CHAPTER 23: It Starts With A D!
A/N: The 28 days starts now and I hope you enjoy this chapter!ð
ðªEllie's P.OV
My alarm has been blaring off for around five minutes now and I still didn't want to leave the bed.
I groaned in annoyance knowing that I'll be late if I don't get up now. I wrapped the blanket around me like a burrito before rolling myself out of bed and into the floor.
I cursed, my elbow accidentally colliding in my stomach painfully. I counted to ten before forcing my body to stand up.
I groggily made my way to the bathroom, took a ten minute shower with cold water and felt much more alive after.
Today, I decided to change into a white sleeveless crop top that had a butterfly print on the middle paired it with my light blue high-waisted jeans and finished it off with my white vans.
I gently combed my hair with my fingers, ruffling it a bit so that it wouldn't limp like a dead fish. I applied chapstick on my lips and pouted in the mirror.
"You look okay Ellie!" I smiled to myself, doing a thumbs up.
I made my way downstairs and was greeted by a crying Theodore and a stressed mom. Dad was probably upstairs and was still getting ready.
I mentally rolled my eyes, usually he takes longer than us to take ready.
"What's wrong?" I worriedly asked, crouching down to Theodore's height.
"His fever has been running high since last night and he wouldn't go to the doctor with me," Mom sighed, running a hand through her dishevel hair.
Theodore hugged me, placing his head on the crook of my neck. I wrapped an arm around his waist and glanced at mom in alarm when I felt how hot he was.
"I don't wanna go," He cried softly,"The doctoh is gonna stab me with a needle,"
"I'll handle this mom, go tell dad to hurry his butt." I nodded at her.
Mom gave me a thankful smile before making her way upstairs. Once mom wasn't in hearing range, I pulled away from him.
"Don't worry buddy, the doctor is not allowed to do that." I assured him, wiping his tears away.
"He's not?" He paused, his doe eyes widening even more.
I shook my head,"He's not buddy, I promise. He's just gonna help in making you feel okay again." I explained.
He hugged me again,"I'm scared Ewwie," He mumbled, sniffling.
I leaned closer to his ear."He's probably gonna give you a candy afterwards."
I patted his back gently."It's okay buddy, I get scared too when I visit the doctor but mom will be with you and she'll protect you." I assured, pulling away and placed a peck on his cheek.
"Owkay, I'll go." He mumbled, pulling away and rubbing his eyes.
"How about this? If you get well, I'll promise to buy you ice cream." I said, giving him a grin.
Dad used to bring me ice cream whenever I was sick secretly and would discreetly distract mom so she wouldn't check up on me while I was eating.
He's amazing, I know.
"That's a deal! No taking backs." He beamed, a toothy grin now etched on his face.
"Deal buddy, now kiss me goodbye." I offered my cheek to him with a cheeky grin.
He pecked me on the cheek,"I love you Ewwie!" He called out, before running upstairs.
"I love you too buddy," I smiled softly, standing up from my crouched state and pulling my jeans downwards slightly.
I glanced at my wrist watch, sighing when I saw I only had ten minutes before classes starts. I'll be late first period but good thing it wasn't a core subject.
I didn't wait up and was out of the door. A small smile gracing my features upon hearing the birds chirp.
The pack of skittles have been gone for a few days now and we were all getting worried. Alec has not been responding to my texts since the business reply.
A frown replaced my smile at the thought of one of them getting hurt. It wasn't my business to pry into it and I'm glad that Alec trusted me enough to tell me their secret.
That doesn't mean I was happy about it though.
My thoughts drifted off to Annie, after our talk, we've somehow been hanging out. She's been inviting me to buy some cold drinks with her after school.
We weren't that close but a friendship is there. She's really kind and funny when she wants to be. I don't even get why Alec didn't fell for her.
Todd were completely against the idea of us being friends but he knew he can't do anything about it. Ark though was blatantly expressing her distaste in my new found friendship and would give her the stink eye when we'd passed by her.
My thoughts were cut off when I heard a familiar low hum of a motorcycle. My eyes widened before I turned to my side.
There in all his glory was Alec, matching his driving with the pace of my walk. I gaped, stopping completely in my tracks.
A smirked graced his features, turned his baby off. He kicked the stand on before swinging his leg off the seat and took his helmet off.
I couldn't help but gulp when he shook his head, his hair becoming quite more messy. He looked handsome in his ripped jeans, a fitted shirt that hugged his muscles and leather boots.
He made his way towards me and I couldn't help but gasp when I saw he had a busted lip and bruised knuckles.
"Hiii biscotto." The familiar deep and husky voice of his brought a certain warmth in me, opening his arms wide for a hug.
I snapped out of my trance before glaring at him."You asshole!" I exclaimed, hitting him on the arms and whacked his head.
"WhaâOw! What did I do? Ah! Shit! That freaking hurts woman!" He whined, trying to dodge my attempts on hitting him.
"What did you do? All of you went complete MIA on us! Do you not know how worried we were? Then you show up with busted lips and knuckles!" I glared angrily, crossing my arms.
