Seven years later.
Luz sat on the throne, going over plans with Lilith and Odalia about the anniversary of the Titan's defeat. The human was now 21 and thriving as the Emperess. These past seven years, the human has become overwhelmingly powerful. Like no witch could even compare to the girl.
Every year since the night of the Conformatorium, Luz made that specific day a holiday, celebrating the freedom of the Boiling Isles from the Titan's manipulation. The entire Boiling Isles would take a day off and celebrate with festivals. It was a day for friends and family. The best tradition, according to Luz, was when the witches would get together and make a giant statue of the Titan made of hay, and burn it in the middle of their town square. It was honestly the highlight of everyone's night.
For Luz and the gang, they would always go to the castle and celebrate together their past victory. But before the day even starts, Luz always makes it her mission to visit Steve's petrified statue which resides, where his and Emperor Belos' grave was.
The statue always gave Luz mixed feelings. On one hand, it was Steve's face and inviting eyes, which was a warm familiar feeling to Luz. On the other, the last memories with his body weren't so inviting. Instead, it only brought the girl trauma and guilt.
But that didn't foil the humans' day. Instead, it gave her the drive to be the best leader she could be. To treat all her subjects as equals, and to listen to other points of view when it came time to make any sort of major decision. This alone made Luz a beloved leader. Most looked past her different species aspects and her young age and focused only on her kind heart.
"Luz?"
Luz looks towards the green-haired witch who called out her name and shook her head. She wasn't really paying attention as her mind wandered elsewhere "Huh?"
Odalia sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose, visibly stress with the celebration they're attending later "Luz please pay attention, this is very important."
"Sorry! I promise it won't happen again. Now please repeat what you just said." Luz gives the witch a crooked smile while Lilith laughs under her breath at the human's ill attempt for an apology.
The Blight sighs and removes her hand, and summons a clipboard so it appears directly in front of Luz "As you know you must make an appearance at the festival. Now that the holiday is more popular, I propose that we take a bit more security than last year. You know with the Titan riots."
Luz rolls her eyes at the mention of the rioters. It was a small cult that started to worship the Titan and renounce any future leader of the Boiling Isles that belittled him. They attempted to save the hay statue last year while trying to curse Luz in the process. Luckily most of them were imprisoned and petrified, but some still got away.
Lilith steps forward "I agree. We all know that you could easily handle these hooligans, but we just want to be extra cautious. Can't risk any more attempts on your life."
Luz rises from her throne and begins to walk out of the throne room, with the two witches following closely behind "Yeah, yeah, do whatever you two will make you most comfortable. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a quick date to attend to." Luz winks and Odalia and Lilith and vanishes before their eyes.
Luz disappears and Odalia and Lilith just stare at the space that once occupied the human. The green-haired witch laughs and turns to her colleague "I hate it when she does that."
"Tell me about it. She does it all the time when I bring up the human realm." Lilith sighs and begins to walk with the Blight, down the hallway "She really needs to face it one day. As much as she doesn't want to."
Odalia nods in agreement "I agree. Especially if she were to ever want to grow in her relationship with Amity. I only want Luz to be happy in the future, with no regrets."
"That we can agree on." The two laugh for a moment "Speaking of your daughter. Do you think either of them is ready to pop the question?"
The witch lets out a toothy smile, trying to contain herself, but failing "I sure hope so. I know Amity is ready but she wants Luz to ask the question. On that note, I think Luz will ask Aldor soon. Lately, she's been very nervous around him, and it shows. She's the Emperess of the Boiling Isles, and she asked him if she could use the restroom in her own castle. Can you believe that!"
Lilith facepalms as she laughs out loud, causing a slight echo "Leave it to Luz to ask permission to use her own restroom." Her laughter dies down, and the Clawthorne goes to a more serious tone "But really, I think Luz should face her before she asks Amity the question. It would be healthy for her."
