Indiah got home about two hours after Amariah left. Mom was still here, she finishes early on Friday's and usually cooks for us.

My sister sets her bags down before collapsing back onto the couch besides me, "What took so long"
"I went shopping with Blair-...she sits up suddenly... oh my gosh you know they reopened that Trinidadian food shop near the mall. Let's go next week"
I shrug, "Yeah I'm down"
As much as I don't want details about her outing with Kaian, I need to know he's not playing around.
"How was lunch with Kai"
Indiah leans on her hand as she recalls her day, "It was good, we went to Nobu and then we went for a walk before I met up with Blair"
"You're serious bout him?"
"We're taking it slow if that's what you mean, but I like the direction it's going in. And you don't need to worry about me because I'm good, I promise" She replies softly
"Hm. Ok" I eventually reply
"Awww you care about me", My sister teases
"Shut up"
She laughs, "You know you do. And don't worry I know bout all that sulking you were doing, you can have your best friend all day tomorrow"
Nah, now Kai can be on the receiving end of getting dropped for the day.
"Actually I want us to go to that store tomorrow instead, then we can go see Malik after"
Indiah smiles, "Yeah ok we can do that"
She then pulls on one of my plaits, "I know you was stressing out Ree today. You should be paying her for every-time she does your damn hair cause you got a lot"
"Don't worry about how I'm paying her"
Ree doesn't even want money from me, she appreciates thank you's in cuddles and kisses.
"Ohhh so you pay her back by going down on her", Indiah says amused
"Mind your business weirdo"
She raises her hands with surrender, "Just saying, you owe me fifty dollars cause you always used to say you'd never be a bocat but now look where we are"
"She's different. She can have anything she wants-
"Foods ready!", Mom calls out from the kitchen
Thank God.
When we got there she was leaning against the island using her phone, it smells good in here.
"Hi ma", Indiah greets
"Hey", She then looks at me as I add more to my plate
"Don't be greedy, leave some for your dad"
I wave her off, "Yeah yeah"
"Did you go to the vets today?" Mom asks Indiah
"Nah"
"Why?"
"I went shopping with B"
She frowns whilst resting a hand on her hip, "You didn't tell me that"
"I told daddy"
She decides to let that one go.
"Has that boy tried speaking to you since?"
Even I frown
"What?", Indiah says confused
"The white boy, Archie"
"Uhhh yeah, I guess"
"You're not considering taking him back are you-
"What? Ma, no" She says annoyed
"That's good"
"Ok I'm gonna be the one to say it. Why are you being very strange and nosy today? You don't do this" I question
Our mother folds her arms, "Well we don't spend enough time together as a family and I feel as if I don't know my babies at all"
"Hmm, I wonder why", My sister pretends to think
"I'm serious. It just doesn't make sense that you tell your dad more things and he's here even less than I am. I mean what the hell does he know about dating?"
"Well he managed to stay married for more then ten years so he must've done something right", I defend
"Mmm but is it really a successful marriage?-
"Indiah", She says with irritation
Dee shrugs, "Just saying"
Yeesh
"That's enough. My point is that you're supposed to come to me about this stuff instead of him"
I'd rather talk to pops about relationships but not only that after seeing the way my mom spoke to Amariah that one time? I don't wanna give her the chance to do it again, she makes sly comments here and there and I don't like it.
"Yeah but I talk to pops about that shit for a reason, it's weird talking to you about-
"What, sex?"
"Can we change the subject", Indiah cringes as she chews
"It's not even something you talk to your parents about, it's just weird"
"Your sister would happily talk about it with Dakota though, and so would Amariah"
"Yeah but that's just their dynamic, they don't have TMI in their relationship. And it's not a forced conversation" She replies
"So are you a virgin?-
I put my fork down whilst looking at her with a straight face, I feel disgusted. "Nah for real can you two talk about that in your own time"
But mom ignores me "Look I just wanna make sure, you know I don't agree with this kind of thing at your age"
"I am, gosh" My sister says annoyed
"Good"
We hear the front door shut followed by some footsteps, I'm just thankful that the topic of conversation is about to change.
Indiah smiles as she looks back. "Hi daddy"
Pops just come back from work
"Hey baby girl, you alright?"
She nods as he gives her a kiss on the head and we spud, "Let me see the hair"
"Ay chill", I reply as he reaches for my durag
He takes it off anyway, nodding with approval. "Clean"
"As always"
"So now you're rocking designer durags?", He says amused
"Ree got it for me"
"She did? That's cute. What are you giving back?"
I nudge him after taking my durag back "Don't worry about me, you take care of your woman and I'll take care of mine"
He looks at me impressed, "Oh so it's like that huh?"