Alec's eyes lit up with humor,"I'm sorry biscotto." He stepped closer to me, taking a hold of my hands.
I huffed,"Did you kick their asses?" I asked, not looking at him.
I wasn't stupid, I knew what he meant when he told me that. Business in the gang world means someone needs to be punished.
At my words, Alec grinned."Yes ma'am. It's all taken care of." He assured, pulling me in for a hug.
My stubborn self still felt angry and I didn't hug him back, my arms falling limp on my side. He pulled back but didn't unwrap his arms on my waist.
I felt my scowl falter when he suddenly widened his electrifying blue eyes, a pout settling on his lips at my actions.
"I said I'm sorry cookie, now give me a hug! I've been deprived of you this past few days." He demanded, hugging me once more.
I sighed, my anger completely melting off at his adorableness. Who knew this bloody skittle could be this clingy and needy?
I wrapped my arms around his waist,"I missed you, you freaking wet sock." I grumbled, breathing in his heavenly scent.
I need to find out what kind of perfume this bloody skittle use. He smells of pine and a hint of nicotine, it's freaking addicting.
"Who wouldn't? I'd missed me too." He playfully said, bending down slightly to nestle his head on the crook of my neck.
I felt my cheeks turn red in embarrassment and because of his needy action. I whacked him gently on the head which earned a chuckle from him.
"I'm kidding biscotto, God knows how much I fucking missed you." He roughly said, skimming his nose on my neck upwards before placing a swift kiss on my cheek.
I bit my lip, feeling hot all of a sudden. I pushed some of hair behind my shoulder, feeling quite giddy and happy.
"I'm still mad at you." I glared playfully, sticking my tongue at him.
He nodded."That's why I have a surprise for you biscotto," He leaned in closer to me,"And it starts with a D." He smirked devilishly, making him look even sexier.
Considering I am a woman who is hormonal and just finished her period, my mind completely went to the gutter and thought of something dirty.
Yes babe! Give me that magic wand! Wohooo! Babyy! Jessica cheered. The urge to facepalm was strong.
"I'm gonna stop you right there and tell you that it stands for a date." Alec leaned back, crossing his arms with an amused expression.
I scoffed, despite feeling my cheeks turned even red."I knew that and what do you mean by that?" I coughed lightly.
He took a hold of my hand, gently pulling me towards his motorcycle before pulling an extra green helmet and turning to me.
After our first date, Alec had the extra helmet he brought repainted into the color green. I remembered feeling so flattered when he handed me it.
"Ellie Haven, would you skip classes for the day with me and give me the honor of taking you out on a date?" He asked, a shy smile gracing his features.
I couldn't help but held my breath in surprise, seeing him quite flustered and shy was new to me. Where the hell did the asshole Alec go?
I stepped closer,"You better make it worthwhile." I threatened playfully, moving my head towards him so that he could place the helmet on.
At my words, I was greeted by his breathtaking rare smile. My heart pounding gently at the sight and felt a glimmer of happiness at seeing it.
"Yes ma'am!" He saluted, placing the helmet on me.

"Don't tell me that you brought me to your secret building where cool shit goes down." I said, eyeing the building up.
"You aren't fit for it to see it." Alec snorted, glancing at me.
I gasped dramatically,"Have you seen my muscles? I've been working my ass off in my training sessions with Sage." I proudly said, lifting my arms up and flexed my arms.
He glanced at my arms that were straight as a matchstick, no hint of any muscles. I squinted lightly trying to make out a small bump or anything.
"Don't look at me like that, it's fvcking there. It's just covered by skin." I snapped at him, walking ahead first.
I entered the building , a small ding resonated in the room. There was a small reception area where it was between two large doors, a set of stairs at the corner which I'm guessing leads to the second floor.
I couldn't help but glance at the middle aged ladies that were talking to one another on the coach.
There wasn't anything that could give out where we were, there was a few paintings and names that were hung on the wall and their graduated profession.
"Stay here." He demanded, walking up to the lady in the reception area.
I stood there awkwardly for a few minutes before Alec turned to me and beckoned me up towards the stairs.
I gave the reception lady a small smile when we passed by, earning a friendly smile in return. I felt Alec place a hand on my lower back once we took the final set of stairs.
"Any lower than that and you'll loose that hand." I threatened, earning a smirk from him.
The second floor was a hallway, rows of doors lined up. He pushed me to one of the doors, passing by a cut-out cardboard of a lady standing up who was wearing a baking hat and a cupcake on her hand.
When we entered, I was greeted by a rows of stainless steel countertops and one in the middle front. Each countertops had their own baking equipments and tools. Ovens were lined up on the wall along beside it was cooling rack trolley and a huge fridge at the corner.
I glanced at Alec, seeing him already looking at me. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, his ears turning quite red.
"Uh, remember when I ate your cookies? Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I still owe you a pack of it and since I don't know how to bake, I thought we could maybe attend a baking class together." He explained, clearing his throat awkwardly.