"Agreed." Odalia perks her head as if a light bulb just lit up above her head "What if the human were to do it tonight?" Lilith perks her head up, catching onto what the Blight is scheming, letting one of the crooks of her mouth rise. They end up whispering and planning the dinner for later tonight.
~~
Amity sits on the cliff, dangling her legs while leaning back on the palm of her hands. She takes in her surroundings and looks back on her first kiss at this very spot underneath the tree Luz created the night of Grom. It was her favorite place on the Isles and always visited it to clear her mind.
Luz appears behind the witch unnoticed. The human laughs to herself and creeps up, hoping to scare the Blight. But right before Luz could jump, Amity seemingly disappears into thin air, making the girl very confused. Then, before Luz could think for any longer, Amity jumps out of the tree and scares Luz half to death.
The Emperess screams loud, and holds her hand to her chest to feel her pounding heart beating rapidly "Wowza Ams! You almost gave me a heart attack! Geeze!" Luz takes a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm her heart rate back to normal.
Amity bursts out laughing and holds her hands to her stomach. Strands of her brown hair fall to her face while tears of laughter fall down her cheeks "Oh my! You should have seen your face! I think they went red for a second there!" The witch falls onto her backside, still laughing uncontrollably at her girlfriend's reaction.
Luz finally regains her composure and just laughs along. She shakes her head and dramatically puts her hands on her hips "Laugh it up, Blight! I'll give you this one, but you better watch your back!"
Amity wipes the tears from her eyes and sits up, finally able to quiet down "That's what you said last time! And the time before that. And the time before that!"
Luz shakes her head and takes a seat next to the giggling witch "Well I didn't have two master prankers teach me like you did."
The witch scoots closer to her human and pinches her cheek in a teasing way "Nope! But as much as they teach me their 'ways', they can also be a huge pain in the bile sac."
Luz just smiles at Amity, grateful for her being a part of her life. She stares at the smile painted across her face, and her beautiful golden eyes that reflect the sun. Not waiting another moment, Luz closes the distance between the two, connecting their lips for a loving kiss. It was soft and delicate. It held so much love in it, and so much appreciation. Amity pulled away and smiled with red-tinted cheeks. Luz had the same tint on her face as she stared at the love of her life, taking and appreciating every feature it had to offer.
Luz was lost in the witch's beauty, so Amity finally broke the silence "I got you something."
The lovestruck girl didn't process what Amity said. She just stared and nodded as if she were listening. Amity rolled her eyes and flicked Luz out of her daze. "Hey!" The Emperess rubbed her forehead and noticed a small bag being handed to her. "Babe, you didn't have to."
"No, I did." Amity shoves the bag into Luz's hands. "I found it and thought that you should have it." Luz pecks the witch on the cheek and opens the gift. She removes the paper wrapped around a small picture frame and stares at the gift. She doesn't say a word, just stares and examines the piece of paper placed in the frame. Amity grows anxious and starts to babble nervously "Now I know what you're thinking, 'what the heck is this. why would you frame a light glyph?'. But this isn't just any glyph. You see this-"
"This is one of the glyphs I drew out when you first tutored me. You were confused so I drew a couple out, and I remember you kept one so you wouldn't forget how the pattern went." Luz looked up for the first time from her gift to stare at the beauty that sat beside her. At this moment four simple words rested at the tip of her tongue. She wanted to scream those four words out so loud, but something was holding her back, and she didn't know what.
Amity stared and studied her girlfriend's facial features, trying to read her mind and instantly panicking "Is it weird that I kept it for this long? It's weird, isn't it?"
Luz cups the witch's cheek and strokes it with her thumb. She tilts her head and just smiles. "This is the best gift I've ever received." Her heart pumped, beating the same four words that she is so eager to say. But they never came. For something held the human back, something she had to resolve before she made the next step with her love. "Thank you so much." Not the four words she wanted to say, but the four to substitute for now.
