Rescue, The Revealed Truth (5)
The figure of one person had already disappeared without a single trace at allâwithout a single moment to escape in the face of a great unknown force.
âUghâ¦â
The men who had seen the terrible scene unfolded right in front of them couldnât easily attack the said man. Even their boss was unable to as well.
He clenched his fist and spread it out before he started scraping his feet against the ground.
Beads of sweat flowed down the ground through the clenched fist. As such, leaving oneâs trail was already deemed as a mistake that should never be made as an assassin. Nevertheless, the man couldnât control his body just as he wanted.
âWho the hell are you? Are you a man from Seroif?â
The man eventually repressed his fear and barely spoke out. However, the particular man fixed his eyes elsewhere insteadâas if he had not even heard the assassinâs question.
It was towards Roelin, to where she had fallen.
ââ¦â¦Roelin.â
A voice that seemed to have surged up from deep in the manâs throat rang out low. Then, Roelin, who had her eyes half closed, shook her eyelids and opened her eyes a little bigger in return.
âKeâ¦â
Roelin tried to call out to the manâs name with her lips all clenched. But her blue eyes quickly lost their focus before they eventually hid under her eyelids.
Her physical condition was already too serious to hold out any longer.
âRoelin!â
Kergel, the man who had seen that Roelin was losing her consciousness, rushed up to her. On the other hand, all the men stepped back regardless of their will and opened up a path.
âRoelin! Wake up! Iâm here. Iâ¦â¦â
He opened his mouth while hugging Roelinâs back. But she still didnât wake up as she just went limp in his arms.
Kergelâs eyes were filled with blood as soon as he saw that. Even in the dark, Roelinâs wrecked face clearly came into his eyes.
âRoâ¦â
âNowâs the time! Everybody, attack!â
Just as Kergel was about to contort his face and call out Roelinâs name over and over again, people began pouring in from all sorts of directions.
The men, whose pride were all hurt by the fact that they had been unconsciously crushed by his momentum, launched an immediate attack to make up for it.
It was nearly impossible to find a gap in their attack as if they were going to cram in everything solely on this one attack.
A joyful smile slowly spread around the mouth of their leader. He had no doubt that the bodies of those two people who were being attacked would soon be torn to shreds.
Furthermore, he was the one who had been asked by the Royal Family of Rakain to remove the Empress of Seroif. Therefore, there was nothing else to be desired for if she were to die here and now.
Of course, it was a tad little sad to kill off this monster without knowing who it had truly been, butâ¦â¦
âAghhh!â
âKeuouk!â
At that moment, a terrifying force exploded out from Kergel. On top of that, himself and his men who were all rushing towards Roelin instantly screamed out before they began to get tossed in the air.
No, it would be more accurate to say that it was the debris, which had previously been the body of those men, that flew in the air.
Slurp.
Blood and flesh continued pouring down just like rain. And a trail of crimson blood also began to trickle down his face since it had spilled over Kergelâs head.
Still, Roelin, who was in his arms, had been the only exception. As if there was a transparent membrane surrounding all over her, the pouring blood and debris of those bodies did not invade Roelin at all.
Even in that state, Kergel proceeded to rise slowly while holding the back of Roelinâs knee carefully.
It was just then, as if dozens of horses were galloping away, the clop of horsesâ hoofs could be heard and the ground trembled in return.
And shortly thereafter, Gilovâs voice soon followed.
âYour Majesty!â
In addition, there was the sound of a tracking team that had been looking for him as well, including Duke Bönt himself. Perhaps the Duke and Gilov had met before they soon followed his tracks together.
âYour Majesty! The Empress is safeâ¦â¦ whoo!â
Gilov eventually found Kergel and hurried down the horse. However, he soon had no other choice but to close his mouth by inhaling at the sight of Kergel who was now looking back at him.
ââ¦â¦!â
Duke Bönt also began to approach from Gilovâs back and saw Kergel before he paused for a moment.
Not only that, the knights and soldiers who were led by the Duke had all been shocked to see Kergel as well. No, their surprise was even greater than that of Gilov and the Duke of Bönt.
How could it not be so since their Master appeared similarly more like a âMonsterâ rather than a human?
In spite of that, only the Imperial Knightsâ Commander or the Duke, who had been well aware of the blood of the âWerewolvesâ that flowed through the bodies of the Imperial Family line, could immediately recover from their own surprising emotions.
âI have been utterly late, Your Majesty. Iâve failed to protect the Empress, so please punish me for that sin.â
The Duke of Bönt was the first who spoke out to clear up the chaotic atmosphere. Then, Kergel just looked at him and frowned instead.
âI think that you should be the one getting treatment first, Duke. Itâs amazing to see how you actually got here like that.â
âOh, Iâm fineâ¦â¦â
Besides, it was not a matter of blaming anyone for this case and punishing them in return. If that was truly the case, shouldnât he be punished at once? He was an incompetent guy who couldnât even protect his own partner.
