“Why can’t I? Ivy is the boss’s wife. Maybe if you apologize, she’ll let you stay.”

Hearing Balfour’s suggestion, Ophelia bit her lip, a look of defiance on her face.

Ivy pulled at Balfour’s arm. “Let’s just go. We’ve got more important things to deal with at home. We don’t need to waste time with them.”

If I were you, I’d apologize right away. Maybe then she’ll have mercy and let you stay-as long as you have no problem with your position here.”

With that, Balfour led Ivy to the door, ready to leave.

Ophelia panicked and called out Ivy’s name.

“Ivy… no, I mean, Ms. Dunhill! I was wrong. I shouldn’t have believed the nonsense online and slandered you. I shouldn’t have said those things. It was all my fault.
