THIRD PERSON POV:

As soon as Hazel made it out of the office, her legs started to move. She rushed through the hallway at lightning speed, heading for the door. She knew she had to skip the remaining class because once she walked through those doors, it would be difficult to make it back into the building without a solid excuse.

She checked her bag to ensure she hadn't forgotten anything in her locker. Once she was certain, she headed for the door, making it out of the building.

Next, Hazel went straight to the dorm room, where she shut the door and locked it tightly. Then she pulled out the black book from her bag and tossed it on the bed. Climbing onto her bed, she opened the book, thinking it would solve her problem, but she plunged into further confusion as there were many languages she knew nothing about.

At that moment, she took out her spell book and placed it on the bed.

"Oh, great witches of the old, let me find what I seek."

As she said this, she felt that calm breeze once more, and the book flipped open to the correct page.

"I love being a witch!" she exclaimed as she looked at the inscriptions in the book.

She took out her phone as she read the alphabets in front of her. Then, grabbing a pen and notepad, she began translating what was written on the stone walls. After about an hour, she managed to get through it, letting out a sigh as she shut the book. With her notepad in hand, she read the message aloud, which essentially stated that once the vampire king attained immortality, everyone, including the hybrid whose blood was used to set him free, would die.

"Bella!" Hazel's eyes widened as she grabbed her phone and placed a call to Bella.

She could no longer pretend to be angry because her best friend's life was in danger. On the other end, Bella was startled to hear her phone vibrating. She hadn't expected anyone to call her, knowing her friends were mad. When she saw Hazel's name on display, she took a deep breath before answering the call.

"Did the vampires say anything to you about what will happen when Enzo attains immortality?" Hazel asked, and Bella's brows furrowed slightly.

Immortality? All she knew was that Enzo wanted to free his dead brothers so they could take over the entire world. No one had mentioned immortality to her.

"What the hell are you talking about? Is this some ploy to get me to come back?" Bella questioned, and Hazel hissed over the phone.

"Bella, drop the act. I'm not angry with you. I trust you, but you are in danger."

Bella's heart calmed a bit, knowing Hazel wasn't mad at her, but the realization that she was in trouble caused her pulse to spike.

"What happened?" she managed to ask. Hazel wasted no time explaining everything she had discovered.

"You need to get the hell out of there, Bella, because they are going to kill you."

Bella tried not to let Hazel's words get to her. She had no intention of leaving.

"Enzo already likes me, Hazel, and I don't think I can do much from here. You'll have to find another way without me. I'll be fine, and I'm sure that if it's my destiny to unite the packs, then I won't die until I've done that. Do you know how much I've survived?" she asked, and Hazel sighed, waiting for Bella to finish her rant.

"Lyra was killed two days ago by Enzo, who drained her blood for his youth."

Hazel's heart skipped a beat, and she swallowed hard. She knew Lyra-the girl she had bitten and Bella had saved. "But... but..."

"Yes, I saved her, Hazel, and I watched her die, but she seemed happy dying. She had a lot of untold trauma, and I think that was a good time for her to let it out." Bella let out a sigh.

"Please don't give up on me. I'm trying my best to find out how to awaken the hybrid king. I think he'll be able to guide me on this path. Plus, he isn't dead. He's immortal and has been asleep for centuries."

At this point, Hazel was too tired to keep arguing with Bella. She knew it would be futile.

"Don't involve Halle. At least not yet. And I'm happy you're on my side, Hazel. Really, I thought I lost you and had already been mourning our friendship."

"I will always be with you, Bella. I trust you, so please don't die, because I'll make sure I resurrect you and kill you a second time," she said, earning a chuckle from Bella.

"I'll try not to, but I'm not making any promises," Bella replied before ending the call and sliding her phone under the bed.

Bella lay there for a while, trying to stay positive, but even she had to admit that it was getting increasingly difficult. Hazel, on the other hand, wasn't about to put her full trust in Bella. She knew how Bella loved being the hero, always looking out for everyone but herself. Determined, Hazel decided to inform the triplets about what she had discovered.

After the call ended, she raced out of her room and headed to theirs. She knocked softly, but no one answered. Frustrated, she pulled out her phone and dialed.

"Some of us still go to school because we're actually trying to graduate," a voice said behind her.

She turned around to see Finn and Kai approaching, Finn's phone ringing in his hand. Hazel sighed, putting her phone away as they unlocked the door and entered the room. She followed, shutting the door behind her.

The guys didn't look eager to hear her out. They went about their business as though she wasn't there, taking off their shoes and preparing to relax.

"Hey, guys, I'm still here," she said, and they glanced briefly at her.

"We're listening, Haze. You're the one who hasn't said a word of this glorious news you carry," Kai said with an almost unbothered tone, making Hazel sigh as she stepped closer.

She began to speak. At first, they tried to act uninterested, but the more she explained and revealed how much danger Bella was in, their tough exteriors cracked.

"... And where the hell is Ryder?" Hazel asked mid-sentence, and the boys exchanged glances.

"Finn? Kai?" Hazel called, and they broke.

"You have to promise you won't tell Bella because we don't know which side you're on," Finn said, and Hazel frowned. "You don't trust me?" she asked, and the twins shook their heads.

"Oh, we trust you, just not with anything concerning Bella. You're emotionally bound to each other and would do anything to please her, even if it's the worst decision," Finn replied.

Hazel sunk down for a moment, knowing they were right.

Partially, she was the reason Bella was tangled in this mess. All she could do now was support her best friend.

"But you know she's right. If it's her destiny, then she won't die," Hazel muttered, earning death glares from the twins.

She raised her hands in surrender as Kai exhaled heavily.

"Ryder is meeting with his father today to let him know what's going on," Kai admitted.

Hazel's brows furrowed with disappointment. Bella would be livid knowing an adult had been brought into the mix. "Wh... why would you do that?" she asked, and they shrugged.

"Bella would be very-"

"Actually, Hazel," Finn cut in, locking eyes with her. "We don't bloody care what Bella wants. We are doing what we think is right."
