couldnât let anyone find out Kael was in her room!
âGo back in. It might just be someone needing me for somethingâ she said, pushing him toward the bathroom, indicating for him not to just stand there.
Kael finally got the hint and tiptoed back into the bathroom, but the wet footprints he left were unmistakable.
The persistent knocking continued. Diana couldnât worry about that now. She took a deep breath, mustered her composure, and opened the door with a look of irritation.
âWhat now? Havenât I made it clear I needed rest? Why the disturbance?â she snapped.
Standing outside was a bespectacled crew member, someone who seemed to be constantly at Margotâs side.
