He squinted slightly, got up, and climbed into the car.
In the backseat Patncia and Veronica were sitting together. They had been chatting, but when Balfour got in, their conversation came to a halt.
Patricia, sitting in the middle, tumed to look at Balfour obediently âBalfour, are you done with your stuff?â
Balfour, looking worn out, leaned back in his seat and rubbed his temple, asking, âWhy didnât you go home first?â
Patricia pouted and explained, âIf I had left first, you wouldnât have had a ride. So, I asked Quinton to wait for you a bit.â
Balfour just gave a grunt in response, closing his eyes and saying no more.
On the other side, Veronica couldnât help but ask, âRalfour, did your negotiation with Ellinor go well? Did she agree to leave my brother?â
With a furrowed brow, Balfour suddenly opened his eyes and shot Veronica a glance. âYou really want her to leave your brother?â
Veronica nodded, âYes! Donât you want the same? Only if Ellinor leaves my brother can he go back to Patricia! Balfour, I know how much you care for Patricia; you would definitely remove any obstacles in her way to happiness!â
Balfour shot her a warning glance, âMs. Blanchet, Iâd suggest you keep your nose out of this. Donât disrespect Theoâs wife, Ellinor, or I wonât stand by and watch, even if Theo doesnât care!â
Veronica was taken aback, âBalfour? Why?â
Patricia was stunned too. She hadnât misheard, Balfour had actually referred to Ellinor as Theoâs wife.
What was going on? Why was Balfour suddenly taking Ellinorâs side?
Balfour said. âMs. Blanchet, we donât welcome Blanchet family members in our car. Please get out.â
After feeling the pressure from Balfour, Veronica was scared. She got out of the car awkwardly. She had originally planned to go to the Howard familyâs home with Patricia After Veronica got out, Quinton drove the car away.
Inside the car, Patricia tried to lighten the mood, asking, âBalfour, what did you say to Ellinor today?â
âItâs none of your businessâ
Balfour was in a bad mood; he clearly didnât want to discuss it Patricia moved closer to Balfour on purpose, cooing, âBalfour, even if itâs none of my business, canât you tell me? Iâm so curious! Your relationship with Ellinor wasnât good before, why did you go to the Blanchet familyâs villa to see her today?â
Balfour gave her a cold glance and retorted, âIs Baber willing to talk to you now?â
Patricia froze, âUh..â
Balfour said sternly to her, âFirst off, you should worry about your own business and stop being so nosy about other peopleâs affairs!â
Patricia was taken aback. She didnât expect Balfour to be so strict with her. She put on a hurt and lost face, saying. âBalfour, I know I should be focusing on Baber, but since Theo doesnât need me anymore, I feel so heartbroken, soâ¦â
Balfour had heard enough. He cut her off, saying, âIf a guy doesnât love you anymore, you shouldnât keep pestering him. You should find some meaningful things to do! As a girl, your life doesnât have to revolve around men!â
