Bella:
As Hazel advised, we did nothing but keep an eye on the management of the school.
After Noah's fake parents took him, we didn't hear a thing about him ever again. They didn't invite a single student to his burial, and although Hazel wanted to reach out, she couldn't because she feared the school would find out, since his parents were involved with the school.
"It's been three weeks, and I cannot believe they let him go like that," Hazel said, drawing me away from my
thoughts. "He was terrible, but he was a person, and he at least deserved friends. His parents are cruel, and if I could, I'd put them in jail," she said, and I sat up on my bed.
Then I walked over to hers, sitting close to her.
I patted her back gently.
"Well, at least the moon goddess will forgive him, because he was killed," I said to her, and she looked at me, forcing a smile onto her lips.
"Thank you, Bella."
I was about to speak when the door swung open and Ryder walked in.
"Have you ever heard of knocking?" I questioned, raising a brow.
He shut the door and walked up to us.
"Sometimes I keep forgetting that the room your mother gave you is practically useless, and I always go there," he said, sitting on my bed. "What happened with you?" he asked Hazel, and she shook her head, getting to her feet and walking to her closet.
The room was silent for a moment, then Ryder cleared his throat.
"Tests are over, and we are supposed to be happy, so what's happening?"
"She is sad about Noah," I said, and he mouthed an "oh."
"Maybe we should have done the memory wipe thing, then we wouldn't..."
He was about to finish when I shot him a deadly look with my brows wrinkled, causing him to shut his mouth. Hazel ignored him and went on to arrange her clothes in her closet.
"Well, I know something that might cheer you up, Hazel," he said, and I stared at him with my brows crumpled. "Chill out," he said to me, then he got to his feet, walking over to her.
"I'm not in the mood, Ryder," Hazel said, folding her shirt on a hanger.
"And we can go to Dusk Pack," he said, and I stared at him, trying to catch my jaw on the floor.
"What?" Hazel and I echoed.
"Yup. My mum is hosting us, and we do not have to take the road. She booked tickets for all of us."
I could barely contain my excitement when I heard this, because I had been dying to leave the Frost Pack. I couldn't imagine going back to the Alpha's house and living with two liars who would probably keep spying on me.
"Oh, my gosh!" I exclaimed, getting to my feet. "I need to pack!" My voice shot through the roof, and Ryder stood there with a smirk on his face.
Then I rushed to Hazel, who had been standing for about thirty seconds with one piece of clothing in hand.
"Do
you know what this means?" I asked, grabbing her hand.
"I can see Riley, and he doesn't have to come over here!" she squealed, throwing her arms around me.
We both jumped in excitement.
"Told you I could fix it," Ryder said, and I glanced at him from the side of my eyes.
"No, your mother fixed it. I could kiss her right now," I said as I pulled away from Hazel.
"Hey, how about me?" he asked, and I scrunched my face. "Well, we are already packing, so you have to be ready because we have to get to the airport in half an hour. The twins want to visit their grandmother, and her house is a bit far from my mom's," he said before leaving.
**
Shortly, we were done packing, and we moved our luggage out of the hostel with the other students who were leaving for home, too. When we got outside the building, we saw that the entire place was crowded with parents who came to take their children.
A man dressed in a black suit with glasses walked up to us.
"Mr. Ashcroft," he said to Ryder, giving a bow. "Right this way, sir."
We followed him towards the parking lot, where there were two cars waiting for us.
"Hazel and I will go together, and you three can do whatever you want," I said, grabbing Hazel's hand, while the twins glanced at Ryder in confusion, and he shrugged at them.
I got into the car with Hazel, and we took off at once. As soon as we left the gates of the school and it vanished from a distance, I sighed in relief, slumping into the chair.
"I'm sure we will have fun," Hazel said, reaching for my hands.
"Hopefully, and I hope we come up with a plan to deal with all this. Halle says we have a purpose, and she is right. We are special and smarter, so we have to beat them."
She nodded as I spoke, but suddenly we were mute, with the events of school still hovering over us.
Hazel sighed aloud.
"This is a vacation, so I am going to block these things out of my mind. I am going to text Riley for his address," she said, taking out her phone.
After a while, we arrived at the airport, and our luggage was moved to the plane waiting for us. As we made our way up the airstairs, Hazel called out to me, startling me and causing me to almost lose balance.
"He texted back!" she squealed as I grabbed the railings on the stairs for support, with my brows wrinkled.
"Of course, he did," I muttered, then I made it into the plane where the triplets were already waiting.
They saw my face wrinkled.
"You've been a fur ball of angry lately," Kai said, causing me to straighten my face as I made my way to sit down.
I sat on a long couch, and Finn left his seat to sit with me. He ran his hands across my forehead.
"The lines are still there," he said, and the others laughed while I hit his hand away from my face. Everyone settled in, and the plane took off...