The two girls bask in each other's company for as long as possible. That is until Luz and Amity's emperor's communicators both rang with the same contact appearing on the screen. Luz groans before answering Lilith's call. Amity laughs and shuts Luz's communicator, only to answer hers "What's up Lillith?"
"Amity, good to hear your voice. I know Luz is with you so may you please hand the communicator over to her please?"
Amity giggles and shoves the communicator into Luz's hands. Luz shoots her girlfriend a glare and then holds up the device so her face is visible for the Clawthorne to see her "Hi Lilith."
Lilith rolls her eyes "Luz it's time to come back to the castle for your appearance at the festival."
"But why!" Luz drags out the 'why' and throws her head back. Amity slaps the Eperess's head, causing her to receive another glare from the human.
"Emperess Luz, you created this holiday. It is your responsibility to make an appearance and orchestrate this event."
Luz rubs her head where the witch slapped her and sighs, slouching her shoulders in response "Fine. Amity and I will be there in a moment." Luz snaps the communicator shut and reluctantly hands it back to her girlfriend scolding her. "What?"
Amity stands up "Sometimes you act like you're fourteen again."
"Hey, you fell in love with fourteen-year-old Luz!" Luz follows the Blight's actions and stands up "And would you rather I act like Kikimora? That would be pretty hard to love." Luz crookedly grins, teasing Amity.
Amity crosses her arms and plays along with the childish games the Emperess is playing "Honestly, maybe. Then hopefully it wouldn't feel like babysitting anymore and feel like an actual date."
Luz gasps and places her hand over her chest like she was actually offended. After a moment of silence, both girls burst into laughter. Luz wipes a fake tear from her eye for dramatic effects and grabs hold of Amity's hand "Ok let's go. I don't want another lecture from Lilly about responsibility and the importance of being on time." Amity clams down from laughing and just squeezes Luz's hand in response. They kiss one more time in private, taking in the silence before the festival and dinner. They pull away and Luz just admires the feeling of her girlfriend's lips. "Your lips are so soft."
Amity can't help but smile "Yours too. But if you stall for any longer, Lilith will petrify you herself."
Luz fake pouts and bows her head. "Fine!" Luz raises her pointer finger and just like that, the two are in the Emperess chambers. Luz looks at Amity with a mischievous grin while batting her eyebrows up and down "Oh look at that! I must have cast the spell wrong. Welp, since we're already here..."
Luz tries and drags Amity towards the bed but Amity just isn't having it. The witch draws a spell circle in the air and Luz flies off the ground while the witch still holds onto her hand. "Nope! Not right now! You and I both know we don't have time for that!" She drags her floating human out of her room and heads towards the throne room where Lilith is waiting. Luz actually pouts the whole way, crossing her arms, and wearing a frown while floating through the hallways of her own castle.
The two enter the throne room, only to receive questioning looks from Lilith and Kikimora "What am I looking at?" Lilith looks at Luz with half-lidded eyes, not even asking Luz "Sorry let me rephrase that. Amity, what did she do this time?"
"She just wanted to procrastinate." Amity draws another spell circle, causing the floating Emperess to fall flat onto her face, causing the witches in the room to laugh.
Luz quickly rises to her feet, brushing off her Emperess's gown and putting on a professional act "Ok enough of that!" The three stop their laughing and just stare at the human in amusement. "Shall we get going now!"
Kikimora walks past everyone, leading them out to the gates where there's a carriage waiting for all of them. "Now remember Luz, you are the Emperess. You must be professional, and show the witches of the Boiling Isles the woman you have become."
As the petite creature speaks out loud, two familiar coven members join the group and trample Amity and Luz into a headlock while ruffling up their hair. "Heya! Mittens!" Emira shouts into her younger sister's ear while Edric laughs at Luz attempting to get out of his stronghold "Hey Luz are you using a new conditioner? Your hair is really soft today!" The twins release the couple and stand shoulder to shoulder in their high-ranking cloaks.
