âMr. Howard, weâve got a situation!â
Byran was in the middle of doing his homework when Carlos rushed in, interrupting his train of thought.
Irritated, he said, âWhatâs up now? Carlos, if you keep panicking like this, Iâll slap you!â
Carlos looked innocent, âMr. Howard, there really is a situation. I just saw a guest arrive downstairs.
Dean and Alyssa are being super nice to her.
Byran was even more irritated, âSo what? We always have guests. Theyâre just old friends of my grandparents, thereâs nothing weird about that.â
Carlos shook his head, âNo, itâs different this time. Itâs not an old friend of Dean and Alyssaâs, itâs a young girl. You know her too!â
Byran frowned, âA young girl that I know? Who? Carlos, can you just tell me everything at once?â
Carlos said, âItâs that Ms. Mendoza who always gives you a hard timeâ
Byran immediately put down his pen, looking surprised, âEllinor?!â
Carlos nodded, âYes, Ellinor! Mr. Howard, donât you think itâs weird? The Howards and the Blanchets have been on bad terms for years. Why are Dean and Alyssa treating Ellinor like sheâs their savior?â
Byran wasnât listening anymore; his eyes were burning with rage, âEllinor dared come here?! Where is she? I need to settle some old scores with her!â
Carlos replied, âDean just took her to the garden. Mr. Howard, what old scores do you have to settle with Ellinor?â
Byran rolled up his sleeves determinedly. âYou donât need to know! Finish my homework for me; Iâve got to step out for a bit.
Carlos looked troubled, âMr. Howard, I canât do your homework for you. If Balfour finds out, heâll kick me out!â
Byran said dismissively. âJust do it! If you donât tell, I wonât tell, how would he know? Hurry up and write it for me!â
Carlos shook his head in exasperation. He knew he shouldnât have told Mr. Howard the news.
The Howard familyâs garden was huge. Apart from the house in the middle, the rest of the area was filled with various plants. It was very well maintained and looked absolutely beautiful.
Dean was leaning on a cane with the help of a servant, happily introducing to Ellinor which flowers he planted and which ones were taken care of by his wife, Alyssa.
Ellinor was listening to Deanâs introduction while observing the environment of the Howard familyâs home.
She didnât have much of an impression of the Howard familyâs home.
If her mother had taken her away from the Howard family when she was already five years old, she shouldâve been able to remember things from that age, but aside from a vague sense of familiarity, she had no memory of this place.
Or perhaps she had almost no memories from before she was five.
As she was walking, she noticed a particularly stunning sea of flowers in front of her. The flowers were a rare grayishâblue color and were incredibly beautiful.
Ellinor had never seen such flowers before. She was about to ask Dean what they were when she turned around and saw that the old manâs face was slightly off, âGrandpa Dean, are you okay?â
Grandpa Dean stopped walking and rubbed his head, âIâm fine. Iâm just really happy that you came to see me today. I forgot to take my blood pressure medicine this morningâ
Hearing this, the servant immediately became nervous, âDean, how could you forget to take your medicine? You absolutely canât forget that. Iâll take you back to take it right now.â
Dean felt it would be inappropriate to leave a guest halfway through a tour, so he wanted to hold on a little longer.
Ellinor saw what Dean was thinking and said, âGrandpa Dean, itâs okay. Go back and take your medicine first. Iâll walk around by myself for a bit and come find you later.â
