Chapter 15: Wishes

The MatchMaker (YEONGYU FF)Words: 12373

Beomgyu sat at his bed, Looking at the wrist of his hand with intense eyes. He still didn't understand. It's been two days, and the initials haven't even faded a bit.

He didn't tell Soona and had been hiding it with a jacket.

What happened that day?

"The camping trip is next week!" Yena yells, walking inside Soona's bedroom.

"Yay!." Soona sits up with her arms in the air.

"You're going to be in my tent, right?" She eyes Soona.

"Of course! Hey, I need your help. Yeonjun and Beomgyu aren't talking as much. We need to rekindle the friendship." Soona pulls her down to her level.

"Okay, I'll send a group text now!" Yena takes her phone out.

"Wait! What type?!" Soona stands up, trying to look.

"Check it!" Yena says after pressing 'send.'

"What's your plan?" Soona asks.

"I'll discuss it when they arrive here; just watch."  She smirked.

"What is this meeting for?" Yeonjun asks, sitting down at the table.

"The camping trip, of course! Now listen, It has been brought to my attention Beomgyu isn't staying with Yeonjun." Yena says, looking at the two.

"That's right. He's staying with Taehyun." Soona adds.

"Now, Soona and I are staying together. Yeonjun's tent happens to be two spots over from ours. We need our friends to protect us; what if a bear does to eat us?! " Yena exclaims.

"But I promised-"

"You want a beer to eat poor me and Soona. Your friends?" Yena fake cries.

"I-I'll stay with Yeonjun the; just don't cry." Beomgyu gives in. Yena flashes a smile at me when they're not looking.

"Thank you; Your friends are thankful for your kindness. We must stick together. We have to discuss now the activists."

"What activities are there?" Beomgyu asks.

"Glad you asked! A treasure hunt, a haunted woods, and even a private hot tub that not even teachers know of."

"Hot tub? In the woods?" Soona Laughed.

"It's true! I even have the map to it!" She held up the paper.

"What is the price of the treasure hunt?" Yeonjun asks.

"The price is unknown, but the rumors say it's a $1000 gift certificate to any restaurant your choice."

"Any?!" Soona Beomgyu and Yeonjun yelled out.

"Yes, any! If any of us win, we should treat everyone, of course!" They all nod in agreement.

"What about the haunted trail?" Soona asks.

"That is the fun part! A haunted trail in the woods. The first ones to finish get a $100 gift card." Yena was acting like an advertisement person.

"Can we do groups?" Yeonjun asks.

"We can do two people per group, but often they will be split up during running from the scary creatures. We have to stick together!" She balls her first up.

"Let's not win all prizes, and it's unfair to others, right? Let's try to treasure hunt!" Beomgyu exclaimed.

"$1000 in food does sound appealing." Yeonjun rubs his stomach.

"Did you pack everything?" Soona asks Yena.

"Sure did; we have to leave now. They said to meet at 8:00 AM." Yena slings the bag over her shoulder.

"Hey guys, you ready?" Yena slings an arm around Yeonjun.

"I'm ready to win the prize," Yeonjun says with determination.

"We all are," Soona adds.

"Class, We'll take role before boarding the bus; everyone stays here until your name has been called!" The teacher says, holding a list of names on her clipboard.

"Choi Beomgyu."

"Here!"

"Choi Yeonjun!"

"I'm here."

"Kang Taehyun!"

"Here!"

"Park Soona!"

"Here!" Soona raises her hand.

"Jeon Yena!"

"Here!"

They all boarded the bus now. Beomgyu was sitting by himself. Yeonjun was seated across from him.

Soona decided to sit next to Beomgyu, but Taehyun came out of nowhere, sitting down instead.

Soona turns toward Yeonjun and sits down beside him. Yena looks at them all before sitting down in the seat in front of Soona and Yeonjun.

"What was that?" She thought inside her thoughts, and she decided to keep an eye on him.

"Please remain seated until we arrive in two hours. If you need to use the restroom, raise your hand now." The teacher spoke from the front of the bus.

"You have a cut here." Yeonjun noticed a small cut on Soona near her watch.