"Yes!" Luz groans while she tries to fix her hair up "Thanks to you, all my hard work this morning was for nothing!"
Amity grits her teeth at her siblings and places her hand on Luz's shoulder "Babe, you're literally magic. You can fix it easily."
"It's not as rewarding when I use magic," Luz says while summoning a mirror in front of her while she tries to fix her pixie cut.
While Luz occupies herself with fixing her hair, Amity goes to greet her brother and sister "Edric. Emira. We've talked about this, Mittens is a nickname for when we are in private. And as high-ranking officers of the Emperor's coven, don't you think you two should behave more." The witch emphasise the word 'behave' while fixing her brown hair. "I don't need to remind you that literally, everyone in front of you, right now, outranks you right?"
Edric rolls his eyes at his little sister's subtle gloating "Oh come on Mittens! You know we can't help ourselves." Edric wines while batting his eyelashes at his baby sister.
Emira copies her brother "Yeah! What kind of siblings would we be if we didn't constantly antagonize you and your girlfriend!!"
But before Amity can snap at them, Kikimora steps between the Blight siblings and glares at them all "Enough! We have to go now! Save these childish games for later!"
Edric and Emira both laugh and bow to Kiki in response. Other than Amity, Kikimora is the best victim of the Blight's pranks. They even convince Luz to join in every once in a while. Amity always tries to intervene, but that usually just results in her being pranked as well.
Now that the witches and the Emperess are back on track, they finally reach the front gates and enter the royal carriage. Edric and Emira travel to the front to steer the carriage safely to Bonesburrow. Lilith, Kikimora, Amity, and Luz all get in the carriage and talk about how the event will go and what Luz's responsibilities are. Luz gets easily distracted by the decorations, so Amity really pays attention to all the duties Luz has to complete for her. Without the Blight, Luz would have no clue on what to do.
The festival was packed with happy witches. The whole town was decorated, and every witch Luz laid eyes on had a smile across their faces. It made the human so happy to see the Isles like this. It reassures the human every year.
The first even, Luz dreaded the most. She had to prepare a speech before the start of the celebration to initiate the start of everything. Amity offers every year to write the speech, knowing Luz hates to do it, but the girl feels a need to do it herself. She can't explain it, but she has to just speak from her heart because it wouldn't feel right speaking someone else's words. It would just seem, heartless.
After the fifteen-minute speech, Luz finally casts a spell, lighting up the town's sky of Bonesburrow in fireworks, officially starting the holiday celebration. Luz sat on the stage with Amity, Lilith, Kikimora, and the Blight twins, while all the witches partied and enjoyed their day off.
After a couple of hours, the sun finally set and it was time for everyone's favorite part. The hay statue of the Titan was wheeled to the center of the town square and all the witches gathered around it. Luz and Amity stood up and walked to the foot of the statue together, getting cheers and praises from all those gathered around. Luz whispered to the witch she grasped onto "Would you like to do the honors?"
"You say that every year!" Amity scoffs playfully at her love.
Luz just smiles "And every year, I mean it."
With that, Amity draws a large spell circle, engulfing the hay statue of their former enemy in pink roaring flames. Cheers filled the town, and all the witches danced around the burning Titan. Luz and Amity joined in and danced like it was their last.
After the dance celebration, and the hay was nothing more but ash, Luz and her band of emperor's coven members gathered together so Luz could transport them to the castle instantly. There, Willow, Boscha, and Gus were waiting at the dining table for the rest of their friends to arrive at their annual dinner. Eda, Odalia, and Aldor were all conversing on the side and glanced up with exciting looks at the arrival of Luz and everyone else.
"Let's eat!" Luz yells out to the witches while walking to the end of the table where she takes her seat. Everyone follows and takes their seat at the table and starts to munch down on their food that is served.
While Luz and her fellow Hexside friends converse at one end of the table, the adults converse at the other.