I was about to reply when he raised both his hands up, cutting me off
"I-if you don't want to, it's totally fine! I could bring you somewhere else." He chuckled nervously.
I'm not a good baker and I'll probably mess things up but seeing his hopeful expression, I knew in my heart he planned this date through and who am I to turn down the opportunity to see him try something for the first just for me?
"You're going down." I cheekily grin, my competitive side showing.
He smiled adoringly,"We'll see about that biscotto." He said, nodding at me.
"Alec? Is that you?"
We both glanced to our right, seeing a middle age woman standing before us. I squinted my eyes, feeling quite familiar with her features before my eyes widened.
She's the standing cut-out cardboard lady!
Alec turned to the woman with a sense of familiarity, letting her pull him for a friendly hug. She pulled back, a huge smile gracing her features when she saw me and turned back to him.
"I knew it! You wouldn't just randomly call me in the middle of week asking me to give you a spot in one of my baking class if there wasn't a reason." She claimed, turning to me.
"Hi dear, I'm Janice and I'll be the one who will be leading you through this baking session." She introduced, her eyes twinkling with a certain warmth.
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear shyly,"It's nice to meet you Janice. I'm Ellie, a friend of Alec's." I replied.
In the mean time, hehe. My subconscious thought smugly.
She pulled me in for a hug, making my cheeks turn red. Alec had an amused expression on his face and I gave him a deathly glare, patting her back awkwardly.
"Aw, she has the looks and the attitude! I approve it Alec! Why the hell aren't you asking her to be your girlfriend yet?" Janice demanded, turning to Alec with a hand on her hip.
Alec shrugged,"You'll be the second to know when I do." He replied, giving her one of his devilish smirks.
I gaped at him, growing embarrassed at his candor. I didn't waste a second before moving closer to him and slapping his arm.
"Don't say stuff like that!" I hissed at him, my face feeling extremely hot.
Alec and Janice both laughed, making me avoid both their gazes and opted to place both my hands on my cheeks.
"I'll be looking forward to both of your cookies." Janice smiled warmly at the both of us.
A group of women entered the room, earning Janice's attention. She glanced at the wall clock before nodded to herself.
"Go ahead and choose any countertops you feel comfortable in. I'll have to excuse myself for a second." She smiled warmly at us, before walking off towards them.
I huffed lightly at Alec who only smiled mischievously at me. We decided to choose the countertop that was closest to the one in the front.
When everyone finally chose their respective area, Janice came up to the front and introduced herself.
"Good morning everyone! I'm Janice, your baker for today and welcome to the baking sessions! For today's special session, you'll be learning to bake cookies!"
Ingredients were already placed on the countertop with various toppings and I couldn't help but feel quite excited at the thought of baking my precious cookies.
A baking book was in front of us and Janice instructed us to the pages where the cookie recipes were.
Alec and I were given by an apron by the assistant baker and I couldn't help but tease Alec who looked adorable wearing the apron that had a cookie monster print in the middle.
I discreetly took a few pictures of him while he was distracted before finally focusing on my cookies.
Alec and I agreed that the cookies we were going to bake would be given to one another and Janice would be the one to announce who the winner between us after tasting it.
Alec wouldn't tell me what kind of cookie he was going to bake and would push me away every time I would try and sneak a glance on his cook book.
For the next few hours, Alec and I were totally focused on making our cookies. There were a few times where I had call Janice to ask her regarding my cookies and Alec too.
It was quite funny because there were a few times where Alec kept taking a spoonful of my cookie dough and I had to throw in a few punches and threats to make him stay on his area.
Of course, I threw in some revenge and wiped my flour covered hand on his face which only earned a glowered look from him before he turned back to his baking.
Good thing he didn't do it back at me, his hands are freaking huge and my face would probably look like a ghost if he smothered me with it.
While our cookies were baking, Alec and I took a few pictures. Janice even volunteered to take a pictures of us.
Alec looked adorable in the pictures despite him wanting to delete it. His cheeks had prints of my small hands on it from the flour and his face was completely blushing the whole time.
"Are you ready?" I grinned excitedly, finally done with my cookies.
He gave me a small nod, before I offered him my pack of cookies.
I decided to cook the classic chocolate chip cookies and butter cookies that were cut into heart shapes and dipped into chocolate and vanilla.
Alec gave me a toothy grin and took the pack of cookies from me. He leaned down to place a swift kiss on my cheek and a thank you before rubbing his cheek on mine which made me shout in protest as the flour was passed unto my cheek.
I glared at him accusingly, wiping the flour away from my cheek. He handed me his cookies and I couldn't help but gaped at the s'mores kiss cookies he baked.
It looked completely delicious and without even wasting, took one out for a bite. I beamed up at him, nodding my head at how good it tasted.
"You are officially cookie debt-free." I smiled, taking another bite of it.
It was quite surprising how both our cookies didn't flop considering it was his first time and I'm a clumsy baker.
"You're not wondering why I made the kiss cookies?" He asked cheekily, making me choke mid-chew at his words.
"Alec!"
