" Mntanam ( my child ) it's been a while since you have been here. The time for you to go home has arrived. " Gogo said
I was fetched by my great grandmother the day I escaped from my father and I must say , I have been at peace.
" Gogo but I am at peace lana ( here) akuna muntu ongizingelayo futhi anginabo ubuhlungu. Angifuni ukubuyela emuva.( No one is hunting for me and I am not in pain so I do not want to return back. )" I said
What happened to me took a lot from me. I can't still believe that I was physically kidnapped by my ex boyfriend and my sister was part of it. As if that was not enough , my own father had to top it all and kidnap me spiritually. You know being physically kidnapped is much better than being spiritually kidnapped. I didn't even know that I was spiritually kidnapped , I only found out when I came here. One thing that I realized is that being soft is not an option in this world. Prayers are not enough.
"Mntanam umawakho kanye no gogo wakho bakhathazekile futhi bahlukumezekile ( My child, your mom and your grandmother are worried and they have suffered. ) it's been two months since you were here and this place is not for people like you. Your time has not arrived plus you have a bright future ahead of you. " Gogo said
" I am hurt, broken inside. Happiness has become my enemy. I really don't remember when last was I genuinely happy and not thinking about who else wants to target me. From primary school I had to deal with children bullying me because of how I looked and that's not all , when I was doing grade 3 I started having dreams ( crying) dreams of a man that looked like a animal sleeping with me more like having sex with me. It was not a once in a while thing. It happened everyday and I would wake up wet with pains in my abdominal area to a point that I still have those pains every now and then but I have learned to live with them. Can you guess who was the cause then , my father and do you know what was I having sex with, my favorite doll. I was recently kidnapped and do you who was involved? My father. Gogo there are many things that I have been through that I can't tell you out of respect. I found peace here , this is where I actually can claim to be happy so please, ngiyakucela ( I beg you) please don't send me back. " I said while crying.
" Your peace is out there. You are not at peace instead you are running away from your problems. Face your reality and find peace. " Gogo said
" I really don't have choice do I?"
" ( Chuckling) Nope you don't child but before you leave we have to discuss your marriage. " Gogo said
" What about my marriage gogo ? And why are you guys still pursuing this ?".
" Well that's because your fate was written in the stars, we just have to push you guys along the right lane. Secondly we thought that it would be a good idea to for you to know who is your husband to be so that you guys can maybe have more than an arranged marriage. " Gogo said
Why mara hai yoh. Gogo just has to ruin my life. You know after what happened to me , I planned to never ever be in a relationship but now gogo us telling me to have a relationship with my so called husband.
" Gogo who is it ?"
" Nkosiyabo Zulu " she said
" Not the one that I know angithi?"
" Yes the one that you know. I'm sorry but abadala ( the elders) are the ones who decided your fate along with God so I am just a messager. " She said
Nooo not uNkosiyabo, that guy broke my heart for the first time and on my special day. I will never forget that day. He even humiliated me even after sending that letter as if I was fighting wherelse I kept quiet and left his family alone and now that same person has to become my husband.
Me : " Who else knows about this?"
Gogo : " Everyone else besides the two of you. " She said
Me : " So I am the stupid one here ?"
Gogo : " No you are not. Listen here we no longer have time to chat. Go home and take things slowly. Siyakuthanda kakhulu futhi ngiyaxolisa mntanam ngokungakuvikeli. ( We love you a lot and I am sorry for not protecting you. )"
I'm not even given a chance to be angry.
" Ngiyanixolela ( I forgive you) I guess I have a lot of things to look forward to. " I said
Gogo: " Ngiyabonga ( thank you) Nyambose. Please do me a favor when get home , please look for Busisiwe her life is in danger in the name of protecting you. "
" What do you mean gogo ?" I asked
" I mean your friend chose to sacrifice her life instead of sacrificing you. Her father gave her no choice but because of the love she has for you, she would rather die than to kill you. Please find her. " Gogo said
Before I could even respond, the gates opened and I felt a force pushing me to go through the gate.
" Hamba kahle Ndlunkulu. ( Safe travels my Queen) " Gogo said from a distance.
At the hospital
Beep beep beep beep
" She is coming back" said the doctor while checking my eyes.
" Do you remember what's your name? " The doctor said
My throat was somehow very parched same goes for my lips. I struggled to speak.
" W..a..te.r " I said
The nurse gave me water and I drank it using a straw. After drinking water, I became much better and that's when I saw myself naked with only the hospital gown and a catheter attached to me.
" Where's my mom?" I asked
I saw no one familiar and that's when I started panicking.
" Calm down mam , your mom is outside. Please work with me so that your mom can come. " Doctor said
" Okay " I said
" Okay let start from the beginning. My name is Dr Zwane and I am the one who is charge of your case in the hospital. Do you remember your name? " Doctor said
" Hlelolwenkosi, my name is Hlelolwenkosi. " I said
Doctor: " how old are you?"
Me : "I am 18 turning 19 this year. "
" How many fingers do see?" Doctor said while writing something on his notebook.
" Two " I said while getting a bit irritated
" Ok that's all for now. I will come again before I leave after work to check on you but for now you are partially out of the danger. " Doctor said and left.
My mom came in as soon as the doctor left and she was a mess. She had eye bags and her eyes had dark circles under them. She hugged me.
" Ouch uyangithunuka "I said ( you are hurting me)
" Ngiyaxolisa mntanam. " My mom said ( I'm sorry my child)
I do not remember how I got here all that I remember is Zama injecting me with something before she left me alone to die.
