Third Person POV:
Herald's blood ran cold as he heard the request of the Beta of the Thorne pack. He didn't want to sign it, but he knew Bella had committed a huge offense. However, he didn't want to give in easily because he had been wrong about her in the past.
"What are you talking about?" Fred asked, and the Beta repeated his words.
"In the early hours of today, she arrived at the Alpha's house with Enzo Darkmoore. A servant caught her draining his blood, which makes her a hybrid," he said, and Fred glanced at Herald.
The two knew there was nothing they could do. If they hesitated, the matter would still escalate, and the Thorne pack might wage war.
"I believe you stand for law and justice as the King of all Kings," the Beta said again to Herald.
Herald's feet became glued to the ground, as though he no longer knew how to use them.
"Sign the papers," Fred said to him, and Herald moved slowly, walking up to the man.
He grabbed the paper and scribbled his signature slowly, silently praying to wake up from whatever nightmare he had gotten into. But as he put a full stop at the end of the signature, nothing changed. This is real, he told himself as he pulled away from the Beta.
"Now that is done, I am also here to stand in for the dead Alpha," the Beta said, clutching the paper in his hands. Herald was too stunned to speak, so Fred helped him to sit, while Beck stood up at once.
"Bella might be under the influence of Enzo, so before you attack her on sight, be sure to capture Enzo Darkmoore. This meeting was called to ask the pack leaders to surrender their best soldiers and witches for the operation. As of now, the Princess is under captivity, and that is what you must tell the members of the Thorne pack. If not, one pack against three doesn't seem favorable."
Both Fred and Herald glared at Beck's careless words. A war threat was the last thing they needed now, and if a war did start, it would only give the vampires an edge over them. They could wipe out the four packs in the twinkle of an eye.
"I am not here to condone war threats, Alpha Beck. I am only here to act on behalf of my dead Alpha, and I want to tell you that the people of the Thorne pack are displeased."
"Then maybe they should step up. How careless has he been that the vampires would camp in your pack, and none of you would have a clue?" Beck challenged. "How do we know you are not in an alliance with them and are suddenly pinning it on a poor teenager?"
The Beta glanced at them in confusion, as he had no clue what Beck was driving at.
"If you do not know what I am talking about, then let me drive it home. The territory of the vampires is hidden somewhere in the outskirts of the Thorne pack. This wouldn't have happened if your king was competent enough."
"Watch your words, Alpha Beck!" the Beta barked.
"And you should mind how you speak to an Alpha!" Fred shot back at once, causing the Beta to go silent.
He was scared of challenging the three alphas, but he was aggrieved. All they were saying sounded like nonsense to him because, deep down, he knew that once he set his eyes on Bella, he would cut her down. The servant had made no mistakes in the description, and he didn't want them to hide her under the guise of being an Alpha Princess. He had heard of Beta Williams and how he was murdered without hesitation, so why should it be different for Bella? He thought.
"I am sorry if I have said anything to annoy you, great Alphas," the Beta gave a bow. "The Thorne pack will deploy its finest soldiers and witches to your service as you wish," he added, then he stood straight.
"If you do not mind, I will take my leave now." With this, he turned away without uttering another word to the Alphas. The three Alphas knew they had to act quickly, or Bella would be toast. The entire Moon fire waging war on someone wasn't something pleasant.
While Alpha Fred was away, Hazel and the triplets were up to no good. They were locked up in a royal suite. It was supposed to serve as a prison for the royals, and it was basically large rooms with a comfortable bed and a guard by the door to look after the room.
Fred forbade Hazel from using her magic, so she didn't know what to do for days until today, when a servant brought food to her. She would use her magic, but not in a way Alpha Fred expected, and he wouldn't even know.
Hazel took a bite of the food, then she began to cough, slamming her chest hard. The servant rushed towards her. "Ma'am, are you okay?" she asked, and Hazel shook her head.
The lady came close to her, then Hazel spoke to her, causing her to fall to her feet. She began to snore loudly, and Hazel got up from the bed, then she walked to the door, opening it to see only one guard parading the hall. Quickly, she rushed back into the room, undressing the maid and wrapping her up with a blanket.
Then she walked out of the room.
"Help! Help! She is bleeding!" she yelled at the top of her voice, and the guard came rushing.
The moment he entered the room, she shut it from behind, locking it at once and sliding the key into the apron on the dress. The guard pounded hard on the door, but she didn't stop. She rushed down the hall, unlocking the room the triplets were put in.
"Hazel?" they called out at once, their faces wide with awe. They didn't expect her to be the first to burst out, and they had been trying to come up with a plan.
"Are you coming or not?" she asked, and they all got to their feet, making their way out of the room.
They heard the guard still banging, so Hazel flicked a finger, and he went mute.
"My father asked you not to use your magic. He'll-"
"Do not worry. It will wear off in an hour or less. Plus, he can still hear himself yell. It's just that no one else can hear him, so he wouldn't know what happened. As for the maid, she will think she fell asleep, so they are both lousy at their jobs," she shrugged. Then they found their way out of that part of the house.
Down the hall that led to the door, they could hear a lot of chatter, and they stopped the moment they heard Bella's name. It was two servants discussing in the kitchen, so the four of them pressed their ears against the door.
"A decree has been passed, and the Princess has been declared wanted," one guard said.
"I heard she murdered Alpha Trent of the Thorne pack."
The four of them glared at each other, and the triplets began to question their sanity and why they were trying so hard to help Bella while all she did was go about making messes.
"Come on, let's go," Hazel whispered, making her way towards the door, and the three hesitated for a moment before they followed her.
As they made their way out of the compound, they encountered a group of guards. Hazel didn't hesitate to use her powers on them, causing them to fall to their feet, unable to walk.
"What are you doing?" Kai yelled, but Hazel didn't look back.
"Exactly what you think I'm doing. I want to save my best friend because this madness has gone out of hand."
"You do know that if a decree was signed, that means it was Alpha Herald who signed it, right?" Finn asked as Hazel opened the door of his car.
"And when has the Alpha ever been right? He tried to sell Bella out to the vampires. I do not know what the hell is going on now, but you have to drive!" she said in a high-pitched tone.
The triplets had no choice but to get into the car, so they drove out of the premises. They hadn't gone far when Ryder's phone rang. It was his father.
"What the hell is wrong with you children? I do not have the time to run around for more than one child!" his voice blasted through the phone.
"Then maybe you should sit this one out, Father. If Bella believes in the prophecy, then I believe her too. I mean, I gave you a whole day to come up with a solution, and everything went south. I am going to save my mate. Goodbye, Father."
