"My liege. Your coronation is today. You have to get ready!" Kikimora knocks on the door, waking up both girls.
Luz holds her head and falls back into her bed "Ok ok!!! I'm getting ready! Just... 5 more minutes."
Amity laughs and gets out of bed and stretches "Come on lazy bones! It's your big day! Now get up." Amity grabs all of the covers and rips them off the tired human.
Luz groans and throws her pillow to muffle her face "Noooo. I'm the main event. They have to wait for me anyway."
Amity laughs "Luuzzzz! Get up or I'll get you up myself."
"Ha! You're bluffing. You don't have the guts." Luz starts to doze back to sleep.
Amity smirks and draws a circle, summoning a large abomination. "Abomination rise. Abomination, carry." The abomination turns to Luz and picks her up out of bed.
"AHH! Amity Blight put me down this instant!!" Luz yells, trying to escape the slimy grip of the abomination.
Amity laughs and shrugs "Your wish is my command. Abomination... Drop..." the abomination drops Luz flat in her face and disappears back into the ground. Amity is laughing so hard, tears are falling down her cheeks.
Luz tries to put on an angry face but she can't help but laugh as well. "Ha. Ha. Ha. You got me there Blight. Now help me up. I have to put on my official empress gown." Luz says in a sarcastic tone, mocking Kikimora "Ugh. They're making like a hundred of these now because it's all I'm ever going to be wearing."
Amity stops her laughing and wipes away her tears. She holds out her hand for the human and helps her up "Oh don't be dramatic. You're in charge. When you're in the castle and on the throne you have to wear the gown. But when you go out, you can wear whatever you'd like. And you can't forget about your school uniform."
Luz scoffs and rolls her eyes "Oh yay. Another uniform. I guess it won't matter since it's for only a couple of years. But I honestly have no clothes. Only my emperors' coven wear, and my official gown. Ooo and my pj's. Wow... I'm 14 and I've never been shopping."
Amity jumps up in excitement "That's great! Not the part where all your life choices were controlled for your entire life. But the part where you've never been shopping! I'll be your first!!" Amity smiles but then realizes her choice of words. Her eyes open wide and she gets all red and starts to panic "I MEANT ILL BE YOUR FIRST SHOPPING PARTNER. NOT PARTNER PARTNER, I MEAN SHOPPING BUDDY OR PAL."
Luz steps up to the panicked witch and places both hands on her shoulders "AMITY!!!" Amity stops babbling and looks at Luz "I know what you meant. You can relax, ok? Now let's get ready. I had Lilith tell your mom to bring you formal wear for the ceremony. A guard will take you to her and I'll meet you in the throne room."
Amity just nods and walks out of the room, still red from her panic. Amity is then escorted to her mother's office, to change for the coronation.
Luz smiles and takes a deep breath. She cleans up the mess and makes her bed. Luz then grabs her official gown and gets dressed. The last official gown Luz had on had to be thrown out due to the bloodstains on it. Looking at her own reflection gave Luz a chill down her spine. She once again takes a deep breath and heads out.
Luz is immediately greeted by Kikimora, Lilith, and a couple of guards. "Luz, are you ready for your big day." Lilith gives Luz a welcoming smile.
Luz forces a smile, trying to forget the memory from a couple of days ago "Yup! Let's just get this over with."
Kiki steps forward presenting a gift to Luz "Luz, this is for you. The emperor had it made for this special day. It's an exact replica of his."
Luz stared at the object Kiki was handing her. When the Titan used her first staff to stab her father, she discarded the staff, unable to even look at it. "A... A staff. It's the same staff he wielded..." Luz's eyes started to water, but she held back her tears. Luz suddenly couldn't move, filled with fear of becoming just like her father, feared and hated.
Lilith looked at Luz and saw her discomfort. She grabbed the staff from Kiki and placed the staff in Luz's hand for her. "Luz, just because you have this staff now, doesn't mean you have to use it right away. Take your time."
Luz gives Lilith a weak nod and motions for the group to head to the throne room. The group starts to walk in an orderly fashion. Luz is nervous but continues to take deep breaths to calm her nerves. What usually calms Luz down is thinking about demonology, but lately what usually clams the human down is a certain green-haired witch. With Luz's inner self finally free, she's discovered new and intense feelings for her witch companion. She'll have to figure those feelings out later though. Right now she has to focus on this special occasion.
Only the high-ranking members of each coven were invited to the actual crowning of Luz. Luz however took it upon herself to invite a few familiar faces to this exclusive part. Kiki advised against this but Luz didn't care. The ceremony itself is being held in Bonesburrow, where all the citizens are required to attend with Luz crowned as their new ruler.
Eda, Willow, Gus, and King sit in the back row of the crowd. Eda folds her arms and leans back in her chair "I know Luz likes us more than all these but kissers. Why are we in the back? We should be in the front!" Eda pouts like an 8-year-old in time out.