His fingers go toward it and accidentally touched the watch; a small eclectic shot was emitted to Yeonjun, making him pull back.

"What is this?" He stammered, looking confused.

"Sorry, My watch has a shortage." Soona clamps her hand around the watch.

She takes it off her wrist and zips it up in her backpack pouch, and she figured it would be better not to have it on.

Beomgyu sees this and remembers his wrist, and his fingers lightly grazed the skin.

He was still confused about that moment. It never really left him mindfully.

"Do you want to do the treasure hunt together?" Taehyun asks beside Beomgyu.

"Oh, I already agreed to do it with my friends, sorry." Beomgyu apologized.

"That's fine!" Taehyun smiles.

'What is going on with this guy?' Yena thinks you herself, examining his behaviors. She didn't have a good feeling about him.

"Coke?" Yeonjun takes a coke out of his backpack handing it to Soona.

"Thank you." She twists the cap open.

"Soona, Can I have some?" Beomgyu says from the seat across.

"Sure." She twists the cap on again and leans across Yeonjun, trying to hand it to Beomgyu.

Yeonjun sighs and takes the coke handing it across without looking at him.

Beomgyu opens the cap to the drink and goes to drink it with his mouth, but Taehyun starts to cough, then grabs it instead and pours it into his mouth.

Yena looks at him with her mouth agape, Soona as well.

'Did he drink my coke?' Soona thinks to herself in pure disbelief.

Even Yeonjun was looking dumbfounded at this point.

"Sorry, I was coughing badly." Taehyun apologizes and hands the empty bottle back to Yeonjun.

Yeonjun snatches it away and places it inside his bookbag.

"That's fine," Beomgyu says.

"What was that?" Soona whispered toward Yeonjun.

"He didn't want him drinking your drink," Yeonjun whispered back; Beomgyu was eyeing them.

"Here, you can have this." Taehyun handed Beomgyu a juice from his bookbag.

"Thank you." Beomgyu thanks him but only taking his eyes off Yeonjun for a second.

"Class, we have arrived; please bring all your belongings." The teacher spoke.

"Huh? Where's my watch?" Soona looks through her bookbag.

"Where did you put it?"Yena asks.

"I had it inside the pocket, here."

"Did It fall out?" Yeonjun suggested.

"I think I would have heard it." Soona was panicking.

She lost her watch; she couldn't let anyone have it.

"Excuse me, and I lost my watch. Have you seen one?" She asks the teacher.

"Class, has anyone seen a watch?" The teacher asks.

Everyone replies with a "no."

"If you see one, please turn it into me; now, let's all go to our assigned spots and set the tent up. "

"It disappeared?"  Yena asks Soona while setting the tent up.

"I swear I put it inside here.." Soona scratches her head.

"Check the other parts."

Soona rummages through her bookbag, and all compartments got find nothing.

"Nothing at all.." Soona says, sighing.

"It'll find its way back. They always do." Yena reassured the worrying girl.

"I'll search for it too," Beomgyu says.

"Thank you, guys," Soona says.

"Guys, the treasure hunt will be in an hour. Be prepared. The maps are on the board for you to take. Remember two people per group!"

"This map looks confusing. There are three paths with many breaches off." Yena holds it up.

"I think I take path 2!" I pointed to the paper.

"The blue one? I have a good feeling too.."

"We're taking path 3," Beomgyu says.

"Really? We'll see who reaches it first." Soona laughed.

"We have two chances to win this; we can't lose, guys. Come on." Yena cried out.

"If We win, I'm buying lots of fried chicken and coke," Beomgyu says, fantasizing about the food he wants to buy.

"I want to buy steak," Yeonjun added.

"What path are you guys taking?" Taehyun comes walking up toward us.

"I'm taking Path 3," Beomgyu answers him.

"Me too, Let's work hard." He smiles.

Are they even taking the same path? I hope they don't bother Yeonjun.

"Alright, class time starts now; you have one hour to find the treasure. Think wisely! If you get lost, follow the red marks on trees."

"Let's go. I'm anxious!" Yena grabs my arm, pulling me along the path.

"Why didn't you pick him as your partner?" Yeonjun asks Beomgyu.

