Bella:
Just as Ryder had asked, I walked two blocks away and stood there, waiting. A sleek, black BMW zoomed past, almost throwing my skirt up in the air, but I grabbed the front, clasping it to my lap. The car parked in front of me, and the driver rolled his window down.
My face etched into a frown, and Ryder chuckled lowly.
"I'm sorry," he said, and I rolled my eyes, walking toward the car as he opened the door for me.
The car looked new and beautiful, but what did I expect from the alpha? They were stinking rich, but it was almost impossible for him to let Ryder off with just a car. Alpha Fred would rather get him a fleet of cars with drivers to move around the pack.
"My dad gave it to me during the weekend," he said, and I looked at him with my mouth ajar. "It is a gift from my mum, and I don't know why she bothers so much. I was going to forgive her, but I'm grateful, anyway." He added.
That was great because it showed she cared so much for him, but it didn't seem like that to him.
"It's beautiful!" I exclaimed, running my hands around the interior.
He grabbed my right hand, which was placed on the center storage box, then he kissed it.
"Not as beautiful as you," he said, causing me to look at him with a smile I tried to hide.
"I refuse to be smitten by you," I replied, withdrawing my hand with the smile on my cheek still rising as though something heavy was placed on my cheek.
He turned on the ignition again, then he grabbed my face, cupped my jaw in his left hand, bringing it to his face. He pressed his lips onto mine, giving me a gentle nibble on my lips.
"I wish I could do that every day," he sighed. "But then, being selfish for a while might be my favorite thing at the moment." He added, intertwining our fingers with his right hand grasping the wheel.
This felt safe, unlike before, and even though I feared what would happen, I liked this part of him. I glared at him for a while as the car wheeled into the road, before I sat back in the chair, caressing his hands gently.
"Where are you taking me, fine sir?" I teased, glancing at him to see the corner of his lips raised.
"You'll see," he replied, lifting my hand to his lips again while trying to keep his eyes on the road.
He turned on the music player, and my phone beeped at once, showing a message from Hazel.
"Where are you? We should have started studying an hour ago."
Seeing this message made a feeling of guilt slide through my mind, but I couldn't leave because I didn't have a clue where Ryder was taking me since he had left the major town.
"Is there a problem?" He asked, and I slid my phone into my bag at once, shaking my head.
"No... I..." I turned up the music when I couldn't come up with a lie, singing at the top of my voice while he tapped his hands gently on the steering.
That did the trick.
We drove for a while until he came to a halt in front of a huge mountain.
"Wow!" I exclaimed, and he glanced at me with a smile on his lips.
"This is my favorite place in the pack, and you can watch the entire Frost pack from here," he said, then he wheeled into the path that led to the top of the mountain. "I was here the night I had a fight with my dad, and although it was cold, I slept with thoughts of you in mind."
I gave off a low chuckle when he said this, and he kissed my hand again. After that, we were silent until we reached the top of the mountain.
"Here it is," he announced, stopping the car. Then he opened his door, rushed over to mine, and opened it up, taking my hand in his.
In a swift motion, he put his hands over my eyes, grabbing my hand, and walked me toward the edge. Then he took his hands off, allowing me to take in the view of the city.
My jaw dropped as I stood in awe. Everything looked tiny, and we stood like gods, watching over the entire world.
"The moon goddess gets to enjoy something like this? I'm jealous, for real," I said, and he let out a short laugh. Then we stood there for a while before I sat on the soft grass, crossing my legs.
"The view is even greater at night. You should see how beautiful the city is sometime." "I'll think of that, maybe when we are done with our little game of hide and seek," I replied, keeping my gaze straight as I avoided meeting his eyes.
"That is totally up to you, and you know that," he said, and I sighed.
"As if you would find it easy to come clean with your friends that you claimed their mate in secret," I scoffed, and he shrugged.
"You are my mate too, so I just did it before them, and I'm sure they'll get over it." He said, laying down on the grass.
I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest. I refused to look at him because I could see him staring at me from the corner of my eyes.
"Come here."
He pulled me by my waist, causing me to land on his chest with my hands. Then he looked into my eyes.
"I would give anything for the twins to forfeit you," he said, and I hissed.
"Do not flatter me, Ryder, because I won't fall for your tricks," I said, and he grabbed my hand, wrapping it around his neck, while his hands slid around my waist, pulling me closer until our bodies were glued together.
"I wish it were a joke, then it wouldn't hurt so much, having to sneak around to make love to the girl I love," he said. Then he kissed my cheek, placing my head on his chest while he dug his right hand into my hair, caressing it softly.
Suddenly, my eyes shut slowly, and I felt myself drifting off to sleep, clasping tightly around his body until my lips met his neck. I kissed it softly, running my hands on his chin, down to his lips. As my hand rested on his lips, he pouted a bit, and then I opened my eyes to see that the sky had changed.
"It seems like it will..."
Before I could finish my sentence, I felt a drop of water on my body, which suddenly turned into more, and then into full-blown rain. Ryder jumped up at once, grabbing my hand, then he rushed toward the car. He opened the back seat and pushed me toward it, then he got in beside me.
"Looks like you'll see the view after all," he said as he shut the door, and I looked at him with a smile on my face.
"I guess I will," I said, pulling him by his tie to my face, mashing our lips together. This was what I had longed to do for a while.