Willow laughs "Eda, we're not even qualified in the slightest to be here. All these people are either coven leaders or the next best thing to it, and we're two kids, an ex-wanted criminal, and..." Willow looks at King and smiles in awe "The cutest king of demons ever."
King stands up and points to the sky "Yes! I am the cutest, most powerful king who has ever lived. Now bow before me!" The three witches laugh at King.
Amity is sitting with her family, who is situated at the very front of the crowd. Odalia and Aldor are both high ranking in the emperors' coven, they get a special privilege to bring their entire family to attend. And Luz really wanted Amity to be there.
Luz is on the quiet side of the closed doors to the crowded room. Kikimora and Lilith enter the room first, to announce the start of the ceremony. Luz is left alone, with her new empress staff, and her thoughts. "What if I fail as a leader? I'm only 14!!! I can't do this!! I'm not cut out for this!!" Luz closes her eyes and suddenly is brought back to a memory.

Flashback
Luz is 8 years old, crying in the corner of her room. She just had a field trip with the emperor and he made her watch the petrification of a wild witch. Her father wanted to show her what being ruler of the Boiling Isles is like, and how you have to be ruthless to show dominance.
A knock on the door appears and a familiar face walks through the door. "Hey, kiddo. I heard what happened. You ok?"
Luz stands up and runs to her protector "Steve!!! It was horrible! I don't want to rule if it means I have to witness that again!" Luz is crying into Steve as he picks her up and embraces her in a hug.
Steve smiles and holds the human close and tight "That's ok! You don't have to be exactly like your dad. You can learn from the way he rules, and enforce your own way. And knowing you kid, you're going to make one heck of a ruler!"
Luz sniffs and wipes her tears from her cheeks "I don't want to do it alone. Promise me you'll be by my side no matter what! You have to promise!"
Steve laughs and holds up his free hand over his heart "I Steve, personal guard to the future empress of the Boiling Isles, promise to be by your side every step of the way! If it comes to it, I will carry you to your own coronation if it comes to it!"
Both the witch and the human laugh a twirl around, happy to be in each other presence.

Luz opens her eyes only to have a tear fall from them. She is suddenly snapped out of the moment when the ceremony began. The doors swung open to reveal the most powerful being on the Boiling Isles. Luz kept a straight face and fixed her posture. She walked down the aisle, showing her superiority and authority. All eyes were glued to the human to be crowned empress. Luz felt all the eyes and pressure but did not crack under it. What were fifteen seconds felt like hours, Luz finally reached the throne. She stepped up to it and just stared at it as if it was staring back at her. She took a deep breath and turned around to face the crowd. Now all that could be heard, was the steady pace of the bile sac above the powerful human. Kikimora stepped forward and gave the official coronation speech. After about forty minutes, Kiki concluded and Lilith stepped forward. She motioned for Luz to officially take her place as the ruler and to sit on the throne to declare her reign to begin. Luz complied and finally sat down, for only the crowd to stand up and cheer for their new ruler. Luz did not show any emotion on her face but locked eyes with a certain witch. Luz wanted to smile but she didn't want to show weakness to all of the coven leaders. Amity smiled for her and continued to stare deep into the humans' eyes.
Luz stands from the throne and announces "To the celebration!"
The crowd cheers even louder and starts to thin out. Amity waits for the crowd to be non-existant to approach the new ruler of the Isles. "Ah, my liege. It is a great honor to be in your presence." Amity bows obnoxiously and laughs.
Luz laughs as well "Yeah yeah, none of that. How do you feel? Your Grom date is the coolest person on the Boiling Isles." Luz says in a flirty tone but doesn't realize.
Amity smiles wide and flirts back "Hmm. That's a strange way to be referring to me. How does it feel Luz, to be going to Grom with the coolest witch on the Isles??" She bats her eyes in a cocky way.
Both girls erupt into laughter. Before the moment could progress into anything more, Eda and King trample Luz into a big hug. "Luz! You did it. I'm proud of you kiddo."
As King crawls up onto Luz's shoulder Luz looks at Eda and smiles "Thanks, Eda. I owe you a lot."
Eda laughs and playfully punches Luz in the arm "Naaaa. I owe you! I'm not a wanted criminal anymore! And trust me, I have a feeling we're going to be spending a lot of time together anyway!"
Willow and Gus appear next to Amity and smile at their human friend "Luz! You're empress! What do you want to do first?" Willow says.
Gus answers "I would order for all action figures to be delivered to my doorstep immediately!!!!"
The gang laughs at Gus who has a serious expression. As Luz stops laughing she looks at all of her friends in admiration "Well first, I want to enjoy a party. So why don't we do that and figure out the ruling thing later?"
The gang laughs again and agrees. They all head for the castle gates to enjoy a night of fun and celebration.
