Chapter 77.2 â Drunken Prince Consort
The saying went that there was no such thing as a nice banquet, and this one really made Qi Yang very unhappy.
During the banquet, everyone first asked her for info about the Emperorâs birthday ceremony, and after failing there, they continued by asking about the Crown Prince. Qi Yang said that she didnât know, but then many people came to ask her for a toast.
Qi Yang didnât want to drink, so she retreated with a few words, but the kings and the other prince consorts turned to Lu Qipei for a toast. The latter couldnât refuse so bluntly, and had to have a few drinks.
The wine cups prepared for the banquet were not small like ordinary wine cups. One cup could be worth four to five ordinary wine cups. Qi Yang was kept busy by Nanping for just a short while, and when she looked back, Lu Qipeiâs face was already pale and blushing after drinking three to four cups of wine.
When she saw this, Qi Yang inexplicable felt a little angry. She was couldnât be bothered arguing with the others and said, âMy prince consort is drunk, I will take her to sober up.â Then, she took Lu Qipei and left the banquet.
Lu Qipei really was a little drunk. When Qi Yang pulled her away, her feet were staggering a little. In fact, her drinking capacity had greatly improved compared to three years ago. The reason was because the princess had been âtrainingâ her alcohol tolerance. When you keep getting drunk, your drinking capacity would naturally increase.
The two quickly left the place of song and dance. Lu Qipei grabbed Qi Yang and told her, âAh Ning, donât walk so fast. I canât keep up with you, Iâm feeling a bit dizzy.â
Qi Yang stopped when she heard this. When she looked back, she saw that Lu Qipeiâs jade cheeks were flushed, and her usually clear eyes were blurry. She knew that the latter was still a bit drunk, so she turned to hold her and said with dissatisfaction, âWhat were you doing with those people?â
Lu Qipei just laughed. After all, when youâre in society, when could you ever just do whatever you really wanted?
Itâs not that Qi Yang didnât understand, she just cared about Lu Qipei too much.
The two walked for a while, then Qi Yang looked back and asked her, âAre you very drunk today?â
Lu Qipei gave her a wink and said, âWhat do you think, Your Highness?â
Qi Yang had made Lu Qipei become drunk a lot in the past three years, and no one knew the states of her drunkenness better than Qi Yang. The princess stared at Lu Qipei for a while after she heard this, then she suddenly murmured, âPrince Consortâs alcohol tolerance is getting better and better.â
Lu Qipei arced her eyebrows and laughed softly, giving off a crisp sound that went straight at her heartstrings.
Qi Yang saw that she had been slightly drunk before, but now she felt that Lu Qipei was drunk again. She helped her stop next to a clean boulder and said, âJust sit here and rest for a while. Let the wind help you sober up, I think youâre still drunk.â
Lu Qipei didnât argue and responded obediently. She sat down on the boulder, and looked up at Qi Yang not long after. Then, she reached out her hand and pulled Qi Yang into her arms, making the latter sit on her lap.
Her slender but powerful arms wrapped around Qi Yangâs slender waist, and her slightly hot cheek pressed against her neck. She occasionally rubbed it against her, so intimate that it would make people blush.
It seemed that the drinkâs aftereffect was still there; Lu Qipei was still drunk.
Qi Yang had always been bold, but who knew what a drunk would do when in public. Because of that, she was feeling rarely embarrassed. She glanced slightly and saw that the accompanying servants had already cleverly looked away, and even helped them ward off passersby.
This made Qi Yang sigh in relief. When she felt the head rubbing against her neck again, she pushed it away a little helplessly and told her, âAh Pei, youâre drunk. Why donât we go back home?â
Lu Qipei tightened her arm around Qi Yangâs waist, but her voice was clear, âI donât want to go back. I want to feel the wind to sober up.â
Qi Yang was amused when she heard those words, and felt that they were in a pretty embarrassing state, so she asked her again, âWhy donât you release me?â
Lu Qipei didnât say anything. She only replied by tightening her arm, almost strangling Qi Yang out of breath. Finally, Qi Yang pushed her arm away telling her to let go, but the prince consort who lost the princess in her arms looked extremely aggrieved, and turned her gaze to the sky without looking at Qi Yang.
Qi Yang really felt that her drunk prince consort was really interesting; her reaction would be different everytime. She wasnât afraid that the latter was really angry, so after leaving Lu Qipeiâs arm, she simply sat on the boulder as well and squeezed together with her.
Then, in just the next moment, a hand was secretly wrapped on her waist again, as if she was afraid that she would run or push her away.
With a smile forming on her lips, Qi Yang looked back at her prince consort, who was still looking at the sky pretending that nothing had happened.
Qi Yang knew that Lu Qipei was obviously waiting for her to coax the latter, but she didnât want to do it today. She just held back the smile on her lips and looked up at the sky by Lu Qipeiâs side.
She saw the clear blue sky above her head, dotted with white clouds and a lot of small and large objects underneath. On closer look, they seemed to be kites.
Qi Yang was just casually looking up at the kites, but she ended up a little lost while watching them. She had also played with kites when she was young, and they were made by her Mother Consort herself. Unfortunately, it flew away, and her Mother Consort died of illness not long after. Since then, she had not flown kites again.
Just as she was lost in thought, someone hooked the fingers on Qi Yangâs knee. She subconsciously looked back, and saw Lu Qipei frowning, saying to her, âDonât look at them. I can make those too. Why donâtâ I make them next time and give it to Ah Ning?â
Qi Yang looked at her for a moment, then finally couldnât help but laugh seeing the seriousness and stubbornness on her eyes.
This drunken prince consort was really cute. She was even jealous at kites!
Author notes:
Lu Qipei (overbearingly): The princess cannot take her eyes off me, not even for a moment!
Qi Yang (touching her head): Good girl, Iâll always look at you when you act spoiled.
Lu Qipei (hesitating): â¦meow?