"Yes it is"
"He's so deeply in love", Indiah teases
"You can see it in his eyes-
I wave them both off as I continue eating, although they're right because I am deeply in love with my girlfriend.
I notice something off between our parents. Dad went back to serious as he looked at mom and she was just acting normal, but he's clearly not happy about something.
And I think I know what
"Have you gone to see our son"
"No, I have not" She replies without looking at him
"God damn it Toya", He says annoyed
"Guys go eat in the dining room"
We take our plates without another word, already knowing how their conversation is gonna go. He's gonna tell her how much Malik wants to see her, then she's gonna say that she needs more time, then it goes round in circles. But it's sad for real because she won't even call him either, and that's what's pissing dad off the most.

Finally school is over
We had a pretty chill day, literally just played some games in class and then that was that. I tried to skip but mom told me to go in anyways. Afterwards me, Indiah, Blair and basically half of our grade went to our local diner to get food, it's what we always do on the last day every year.
The weather is way too hot for my liking, I mean I like summer but only when I can handle the heat. Today it's too much to handle, I'm literally dressed in a cropped tank top and some basketball shorts (because of the hot weather we could wear what we wanted today).
"Man why you eating all my fries", Indiah fusses
Blair steals another one, "You'll live"
They know better than to take my food
"Go buy yourself some more"
"Why do that when I can have yours"
"Oh shut up"
I snort a little
"Guys we're not sophomores anymore can you believe it" B then says
"Cheers to that", I reply whilst sipping on my coke
"What are you doing after this?", Dee asks her
"Raven's staying at mine tonight, we're probably gonna smoke for a bit then order takeout in the evening"
She slaps her hand away from her fries, "Exactly so leave room in your stomach for later on"
"You're so mean. Anyway what are you doing after this mrs relationship?"
Indiah and Kaian became exclusive recently, I don't think their parents know just yet.
"Ree's coming to mine, the boys are already there chilling with some friends"
I look across at one of the far booths, in my view there's the basketball team sitting together. But what caught my eye was the fact that Archie and CJ were talking, "They're friends again?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah I think they've worked things out" Blair replies
"Do they still talk to West?"
"CJ said they've spoken to him a couple times, he seems to be doing alright. I think moving was the best choice for him"
"Good for him"
Once we were done eating we paid and got out of there, Dee and I said our goodbyes to Blair before making our way to her house.
"Did you tell your mom you're staying over?"
"Yeah, now they're all going to Nobu without me" I pout
She laughs whilst shutting the car door, "It's ok girl we're gonna have fun"
We could hear chatter coming from the backyard as we entered the house, and we were also flushed with a wave of coldness thanks to the AC. It felt so relieving.
"Drink?"
"Waters fine"
Indiah tosses a bottle from the fridge over at me, I thank her before immediately drinking some and following her outside.
"Boy shut up and give me the damn speaker, you're not playing music anymore. Off limits"
No surprise that that was Jamila
"Hey bitches", Indiah says once we're outside
There was Xavier, Jamila, Kaian, their friends Rico and Jerome.
"Hey pretty", Jamila smiles
We hug and make small talk for a while, then I go over to my boyfriend who has his arm out, gesturing for me to sit on his lap.
"Had a big ass meal, be prepared in case you feel extra weight" I say amused
He smiles a little "Nah you're good"
I give him a small kiss on the lips
"Wow, none of us get hello's" Rico pretends to be hurt
I smile as I look past him, "Hi Jerome"
"You alright"
"Mhm, you?"
"Not bad"
"How's Tamara"
"Yeah she's good, imma go see her in a bit"
Tamara is Jerome's girlfriend and she just so happens to be my nail tech, I've been going to her for a while now. She does so well considering that she's only seventeen.
Rico gapes at me, "Wow Amariah"
Rico knows why I dislike him, well it's kind of in a jokey way because I'm over the situation but still. He's the one who was tryna encourage Xavier to be for the streets back when he was trying to win me back. I'll never forget.
"She doesn't condone shitty wingmen" Jamila let's him know
"Exactly"
"Here", Indiah passes me her lighter and I lean over for it
I can definitely say that I've reduced the amount of times that I'm letting myself get high.
"Mila you've switched to vapes?" I say surprised
I notice the one in her hand
She sighs "I know, it's so bad. But I'm driving these idiots home so it'll keep me from smoking a blunt"
"Fair enough", Indiah replies
"Look at me real quick", Zay gestures
I turn to face him and he wipes his thumb across my eyebrow
"What is it"
"Nah it was just something small, it's gone now" He replies before lighting the blunt for me
I offer it to him after inhaling but instead he shot guns, holding my mouth against his and inhaling as I exhale. I love it when we do that.
"You getting faded with me?"
