Tea Party and Lorschel (7)
In fact, when he came out of the office, his mind was already firm.
This was because he just couldnât stand still as he was reminded of Roelin, who would be in trouble alone at the tea party that was full of women from the Duchy.
So, he was going to do something to cheer for her even if they hadnât been meanâ¦â¦
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â
Roelin asked with a smile as she felt embarrassed by Kergelâs gaze while sitting right next to her and staring at her.
âItâs just that youâre much more amazing than I thought. I think that you have the temperament of a fighter.â
When he was asked by Roelin, Kergel instantly brought out what he had in mind. Then, Roelin opened her eyes wide as if he was talking about someone else instead.
But Kergel just smiled and didnât add anything else. Roelin blinked her round eyes and eventually asked as if she had thought of something belated.
âDid you see it all?â
âI didnât really see everything. I think that Iâve only watched it from the middle.â
Kergel responded naturally to Roelinâs words. Roelin smiled at the words and straight away wrapped her hands around her cheeks. The warmth of her cheeks that heated the palm of her hands was conveyed completely.
It was embarrassing to think that he had seen what happened at the tea party. She fanned her hand to cool off the heat on her cheeks that couldnât be cooled easily.
Kergel giggled like a naughty boy at the sight and slowly reached out. Then, he said in a low voice while hugging her shoulder.
âDonât be embarrassed, Roelin. Because it was really cool.â
âDonât say that. Itâll become more embarrassing.â
Roelin shook her half-hugged body. But Kergel kept on holding her tightly as he grabbed Roelinâs chin while facing it towards him before he finally opened his mouth once again.
âIt was awesome. It was very nice to see that you had a platform. In fact, thatâs why I had no choice but to only watch. Youâre already doing well on your own, so it would be kind of weird if I were to barge in all of a sudden, right?â
ââ¦â¦â
Roelin looked at Kergel silently before she turned her head with an awkward expression and murmured very quietly.
âThank you for your consideration.â
âThatâs not really something to say your thanks for.â
Kergel replied in an awkward tone as he stretched out his hand that had been hugging Roelinâs shoulder and then, he bent again slightly.
ââ¦â¦this is crazy.â
Kergel heaved a sigh while moving his hand as if a child was fidgeting with his finger.
The warm and soft food was already presented right in front of him and he felt like he still had to endure it.
Wasnât she trusting him too much? No, if she was even a little conscious of him as a man, could she even do this?
Kergel looked downwards at Roelinâs little head which seemed so comfortable in his arms that made him sigh repeatedly.
âIâm going to eat you up.â
He murmured to himself like that. And Roelin, who never noticed Kergelâs intentions, stayed still for a while and suddenly opened her mouth as if she had remembered something
âRight! Do you know what âLorschelâs Nightâ is? Last time, I read a book related to the history of customs in the library, but that was the only one of the old dead customs without any detailed explanation.â
âHuh? Lorschelâs Night?â
Kergel blinked while questioning Roelinâs inquiry. Then, Roelin tilted her head with a slightly disappointed look.
âYou donât really know? Oh, well, it was simply recorded in the book that there had been a custom like that back in the past.â
Roelin nodded as if she had finally convinced herself. But Kergel didnât want to leave it that way. At least, in front of the woman he loved, it was a manâs heart to know everything and show off his good performance.
âAh, Lorschelâs Nightâ¦â¦ I mean, itâs⦠I mean, what was it again?â
What was it? What was it really? Kergel wanted to find out what she had just asked, even if he had to go through his whole head. However, no matter how much he searched through his mind, he just couldnât remember anything about âLorschelâs Nightâ at all.
It ultimately meant that it wasnât stored in any of his memories in the first place. Even so, he could still remember everything even if it was with just a single touch.
âYou donât have to force yourself to think of something that you canât remember. Instead, you can ask someone else later. Lucy, orâ¦â¦ Oh! You can just ask Lord Bashel. I think he might know of it.â
Roelin dissuaded Kergel as she watched him groan while trying to remember. But her very own words had touched upon Kergelâs pride.
ââ¦â¦â¦youâre going to ask Heinez?â
Kergel tried to query as if nothing really happened. But one of his eyebrows had already gone up unruly instead.
âYes, Lord Bashel has a wide range of knowledge. Even if you donât, Iâll be having a class with Lord Bashel later, so I can simply ask him then.â
Roelin answered Kergelâs question with a nod. For her part, she just told the truth without thinking too much. But from a listenerâs point of view, the problem was the fact that it hadnât been just that.
âAhâ¦â¦ that would be a bit problematic.â
Kergel threw his words in a nonchalant tone while holding back his bubbling feelings inside.
âHeinez requested me to tell you that he couldnât attend todayâs class, but I forgot.â
âHe doesnât think that heâll be able to teach me today?â
Roelin opened her eyes wide and asked in return. She had never heard of it. There was no such remark in the last class and they even talked a little about the protocol that they would be learning in todayâs class too.
However, he suddenly didnât think that he could take on the class for today?