"So, has Luz come to you recently with any questions?" Eda quietly asks, making sure she doesn't pique any interest from the other end of the table.
Odalia and Lilith look at the brown-haired Blight with stars in their eyes, hoping the Blight has a story to tell. Aldor laughs and motions for all the witches to lean in so none of the young adults can hear "She asked for my permission last week."
~~
Last week
Aldor is sitting in his home office, going over the monthly reports he is tasked with. He's drowning in paperwork, when suddenly a knock sounds on his door, making the witch look up for the first time from his duties. "Come in!"
The door slides open to reveal the Emperess in her official gown, looking extremely nervous "M- Mr. Blight."
Aldor immediately stands up and bows. "Emperess Luz. What an unexpected visit! I apologize for the mess! Is everything alright!"
Luz holds her hand up, signaling for the Blight to calm down "Please, I've told you many times to just call me Luz. And everything is fine. I'm here on a more personal note. It's concerning your daughter." The human fidgets with her glove, not making any eye contact with the stressed parent.
"Amity?" Aldor raises an eyebrow "Is she alright? Did something happen?" He stops and really hesitates on what he's about to assume "Did you two have a falling out?"
"NO!" Luz finally looks at the Blight, calming his nerves a bit, but not fully. Her heart pounds against her chest, making her ears feel every beat. The human feels hot all of the sudden and removes her gaze from the brown-haired witch towards her feet. "You know I love your daughter with all of my heart. For a long time now. A-and I- I want to give her everything I have." Aldor finally realizes why the human was on edge and relaxes. A smile creeps upon his face and he starts to walk out from behind his desk and slowly makes his way in front of the girl. Luz notices and takes a singular step back and continues the speech she practiced for three months in the mirror "I have loved her with all of my heart for seven years, and would like to love her for the rest of my- our lives. And to properly do that I would have to ask you for permission."
Aldor takes another step closer to the human and puts both his hands and rests them on Luz's shoulders, making them meet eyes "Luz. Are you asking for my permission to marry my daughter?" Luz goes wide-eyed and freezes for a moment. After a tense moment of silence, Luz swallows the lump in her throat and manages to just nod in response, saying yes with her actions rather than words. A tear forms in the Blight's eye and he wraps the girl into a big bear hug. He laughs out loud while he cries tears of joy that his daughter is finally happy with someone who sees all of her beauty "Emperess Luz. I give you my permission to ask for my daughter's hand in marriage!"
Luz starts to cry as well and wraps her arms around her future father-in-law. After seven years, Luz could finally have a mother and father figure back in her life, that would actually hold the title. The two cry into each other's arms, full of joy.
~~
"I'm surprised she still hasn't popped the question yet," Aldor states while smiling towards the human. Observing how happy she makes his daughter.
Odalia wipes away her tears and Lilith rubs her back for comfort. Eda grabs their attention, knowing Lilith and Odalia's plan to make that happen "We know why. Now we just got to nudge her in the right direction so she can finally ask."
The green-haired witch composes herself and nods in agreement, while Lilith does the same. Now, the Clawthorne sisters and the Blight parents all rise from their seats and walk over to Luz. "Luz, we need to talk with you. Alone."
Luz tilts her head in confusion but follows the four into the hallway. Eda steps forward and places a hand on the girl's shoulder "Kid, you need closure. We all know what you want to ask Amity, but you need to resolve things with Camila before you do."
Luz sighs and looks at all the adults staring at her with pity. "I know. I just don't know if I'll be able to. She won't even remember me."
"Yes and that's my fault. But I think it will really help." Eda tries to lighten the mood, so she ruffles the human's hair "And how dare you think you can't do it. Seven years ago today you defeated the Titan himself. You can do anything kiddo."
Luz smiles at the Owl Lady and gives her a big hug. "Ok. But can you come with me?"
Eda reciprocates the hug and squeezes the human tightly "I'd follow you to the nightmare dimension if you asked."