My boyfriend smiles a little, "Nah not today. I'm gonna keep an eye on you though"
"Fair enough", I sit back against him and he wraps an arm around my waist
"Let's play a game" Kaian says
Hes been high since we got here
"Go on"
"Say it or shot it"
That's actually a good way of getting people to tell the truth because none of them like drinking.
"You guys down?", Jamila asks
"Yeah", We all reply
"Alright Rico you're first"
"Ight", He replies
"Have you ever slept with one of your friend's girlfriends?", She asks him
He raises a hand, "Hold on. You have to let me explain this one-
I gape, "Wow"
"What's your explanation?"
"We weren't friends anymore"
"Jeez"
Xavier tilts his head with a frown, "For real?"
"Wait who?", Jerome asks
Rico takes a shot and we just look at him with surprise, "Nah you're actually trash" Jamila lets him know
"It was last year", He defends
I shake my head whilst exhaling smoke, "Don't matter"
"We're gonna have to talk about that one later", Zay says to him
"I've got one for Ree", Kaian smirks
I look at him suspiciously, "Go on"
"What's the worst trouble you've ever gotten into"
I think for a moment, even my boyfriend's looking at me curiously. My lips crack a little smile as I remember, "I'll take the shot"
"No way", Jerome says amused
Now Indiah's looking at me, trying to figure out which situation I'm thinking of. All I had to do was give her a look and she knew, hence why she's laughing.
"You know already", I say to Xavier
"The Amsterdam story?", He mouths at me
"Mhm"
It's best for that story not to be repeated.
He chuckles, "Oh yeah. You better take that shot"
I down it
"Not fair", Kaian frowns
"Right", Jerome agrees
"Zay tell me"
"No", He replies
"Fake bitch", His best friend mutters
I stick my tongue out at him
"Mila have you ever cheated", Indiah asks her
"Hell no"
"You could teach some people a few things", She replies whilst looking at Rico
There were a couple rounds but about halfway into the game I was high out of my mind, "Zay what's your biggest turn on" Jamila asks him
"I have loads"
"Ok name two"
We look at each other, although I'm pretty sure I have a pretty good idea on what his turn ons are.
"Does anytime you touch me count"
"Yes", I say amused
Indiah fake gags whereas Kaian touches his heart, "Aww"
"And her thighs", Xavier adds
Yeah I don't know, he has a thing for thick thighs
"Xavier also-
He covers my mouth, "That's enough weed for today"
I laugh from behind his hand, I really wanna mention how much he likes it when I scratch his back but I'll save it for another day.
"Who's left", Rico asks
"Indiah"
"Dee do you swing both ways", Jerome asks her
Kai screws him whereas she leaves out her hand for me, "Only for my beloved"
I blow her a kiss and Xavier swats her hand away, "In your damn dreams"
"Just saying, she was mine first"
He looks at his sister with disapproval
"It's ok, you're the one fucking me at the end of the day" I whisper in his ear
He smiles a little
The rest of the evening went by pretty quickly, we were outside until about nine I think? I don't remember much other than the fact that I saw Indiah and Kai making out for ages in the kitchen, Zay was disgusted out of his mind so I distracted him. Anyway shortly after that Jamila left with Rico and Jerome.
Kaian's staying over, he's in the shower right now
"Zay get out", Indiah fusses
"Yeah in a minute"
I reach out my arms as I lie there on Indiah's bed and he gives me a cuddle, "I don't want you to go" I murmur
"Neither do I. But you need to sleep baby"
"I'm not tired"
"You're half awake"
I turn to my best friend "Indi can he stay, pleaseeeee?"
"No"
"Pleaseeee"
"My moms gonna kill us if we sleep with the boys", She says amused
"Does she know about you and Kai?"
"Nope"
"Are you gonna tell her", Xavier asks
"Not now. But I told daddy, he said he already knew" She shrugs
"Yeah cause it's so obvious when you're crushing on someone. Anyway stay with me please" I say to my boyfriend
"I'm gonna go hop on the game with Kai", He tells me
I pout and he gives me a kiss, "Don't do that"
"You're too quick to leave me"
"You're so clingy", Indiah states
"So sue me", I'm still holding onto Xavier but he's loving every second of it.
He tucks a hair behind my ear, "I'm only gonna be downstairs"
"Fine fine. Good night" I wave him off
"Night"
He starts to leave and I sigh
"Zay"
"Hm?"
"Do you love me", I ask
He chuckles, "Yes. I do"
"Ok but like are you obsessed with me?"
"Yes"
"This is so cringe, I can't"
"Your life is cringe", He replies to his sister
Once the light is shut and he's gone I cuddle Indiah
"Amariah", She fusses
"Don't fight it"
"You're annoying"
"You love me"