"Taehyun? Oh, Yena asked me to only chose our group."

Yeonjun slightly frowned; he wished he would choose him anytime over that red-haired devil guy.

"Let's take this way." Yeonjun turns to the right; he was partially doing it to go away from Taehyun.

"Should we go right or left or straight?" Taehyun asked Kai.

"Let's go left." Taehyun looked over at Beomgyu before walking left with Kai.

'What a weird guy, Yeonjun thought to himself.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu kept walking the path together, making small talk along the way.

Meanwhile, Soona and Yena were making good progress.

"Don't go that way; the light is facing this way. It's a sign!" Soona points to the sun.

"Ok, then let's go left!" Yena says, stumbling along.

"Do you think they're having a good time?"

"I think so; maybe they'll get closer," Yena says, smiling warmly. She wanted them to get closer; it's like watching a drama of your dreams.

"I hope they're fine; I hope that guy isn't making trouble."

YN: "I have a good feeling he's not."

"Can you call my watch?"

YN: "Isn't that dangerous? what if, however, has it sees it?"

"Just do it; it can be anywhere!" Soona cries.

"Okay! I'll do it now. Make sure no one is coming." Yena opened her watch and closed her eyes.

She was connecting her watch to Soona's.

The watch successfully connected to Soona's, and she pressed the teleport button; the eye appears in front of them; Soona grabs it putting it back on.

"Whoever has it is surely shocked now." Yena laughed.

"Let's hope they forget." Soona rubs it off.

"Did you lose something?" Kai asks, looking at Taehyun, who was frantically looking in his pockets.

"I lost my watch." He was feeling around for it.

"I didn't see you with one earlier." Kai looks confused.

"Ah, it's nothing. Let's just go."

"Watch out!" Yeonjun yelled toward Beomgyu who's foot got caught on a tree root; Beomgyu face planted the ground.

"Are you okay?" Yeonjun rushes to his side.

"I'm fine," Beomgyu says, lifting his head. The dirt was on his face.

Yeonjun grabs Beomgyu's hand and helps him stand up on his feet. Beomgyu brushes the dirt off his shirt and jeans.

"Your face is dirty." Yeonjun takes his jacket sleeve and wipes his face off.  Beomgyu's eyes trailed from his sleeve toward his face.

"It's on your nose too here." Yeonjun brings his face closer and takes his hand to brush his nose off carefully.

"T-Thank you," Beomgyu says with red ears.

"Can you walk?"

"I can walk." Beomgyu moves the hair out of his eyes.

"Soona?" Yena asks beside me; My knee felt painful all of a sudden.

"My knee hurts bad." I clasped my hand over it.

"Let's take a two-minute break." Yena stands against the tree.

"Did you twist your leg?" Yena asks.

"No, I don't think so.." I rubbed it.

"We only have two paths left; We should split up so we can have double chances," I suggested.

"You sure?"

"I'm sure we have our watches now. We can easily communicate." I hold my wrist up.

"Sure, I'll take a left then right. I'll be waiting for you." She walks off.

I watched as a bunny hopped toward me; it rubbed its face with its paws before staring at me.

Animals always are attracted toward me since I'm not exactly a true human soul.

"What?" I say audibly.

The bunny slowly hops away and turns back to look at me. It wanted me to follow it.

"Okay fine." I sighed, walking toward it.

I kept following it till I was led to a small ravine surrounded by the trees; the water was clear looking along with many bloom flowers.

Colors of red, yellow, and blue filled my eyesight; my eyes lit up in awe.

"Thank you." I thanked the bunny who sat staring at me.

I slowly bent down to put my hand in the water, the light of a blue color started surrounding my hand.

This had to be a spiritual ravine; it's for spirits of nonhumans; it's used to rehabilitate and cultivate your powers.

I rolled up the legs of my pants to reveal my knee that was hurting; I took my shoes off along with my socks. I decided to get into the water to my knee level, hoping my knee would stop hurting.

The water surrounded the area of pain around my knee with the familiar green light. The pain is starting to become vaguer.

I closed my eyes, taking in the fresh air and smell of the flowers. It was so peaceful here, peaceful until it was interrupted...
