Chapter Eleven: Updated and Edited 2025
"I think i should make sure that Bella gets something to eat" I hear Edward say to Jessica and Angela from a distance "Her sister said that she wanted me too"
I smile and i watch as Edward ushers Bella into the restaurant and i hear her asking questions
"Where is Kate? I can't believe that we just left her there! What if the guys come back and-"
"Bella, i'm sure that Kate is fine, and don't worry, she can handle herself" He says smiling, probably because he can hear my thoughts from outside, asking him to make sure that Bella is safe.
Please don't tell her about what i am, i want to tell her myself... she may ask questions but just let me tell her when i am ready
I say in my head and then i see Edward give a thumbs up behind Bella's back and i smile.
I wasn't gonna tell you this, but Bella brought a book tonight, a book about your kind, i think she knows... about me as well
I see Edward turn around and nod at me as he closes the restaurant door behind him and Bella.
They walk in and take a seat.
I, still in my wolf form, decide I will hunt and then run home.

"Dad?" I call as i walk through the front door, but i get no response.
"Dad?" I call again as i walk further into the house, putting Bella's truck keys on the table by the door, walking into the kitchen.
I had ended up going back ti the shopping village after I realised Bella had left her car when she got rescued by Edward.
"Dad?!" I shout as I begin to grow worried.
I walk into the sitting room but i don't see him there.
I sniff the air, but i don't smell any unfamiliar scents.
I sigh as i look at the kitchen counter and i see a note.
'Girls, i've had to go back to work. If i'm not back when you come home then you can either make something to eat or order in- Dad'
At least he left me a note.
I scrunch the paper up and i drop it in the trash as i walk into the other room and i sit on the couch.
I pull my legs up next to me as i grab the remote and i turn on the tv.
'Todays top news is that there is yet another animal attack-'
"What?" I breathe as i look closer at the tv
'The police and sheriffs department have told us that there is no need to worry as they have not yet confirmed the type of animal responsible, considering it not being linked to the pervious cases. They described the wounds found on the victims body as resembling puncture marks. It had been confirmed that these injuries were found around the neck and wrists-'
"Vampires" I say out loud as i turn the tv off and i grab my coat.
I lock the door behind me and i begin to run to Dads work.

"Bella, Dad!" I say as i walk up to them, both sitting near his desk, looking at a computer screen "I just heard what happened on the news.. Dad they said it was Waylon, i'm so sorry, i know that you two were close" I say as i wrap my arms around my Charlies middle as he stands up from his desk.
"It's ok, sweetie, you couldn't have done anything" Dad says as he sits back down again.
'You couldn't have done anything'
But what if i could have.
"I'm really sorry" Bella says as she puts an arm around his shoulders and he squeezes her hand.
"Don't worry, we're gonna... we're gonna find this thing" He says as he tries not to cry. "In the mean time i want you two to carry this with you" He says as he hands us both a can of pepper spray.
"If it makes you feel better" I say as i grab a can off him and put it in my pocket.
"Honestly Dad, i think katelynn can handle herself" Bella says as she looks at me.
Oh no, please dont bring up what i did this morning
"She has those strong muscles" Bella says and i agree with her, letting out a breath.
"Yeah, Dad, i'll be fine" I say

The next day, at school, Bella started acting strange.
"Bella..Bella!" I say as she glances off in the distance, day dreaming.
"Humm, what, sorry?" She answers as she looks at me
"I told you that it wasn't a good idea to stay up all night, on your laptop. What were you doning anyway?" I ask as i laugh, slightly.
"Oh, umm, i was just researching" she says as we continue on walking.
"Researching what?" I say as we walk through the school yard.
"Nothing, Just some history for..."
"History class?" I say and she nods
"Yeah, that's it, for history class" She says as we reach the fence on the other side of the yard.
"Bella" I say as i turn her to face me. "I'm not the best at spotting when people are lying, but it's pretty obvious that you are. I'm your sister, you can tell me" I say, smiling encouragingly at her as i hold her hands in mine.
"Ok, but you are going to think that i'm crazy" She says "But, i've been researching about Edward"
I raise an eyebrow, but she continues
"I know that you and i both know that something is off about him"
I stay quiet, not knowing what to say.
"I think he might be a-"
She courts herself off the second she spots Edward and she freezes up.
Instead of turning away from him, like I might expect, she walks over to him as I follow after her.
"Lets go" She says as she takes his hand "you have a lot of explaining to do" she finishes
I see it in his face that he knows that she knows about him. I assume it's from reading her mind.
'I didn't tell her, it wasn't my place' I say in my head as i walk into the school.
I see Edward walking after Bella, into the woods.

It gets to the end of the school day and Bella is not back yet.
I sigh as i begin the walk home, as she has the keys to her van that we came in.
By the time i get home, it's late.
I decided to walk home instead of run as i needed to think over some things.
I walk up to the front door and just as i am about to open the door i smell him.
I smile as i turn around.
"Well would you look who it is?" I say as he wraps his arms around me and i smile.
"Why are you home so late?" He asks
"Decided to walk, so that i could think over some things" I say, sighing.
He looks at me, concerned "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asks me.
"No, it's ok Jake, i don't want to bore you with my problems" I say as he pulls me closer to him.
"Katelynn, nothing about you bores me, not even your problems" He tells me and i laugh as i tap his nose
"Dork" I say as i laugh.
"I am not!" He says.
"You are too!" I answer back as he pulls me flesh against him and my breath hitches.
"You like this dork though, right?" He asks as he looks into my eyes.
"I'm definitely falling for him... more then he knows" I say and i inch my face closer to his and i smile as i feel his lips press into mine.
I pull away after a sweet, short kiss.
"I've got to go" I say as i bite my lips as i gesture to the door that's behind us. "I wasn't expecting to se you here" I admit
"I came over with my Dad... I think Charlie needed to see him after Waylons death" he says sadly
I nod with a sigh
"Yeah, I had better go and check that he's ok. I will see you tomorrow" I say, smiling at the thought of spending Saturday with him. I give his lips one last peck.
"I actually came with them hoping I would see you... I wanted to tell you something" Jacob says as he looks at me, innocently.
"Oh, yeah, and what's that?" I say as i turn to him, stopping turning my key that's in the lock of the door.
"The prom theme of our school is Enchanted Forest, i mean if you still want to go with me?" He says and i smile as i open the door and step inside.
"Of course i still want to go with you.... You still want to go with me, right?" I ask, second guessing myself
Jake smiles as he nods
"Definitely" He says