~~
Luz stands at the door in her human clothes, frozen. For the majority of her life, she was deprived of a mother. She had a chance to meet her, but lashed out of fear and anger and ruined any chance of them having a mother-daughter relationship. Eda stood off into the distance, there for the human at any given moment if she needed it.
"Come on Luz," Luz whispers under her breath, as she stands in front of the door, staring and memorizing the pattern. She inhales all the air she possibly could and knocks two times.
"ONE MOMENT!" A voice screamed from the other side of the door.
Luz's breathing hitched, knowing who it came from. Then the knob turns, and a little boy appears. "Hello?"
Luz holds back her tears, as Eda already told her about Camila's new family. Luz stares at her half-brother and bends down to his level "Hey. I- I'm Luz. Is your mother home?"
The little boy tilts his head like he's seen the young adult standing in front of him before "I'm Hugo. And my mamá is inside."
Just before the little boy could say anything else, the door swings wide open, revealing a beautiful mother "Hugo what have I told you about answering the door."
"You said to wait for you."
"Exactly. Now go clean up your action figures. Let mamá handle this." Hugo waves goodbye and Luz stands back up, meeting the glasses she vaguely remembers. Camila laughs while her son stomps away and finally meets eyes with the same chestnut hue as her own. "Hello! I'm Camila Noceda." She tilts her head like she's seen Luz before, but just can't remember where or when "I'm sorry, have we met before?"
Luz smiles at her mother, finally feeling a weight lift from her shoulders. "Um no. No, we've never met before. I'm Luz." Luz reaches out her hand to shake, and Camila meets her halfway and shakes her long-lost daughter's hand for the first time in nineteen years without even realizing it.
"Luz? My grandmother's name was Luz!" A smile appears on the nurse's face "I told myself if I ever had a daughter that's what I would name her. As you can see, I had a boy instead." The two laugh and part hands, now standing face to face with each other. Luz just stares in awe, happy to finally have this encounter after all this time. Camila tilts her head, just like Luz does sometimes when she's a little confused "Sorry, but I have to ask again. Are you sure we've never met? You seem so familiar."
Luz now has a large lump in her throat, holding back the sobs that threaten to escape the twenty-one-year-olds face. She swallows as best she could, but couldn't hide the shakiness of her voice "You've probably seen me around town. I like to shop at the mall a lot."
Camila looks the young adult up and down "You're probably right. Anyway, may I ask what this visit is about?"
Luz and Eda came up with a plan earlier, knowing that Luz would need an excuse for this visit "Um yes! Of course, I'm doing a quick survey around the town and just asking one question to all the mothers. Would you care to answer it?"
"A survey?" Camila leans on the door frame and lets out a quick laugh "Sure why not!"
Luz clenches her fists and holds the urge to hug Camila on the spot "Are you happy?"
The nurse laughs out loud and lets out a toothy smile towards the Emperess of another realm "Am I happy?" the human mother looks back into her house and stares at her son who is playing with his wizard action figures instead of cleaning them up and admires the view. She turns back around to Luz who has glossy eyes and just says "Extremely. I have a loving husband, who is currently at work, and a wonderful son. I couldn't ask for a better life myself."
That last sentence was what broke Luz. She smiled and let all the tears fall down her cheeks. She didn't care what would happen but she just hugged Camila as tightly as she possibly could. Camila hesitated for a moment but returned the gesture, very confused at the moment. Luz manages to cry out "Good! I'm so happy that you are happy."
Camila rubs Luz back in circles trying to calm the girl down "Uh, thank you?" Luz pulls away and wipes away her tears. Camila looks at the girl "Are you alright?"
Luz laughs "I couldn't be better." This moment, right now, gave the young Emperess the closure she needed. After all these years, she finally saw where she got her good heart from. She finally saw her birth mother happy. "Thank you, Mrs. Noceda. For everything." Luz takes one more look at Camila's chestnut brown eyes and thanks whatever higher power managed to give her this moment.
