Chapter twenty two: Updated and Edited 2025
Sitting on the couch i have my legs up next to me.
I have my elbow on the back of the couch and my head is resting on my hand.
I feel a hand on my back and i move up so that Jacob can sit behind me.
He wraps his arms around my waist as he keeps me in between his legs, in a hold
"She'll be ok" Jacob whispers in my ear.
We were currently back at the pack house waiting for the news on Bella's condition. She had been taken to hospital soon after the vampire venom had been sucked from her blood stream.
"I know, it's just taking too long."

After getting a phone call later in the day, i end up next to Bella in the hospital.
"Kate" Bella says when she sees me walk in.
"Bella, i'm so sorry" I say as i sit on the side of her bed.
"No, don't blame yourself.. i shouldn't have left Edward and gone"
"No, he was threatening you, you had to go" I say as i hug her.
I pull back "What have you told Mum?" I ask.
"I told her that i tripped down 2 flights of stairs, well i didn't, Edward did"
I nod "What did she say?"
"I'm going home with her for a bit" She answers
I nod as Mum walks into the room
"Kate!" She says as she hugs me and i stand up from the bed.
"Mum" I say as i hug her back.
We pull away and i see Jacob enter the room behind her. "Umm. Mum, i want you to meet Jacob, my boyfriend" I say as Jacob comes and stands next to me.
"Hi" Jacob says as he shakes hands with my Mum.
"Is this the guy?!" My Mum says, not so subtly.
"Yes, Mum" I say, glaring at her as Jacob looks at me, confused
"Oh my gosh, Baby, I'm so happy for you, he's so cute!" She says as she hugs me and as i'm hugging her i glare at Jacob as he raises his eyebrow at me.

The next day I woke up to Jacob. He had slept next to me that night, in mine and Bella's room, as Bella had to stay in the hospital. I still felt as though I couldn't leave Charlie.
I was sad for Bella in her state, but I was also mad at her. I had planned to move into the pack house with Jacob- there was no way I could do that now that Dad was on his own. Not after how Bella left him, just like our Mum.
Still I wasn't going to let anything stop me from moving forward with my plans to be with Jacob. I had found my mate- we were happy and I wanted us to continue to grow closer...
"Are you sure i'm ready?" I ask as i sit in the car, outside the pack house, with Jacob.
"Yes, i'm sure you're ready, come on" He says as we get out of the car and he holds my hand as we walk in.
"Hey" I say as i hug some of the girls.
"Are you ready?" Leah asks me and i let out a big breath out
"I'm ready" I say as we all walk outside and i prepare myself to be apart of the pack.