"Any time. It was a pleasure meeting you Luz." And with that, Camila closes the door, leaving Luz behind the other side, memorizing the pattern of her front door.
Luz smiles while sobbing and turns back around to the witch that made all of this possible. She gives Eda a big hug and sobs onto her shoulder "Thank you, Eda! Thank you so much!"
The Owl Lady smiles and kisses her human on the top of her head "Don't mention it kiddo. I'm just glad you were able to say a proper goodbye after all these years."
Luz and Eda finally walk through the portal, and end up back in the castle, late at night. They say their goodbyes and Luz walks back to her chambers. She opens the door, and she lays her eyes upon a sleeping Blight on her bed. Luz does her best to be quiet while she changes into her PJs and gets ready for bed.
While the human brushes her teeth a pair of arms wrap around the girl's waist and hug Luz tightly. "My mom told me why you left earlier. Are you ok?" Amity rested her head on Luz's shoulder as Luz finished putting away her toothbrush.
Luz smiled, looking at Amity through the mirror in front of her "I honestly feel great." Luz turns around and rests her head against her witch's head.
Amity giggles at the action and grabs Luz's hands, intertwining their fingers "That's good to hear." You could tell by the girl's voice she stayed conscious enough to hear when Luz returned. "You know I love you no matter what. I'm always going to be here for you if you want to ever talk about it."
"I know." Luz pulled her head away, making Amity pick hers up and meeting their eyes. The witch's golden eyes memorized Luz's brown eyes. Each girl took in every detail at that moment. Luz knew at this very moment, she couldn't wait a second longer. The beat of the sac in the throne room shook the castle, making it clear Luz was nervous. The human gripped onto the witch's hands like they were her lifeline and finally said it "Marry me."
Amity blinked a couple of times, processing the words that just came out of her human's mouth "What?" She whispered quietly, making sure she didn't just imagine Luz asking her to spend the rest of her life with her.
Luz giggled at the witch's dumfound look and summons a golden ring that matches the hue of the Blight's eyes. She holds it up, letting go of the girl's hands, and gets down on one knee on her bathroom floor, close to 2:00 am. "You are the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of it with you. Whether it's pranking you with your siblings, or just going on long walks through the forests talking about how it's unfair that there aren't enough romance books in the library because we read all of them together after we finished the Azura series for the fourth time." Amity laughs, tears now rolling down the witch's cheeks "I love you, Amity Blight. I love you more than life itself. I would give up my title as Emperess for you in a heartbeat if that's what you wanted. Because you mean more to me than all of that. I want to grow old with you and have kids with you. Because you are my light glyph." Luz is now wiping her tears away "Marry me, and make me the happiest human on the Boiling Isles."
Amity laughs through her tears of joy "You're the only human on the Boiling Isles dummy!"
"Exactly!"
Amity falls to her knees and kisses Luz with all the passion she has in the fibers of her bones. She cups both of her human's cheeks as she pulls away and smiles widely, showing both of her fangs "I will marry you Luz, Emperess of the Boiling Isles."
Luz and Amity connect foreheads once again, laughing with the flood of tears falling down both of their faces. Luz grabs the Blight's left hand and places the ring on her finger. They both stare at the ring for a moment, then go back to cupping each other's faces and laughing with all the joy in their hearts.
Luz finally is able to speak through all the happy sobs "Emperess Luz Blight! Has a ring to it, don't ya think!"
Amity rolls her eyes playfully and brings Luz in for another kiss. This time, with fire behind it. The kiss deepens and Amity ends up being carried by Luz bridal style to their shared bed. Luz lays her bride to be down with extreme care like she were the most fragile being in the realm. The human stares into her golden eyes, seeing the desire and love behind them, and connects their lips again, this time with no intention of holding back. The two girls stayed up late that night, loving every inch of each other, ready to be in each other's lives until the end.
*The End*
